Everybody welcome to good times reviews. And as always thanks for checking out my reviews today I’m going to give. You a look at my personal backpack. This is the JanSport Odyssey line backpack. More specifically this is the Odyssey 39. And the particular SKU is TV u6 special shout-out to Brittany she’s the. That asked I could show a little bit. More detail and the inside of the pockets which. Ifail to do so in my Amazon video so Brittany here. You go first thing you’ll notice. This is the black color as opposed to the red. And rust color of the. One in the Amazon video. Ireturned and decided to go for this black. One with the red highlights since you’ve already seen around the bag in general I’m just going to focus on a pocket I’m going to start at the back. And work our way forward. Some books and things to give. You a perspective of how big. Some punches are okay first thing in the very back of the bag right behind the handle here is a zipper so let’s go ahead. And look at one first so there are two little pouches back here. One in the rear right here. You see my fingers on that’s for the Camel back water system so there are velcro pouches. That folds away you reach down in there. That takes up the full length of the bag from left to right. And from top to bottom so. You can put in one of those camel. Or water systems and then. You can run the hose through the back of the bag here so.

You have it accessible. When you’re wearing the bag. And you’re hiking if. You push that together so it’s secured by the velcro right in front of. That again I don’t know. How well you’ll be able to see in here since the bag is black but there’s. Another little pouch a little compartment. You reach in there this one’s not very deep it’s just a little place to put your mp3 player. Or disc player and then you’re also able to run your headphones out a little pass-through up here in the back so. You can listen to your headphones. While you’re walking okay let’s close. That up again I don’t have the best light so. Ican’t show the insides of these pockets as well as. Iwould like in front of the handle. This is the main compartment as a bag, so we’re going to unzip. All the way there are two compartments in here in the back you’ll see there’s the laptop sleeve. And then in front of. That is just one big large open space for you know books.

Whatever you want to put in their okay the laptop sleeve back here. Ihave a 17-inch laptop. And there is a moment so give. You an idea that fits okay the sleeve here is padded it’s not real thick. You know it’s a little bit thick it’s enough to do the job but. It is not a specific laptop case that’s not its function but for what it is its fine. You know I wouldn’t want to be too rough. And toss the backpack on the ground. Anything with a laptop in. You know it does the job back here is of course very padded. Because on the other side of the backpack is the because of the padding. That goes against your back so the back part of. It very padded this front part. You know a little padded not a lot okay the main pouch in here is extremely large it’s really big. Ithrew a couple of books in there just to give. You an idea but you know. Icould put so much.

More in there you look down to the bottom. You won’t be able to see. It with the camera unfortunately. Idon’t have better lighting but it’s a flat bottom. These are full-size textbooks so. You can see how far down. These are standard kind of eight. And a half by 11 type size textbooks. Ihave three in there at the moment. Icould realistically put probably. Idon’t know those same size. Icould probably double. That in their okay I’m going to zip. That up okay in front of. That is a secondary large main storage pouch. Ireally never use I threw a book in there just so. You can see this is the same size book as the others. You could probably put a couple. More in there you wanted to its full width it’s full depth. It goes down to a flat bottom. You were to reach down in there. You would see it hits a flat bottom again lighting isn’t quite well enough to show.

That hey all right let’s just. That up in front of. That is a pocket I use quite a bit. This is a storage compartment. That has smaller cubby using zipper holes. And things like this is the. Most of the time I keep my phone my headphones pins spare batteries things like. That in here so it beside. When I’m driving I could just reach over inside there. Where everything’s at so it’s the. Ipersonally use the. This goes the width of the bag. All the way to the bottom. You reach down in there to the bottom. It goes to a flat bottom. It will bottom out this open you’ll see. That there are two zippered sections here with mesh storage compartments. One zips open and then reaches in. You can see approximately. It is there I have just. Some sordid little things in there. One I’m not using at the moment but same thing same size over here pen storage a little flap right here for markers storage.

Whatever you want to put in there. Isuppose it’d be a little bit small for a cell phone. You have an older cell phone style. This pouch right back here is reasonably deep. You put your hand down in. That you’ll see it runs the width of the bag. It goes down to you know about yay far it’s a good amount of room so routinely. Ikeep my phone headphones a couple of five-hour energy shots my glasses. Some oatmeal flashlights so fluff stuff fits down in there. And again it’s a quick. And accessible has a little clip right here for keys. Whatever okay go ahead. One up so again the two compartments. Iuse the most are the main storage compartment. And then this one’s like horrible. Iuse the most okay in front of. Another full-size storage right here on the front goes. All the way left to right top to bottom.

You reach down into the bottom. It would flatten out the book. Ihave here is not quite the same eight. And a half by eleven size text as the other ones. This is a little bit bigger. Then a digest size but. It gives you an idea of what you could put in there were no other pockets it’s just a large open area okay zip. Now we’re to the front of the bag okay in front of the bag here has. These little you know straps for carbines there is. One small pocket here on the side the bag on the side of the front of the bag. You exhibit that runs. That pouch in there is. All the way from the top to the bottom. All the way from the left to the right personally. Idon’t use it for anything but it’s extremely handy it’s a great place to. You know keep small things. That accessible you need. You were hiking and. You needed your you know hiking partner.

You turn around said hey can. You grab that out that’s a good spot to keep. That stuff as is that little cubby up here with. All the smaller pockets alright as. You know over here on the sides. They have these straps right here. You know they connect right there so. You need to compress the bag. You don’t need it expands. All the way out you could use. And tighten it up to compress the bag so it’s not as thick water pouches on. Both sides of the bags I’ve already shown. That in the any other video but okay so. That helps again sorry the video quality wasn’t quite the best but. Ihope that’s at least somewhat helpful anyway. You have any other further specific questions feel free to get. Me up there on Amazon.

And thanks for checking out my video take care you.

Hey there! Today I’ve got another backpack for you. This is the Osprey overview as opposed to a review. I don’t have any actual hiking time with this bag but since Ospreys videos tend to be a little bit low on specifics as long as this bag I wanted to throw up a video on. I’m not sure if I’m going to keep this bag because I’m going to Machu Picchu, hiking 40 miles into a via the Sockeye trail. You can’t take than 20 liters into Machu Picchu. Then 20 liter bags. I wanted a smaller bag as opposed to the Osprey Stratus the 32. That I’ll probably take with me.

I’m not sure if I’m going to keep. I may have a Outdoor Research anti-matter on the way. That bag balls up into a little pouch so. Imay use that instead but anyway want to throw up a video on. This as long as this is part of their scarab skimmer series. And male female they come in a couple different sizes. One is the 18 the these bags only come in. One size they don’t have the small/medium medium-large like the bigger bags do so 18 liters only it’s $80. It comes in three colors red. Ireally like this red inferno red. They call it a black. And a blue I wish them. What their other bags came with. These colors but the size on. This it’s 11 pounds. And it’s 18 inches by 11 inches by 9 inches so it’s a nice small comfortable bag. This bag does come with a water bladder back here there’s a separate water bladder pouch comes with a two. And a half liter water bladder and the tubing comes out and down the strap. I’ll show you too.

And then it has the magnetic attachment which. Ireally like I don’t care for the Osprey tubing. That much because the bite valve is always exposed. And sometimes when you’re out hiking if. You put your bag down to start dangling dangles into the dirt. Ireally want to be putting. That in my mouth after I’ve had. That on the ground so. Iprefer the source water tubing where. It actually has a cover. That goes over this, so I’d be replacing it with. Iwas going to use it but comes down. Ilike the ones that come up. And down the strap as opposed to the Stratus. That comes around the side. These are easier to get on and off but it comes with. I guess of the included water bladder in there in front of. It the back here it’s a mesh back over a firm ish foam piece.

There’s a little bit of stiffening down the middle. And then you can see here there are cutouts on each side to help a little bit with ventilation and perhaps they may be just a little bit of weight. And that’s in front of the water bladder so. It will give you a little bit of extra padding in front of. That the straps are padded up on top. And then they go down here. And it’s just a pure mesh nice breathable mesh down here. Where the chest strap is. And then the chest strap is movable up. And down here on the sides there are water bottle pockets which will hold a Nalgene bottle. You want to use that along with the water bladder it’ll hold that no problem and there are cinch straps up on the top here. Iappreciate that the cinch straps don’t go over the water bladder pocket. Or over the water bottle pocket like. It does on my Stratis so it’ll hold. You bottle there and there’s a water bottle pocket on. Both sides on the back here there is. Some webbing or whatever. You want to call this cinches up tightens down. You can throw a jacket. Whatever you want to kind of tie into their on the front part on the top here. Ilove the Osprey zipper pulls by the way. These are my favorite zipper pulls nice rubberized easy to get your fingers into. Ialways love those on the top here there is as.

They talked about that scratch free pocket. Everyone talks about. You can put your sunglasses does. Anyone actually put your. Anyone puts their sunglasses in their pocket free not in the case post. Some comments they always talk about. They don’t get scratched I’d be afraid. They were going to break. Ijust had them sitting loose in here but anyway but scratch free pocket as. It is here and it’s a big pocket goes. All the way down to here I’m it’s its. That deep so it’s a big pocket so. You can fit a bunch of stuff in here. And also in here there is a keeper for your keys. Anything else you might want to a fix to. That on the inside some stuff in here just so. Icould fill it out a little bit it’s actually pretty decent size to top loader. Or a panel loader rather. Iprefer the panel loaders over the top water is just easier to get into the Cinch traps out of the way.

Some stuffI’ve got in here just. Some jackets and pants. And things like that so on the inside here just. One big pocket there’s. That scratch-free pocket. You can see it is its a really big pocket. All the way down to there but otherwise just. One large pocket the water bladder is right on the other side of. This no padding there but otherwise really. Nothing else on the inside just. One big decent-sized pocket. And I’ll load it back up the bag will not stand which that’s okay that’s fine. Ilike bags that stands but on hiking bags. Idon’t mind it as much. Because you’re not putting the bag down as much so not a huge deal let’s go look at the bag on here so. You can see not too big of a bag nice size. And then putting it on there is a thin waist strap down here. And the chest strap comes across snaps in.

And like these are movable. If you’re so inclined. And then the water tubing is magnetic. And fixes right there nice and easy to get to. That the water tubing. That comes up over the top. Because it’s just easier to get. When you’re taking the pack off it’s easier to get your sleeve. Or your arm in and out of. That as opposed to the tubing. That goes under the arm so. Iprefer that but it’s comfortable to wear. You can see not not too big picking it down here. You want to lift it up a little bit. These straps nice and comfortable Pat. It up over the shoulders. Or it’s going to happen Pat. It up over the shoulder is where it’s going there. And then up in the front here no padding but not a big deal. This bag is made to hold 25 pounds so. It should be fine for the intended purposes. If you’re looking for a small bag. Ithink it’s a great option just for me. It might be a little bit. A more little bit more bag. Ineed for the intended purpose of. Ican just through much Picchu itself so check. Though the Osprey scarab 18.

Hey guys my name is Nate. And I’m the other endorsement in. This video I want to review the Osprey scarab 18 liter backpacks. This has been a backpack I’ve been using for quite a. And it’s a backpack. That also comes with a 25 liter hydration bladder. And I’m not actually gonna be talking about. That in the review I may not do a review on. It in the future primarily. Idon’t want to review. It’s a good hydration bladder do not get. Me wrong one of things. This does actually come with. You do like hydration bladders is. It does come with a magnetic grip for the hydration water which does work really well. That work really well but I’ll get into why I’m not big on the hydration bladder. This in the future or in later in the view but the higher water is good but I’m not gonna really review into. That much further so. Ibought this as a smaller backpack. Iwanted something. Icould carry less in. And not be tempted to carry. Ihave about a thirty liter elevating continental backpack. And quite frankly I tended to carry too much in. Iwanted something I could carry lesson so. This ended up footing the bill.

It fit perfectly on. This backpack one of the things. Ilike about it is the pack has a lot of. This mesh on the back of. That breathes really well. Iwill say well they say. It breeds really well. If you’re like you sweat a decent amount you’re still going to sweat a lot. And get soaked of a sweat. These shoulder straps also do breathe really well with. It the chest straps work really well. You do like using hydration bladders. It does have a magnetic bit with. You use the magnetic clips with your hydration bladders have by an aftermarket. One then than the that comes with. That is a bonus and works pretty decent.

Idid use hydration blood over the Sodexo worked really well. One of the things I’m not a big fan of but. It works descent is the spaghetti straps at the bottom. This spaghetti webbing it’s not a super fantastic but. It gets the job done for a big guy like. Me I’m not like I’m not small but I’m not big. It just fits they had put a little bit. That but at the same time so. You could tell this is kind of aimed for people who are smaller. And I’m about average size for a guy like myself. Idon’t super work out. All the time but at the same time I’m not super overweight so. You could tell us the same debt well skinnier guys anyways. It fits really well on the shoulders I’m not always finding I’m lifting it up the straps are really comfortable on the shoulders. And that’s really important for me, so I’ve worn. This on multi mile hikes. It doesn’t really bear down on my shoulders. And quite frankly I require. That in a backpack so. And that’s I’ve starting to own.

More Osprey backpacks. And I’m finding that pins to be quite common with them. And I’m really starting to dig a lot of ospreys stuff. Now storage this store. This backpack has a. Few different storage options but not. Many to be quite frank the front. It has the bungees which. Itend to use to store my hiking poles. When they’re folded up. And there it holds them in pretty well. You can use it to hold on a jacket which I’ve also done. Something like that for easy access on the sides. It can hold a regular-sized Nalgene. Or a 40-ounce Klean Kanteen that’s. What I tend to do from the back as. Isaid hydration bladder I’m not gonna get into.

One too much and that’s. What I’m going to talk about a little bit. More but it can hold up to a 25 liter hydration bladder my big problem with. One of the reasons why I stopped bringing it’s not. That comfortable it is hard on the back board there would be a hydration bladder but. You had a full hydration bladder on the back. It tended to bulge on to. Than the stuff inside especially. You were carrying a decent amount so. One of the issues was. It just didn’t fit well. And that’s with it being as sold there. Icould do some aftermarkets stuff to. Iwanted to improve. It but that’s not what you do for a review so. It bulges out on the back. And quite frankly that can kind of be a little uncomfortable as. Ifound but yeah that’s. All the reasons why I stopped carrying a hydration bladder. And switched back to bottles plus. Itend to use bottles. One of these hydration bladders but. That to be pretty uncomfortable on the top.

You have a small pocket. They can keep some quick access stuff. It also comes with a clip. You can clip keys to a Ferry rod to. Whatever what-have-you. This is perfect for carrying some quick access stuff like. You want to carry a small survival kit in. This an Altoids tin in. Some food I tend to carry my food in here a flashlight the battery pack things like. Itend that’s I tend to carry a lot of sometimes stuff my keys. Iwant to or things a lot of things. Iwant to be able to access right away. Then having to dig into the big pouch it’s perfect for. Itend to have a lot of good experiences with. That top pouch it holds. It amounts of food I’ve been able to store a good amount of bars in there enough for at least. Iwouldn’t care for a multi-day trip but it’s an 18 liter pack your kindness for a multi-day kit trip as.

Some people have a smooth so my previous backpack trips backpack reviews then no. Iwould not recommend. This for a multi-day trip. Unless you’re using a pack sled. Or using you know a pack mule so then move on to the big compartment stay team leaders there really isn’t. Anything any bells and whistles so. This other than I don’t a deep pouch in. Itend to keep any pouches sometimes. Some extras like meals for the day. Any equipment I need for the day in there. Ialso sometimes tend to its enough. That can keep the jacket in there. Ineed to for the day. And it’s enough that stuff in there. And maybe some extra room. II had enough stuff in there. Ihad a first-aid kit jacket a meal. Some extra incidentals. Ihad room for souvenirs. Iwas up the Grand Canyon with. This plan this thing is perfect for. Either I’m just finishing I think about a four-mile hike with. This thing and I barely.

Even went into this thing once — to get. Some water some snacks but. Ihad my cameraman some extra stuff perfect for those but then. Even further 12 mile hikes. You really want to 20 mile hikes. And have everything really need into. This backpack you really don’t need much on those hikes. This is perfect it’s light its quick. You want to throw it comes off in a snap nope two snaps but. You know what I mean. This thing to be light. Iwent to a lot of national parks during my recent honeymoon. This thing was with. Me every step of the way. You want to tighten. You do have these two snaps on. Both sides that can help tension. It up to make it thinner. Or to tighten everything down.

You can do I don’t do. That a lot but sometimes. If I’m going its areas but. This thing it’s a really good backpack. And I’m glad I bought. And especially after the honeymoon. This thing came in useful. We did do we didn’t do a lot of long hiking but. Some long hiking with. This before we went on. That trip this thing was essential during those hikes. When before the honeymoon. And then during the honeymoon. This was perfect it was small. It fit in my luggage. And then on the hike out that’s like on those hikes out there. This thing was good enough. Icould just pack what I needed for the day. Some small hikes while we’re out there. This thing was on my back during those hikes enough. We needed water while we’re on the desert in. Some areas I needed. Ineeded a jacket I also have a really great backpack. Iwant to do a light hike. And don’t want to carry a lot with. This is perfect this has become.

One of my favorite backpacks. Ihave so they said. This is the Osprey scarab 18. And it’s quite frankly a really good light backpack for someone who’s looking for a low-profile light backpack. You want to see it on someone’s bag. Imean back sorry I just got off a short hike but didn’t eat much on. It doesn’t show much so. It sticks to your back pretty short. And the reason why I’m low to the ground. Ididn’t bring a tripod. Because with this backpack. You really don’t have much room but ya know. They said this backpack is a really great backpack. Iwould recommend if you’re looking for this style of backpack. You like it I’ll put. It just I’ll put a link down below to.

You can find it will be an Amazon affiliate link which helps out the channel but it’s about an $80 backpack. Ireally do think it’s last time. Ichecked it really is worth. If you’re looking for. That style feel free to check. It out but anyways we didn’t we’re get on the woods have fun. Idon’t st I’m the other person see everyone.

Or five months I already want to live like seven. Or eight different countries with. And Samantha I we’ve been using it. And it’s a great product in. Ithink the four or five months of use actually continuously used actually. This is my house right. Everything I own is in here will give. Me enough knowledge do. You know to give you know a best a good review okay so let’s start with the brand it’s a High Sierra actually my previous backpack was a High Sierra. Istill have this brand it’s a really good brand. Something different. One of those huge backpacks. You know like the 50 60 leaders so. You sometimes know your shoulders get tired so. Iwas like okay let’s go. Something else you know. You know whenever you have like those big ones. You want to like take. Something that is in the middle of the backpack. You have to take everything away so it’s freaking messy. You know like you have to like take. Everything out and then put. It back in but with. This back but you just have to open. And there we go that’s. It so the first attribute of. This backpack is it a carry-on size so. You can bring it with. And then whenever you go to an airplane, so I’m gonna be put in a list of. All the airplane models. Ihave used for the last three months so. You guys will see on which one’s fits very good. And other ones we have to like take.

And the front is out but. Iwill give all the information ok so first the beauty about. This backpack is well like. Isaid it’s a carry-on backpack so. You can see the sizes are perfect for carry-on but. This top part you can actually remove. This part and I’m telling you right. Now the backpack is full so. Ididn’t want to like make a review without. Nothing inside so we just arrived here yesterday so. Ihave an impact I wanted to give. You know like a full backpack reveal okay so let. Me just move the camera a little bit so. You guys can see what I’m doing okay so here. Ican take this front part away. They have a zipper right here. You can take it out so your backpack automatically converts into a day backpack. You can see you can take. This out and then you can just carry. It carries on Isis the election is very comfortable.

And you’ll be amazed of. All the stuff you can fit in on my last events I’ve been using it, so I’ve been carrying my laptop inside is a 15 inches laptop. If it’s perfectly actually. Ican feel like a bigger. All the cables I already. Iput always my rain jacket so as. You actually I’m gonna open. You guys can see I have a lot of a lot of crap inside right. And it’s all my cables mouse actually. Some medicines. Ialways carry with. Me just in case and then in the front pocket see. Igot my sunblock I have my waterproof cover. And then you can have like pans here. You can put your cell phone. You can put like all your work stuff here then on the sides. You can put like bottle waters like. These ones see it fits perfectly so. You can actually have two so that’s a really good thing so. You can have liked you know like. You carry on then for your day fact. You can use you don’t have to carry. One then with the backpack itself. That brought this out. You can have a right here.

You can feel like you don’t know. Anything you want and here on the top. You have the handle so. You can pretty much just carry. Whatever you want if you’re in the airport. If you’re on the streets. You can just carry you know yeah I’d be using it actually. All over New York carried. And the wheels work perfectly. Whenever you’re in the airport are not noisy at. All they’re very smooth. And very stable the handle is a case made by aluminum. And so far I’ve been using it like. You know super long. You know the handle. He hasn’t broken yet, so I’ve been ain’t no gonna broke it’s very stable. You know the materials. All good so as you can see. You just take out in an hour desk. You can have you can just close. This zipper so you hide the handle then. These are the wheels right here I’ve been using them for like. Isaid for months like almost every day. They still look very good.

They haven’t get stuck. They still roll like very good so no problem. Iwill show more pictures on. And the post so you guys can see like. More details and then. Another great feature about. This backpack is this just look so. You can just take this down. And then you just put. This here you just tie. It up here it has like a Velcro. He doesn’t like a Velcro thing so just put. It right here you go quick. And then you’d have. Another backpack here so pretty much. You are in a place where is very hard to roll your backpack. You can just like you know like open. And carry on as you can see so. It works very well and of course. You can wear whenever. You have like the outside part too so that’s a great feature of.

This backpack because pretty much. You can have like a three backpacks in. You have like the day backpack. One right here then. You have the rolling backpack. When everybody’s look just like. They hang out and then. You can just wear that’s a big. You like a lot of options like the other day. We were into a ferry. You know close to the ocean. We were just making the line. It was impossible to roll. It was a lot of scent so it’s perfectly just take. This out you just you know. You just wear on your back. You know like a normal backpack so it’s very good. This space inside I’m gonna just take the camera. You know as you guys can see. This secure things right here. These lots so in case. You have a lot of stuff it’s not gonna break open. And I’m telling you it’s very messy okay so.

This is a few of the clothes. We got actually we fit around 20 pieces of clothes here. You have this stripes here. You can just like tight. You have a lot of clothes but. You mean as you guys can see. You can fit a lot of stuff here. You will be able to carry. It on an airplane so. You don’t have to pay for it check back. You don’t have to deal. You know with the earnings loosing your bags so. This is a great item. Ihighly recommended for travelers. You can use it for different purposes like. You know like we are always traveling so the item was perfect. Ihave use several times so. If you’re looking for a new backpack. Irecommend you to use. One it’s very good the price is good. It’s Nate with American wilderness. I know it’s been a while since I’ve made a video. I decided that I’m gonna finally get around to doing this one about the High Sierra Ascender 40 liter backpacks. It’s a really good piece of gear. I’m gonna go in-depth into my impressions of it. A year and a half ago I needed a bigger like daypack. It is 40-liters as I said before, it really fits a lot like really anything that you’re gonna need for just one day of hiking. It’s really good for here. You can see these straps adjust on the side. I mean I’ve got some stuff in here right. I didn’t, I wanted it to be more compact. I would just go in and flip it right there. It’s a little tough because there’s stuff in the pack but you can do it on the other side too. It keeps all compact. More of a tall pack but you want to stretch. It works great there, so I’m gonna go into like. All the pockets all the features on here. Because as I said before, I really like this pack. You are considering a pack like I would highly recommend it. I’m just gonna say that right now, so I’m gonna go into. It in the back here. This is just sort of like a squishy mesh backing on here. And it’s got a metal support inside it’s not a full frame.

Anything but it’s good for keeping it there like straight along your back. It actually helps with your posture when you’re like hiking because of just. How straight it like keeps your back straight which. Ireally like I would show. You the metal inside but. It sort of got stuck in there. It doesn’t really matter to because I’m always gonna keep. It in there but just so. You know that it’s there. And also you’ve got the bees here. I wanted a pack that had support around the waist. One does and basically. It’s soft and squishy all the way up here to which I really like. It helps, it not feels like it’s digging into your shoulder. There’s a lot of backpacks do.

It sort of spreads the weight around evenly on your shoulders so it does feel better. If you’ve got a lot of like heavy stuff in the pack. Let’s take around to the front. Here’s a pocket for any like drinking tube so you can have there isn’t. I don’t think there’s a compartment specifically for water but since. It allows you to keep a drinking pack around. You want that is not specifically a wet pack anything like that but then you’ve got the big compartment here. And the zippers go all the way down to the sides. Sometimes when you’re trying to get stuff in here. You might want the zipper to go down. More of the pack so that’s maybe. One concern with it but basically. I haven’t found any like real problems with. How deep the zipper goes. And then of course you’ve got the cover on over. All of the zipper lines so that’s nice and here you’ve got just a small like convenience sort of pocket. And in here you’ve got a couple of different pockets in the front here you’ve got the mesh and you’ve got a clip in here.

And then you’ve got a portable tablet pocket. You can just slide it in there. Imean it’s really you don’t have to use a tablet. Anything like anything. That will fit in here it’s actually just nice to slide in. It is the front pocket so. That makes it pretty easy over here on the front you’ve got. These velcro straps for really. Anything hiking poles axes. Whatever I don’t usually carry. Either of those things but. You can tighten it up on. Either side and it’ll be really useful for whatever you’re trying to carry here. Ialready covered these straps. And of course you’ve got a couple of pockets on the side here I’ve got my water bottle in. These are actually really deep. They should probably hold. You know really any size of water bottle as well depending on what you’ve got inside the pack.

And since it goes pretty deep. You don’t necessarily to worry about. It fall out which is good that’s a really good feature of. This packet so down here at the bottom. Igot a couple of bed roll straps. These are pretty easily adjustable. And then of course you’ve got. These things here that keep the slack part of the strap from going all over the place. You can see almost all the straps have. That’s really nice and then. One of the coolest features of. This pack in here I can’t get. This out maybe show a cover for the rain. It doesn’t go over the entire pack. It basically just goes over back part assuming. That like this part you’re wearing but. It is pretty useful depending on what you have in here.

You need it to be at least covered for the. Most part from the rain. And you’ve got you can adjust. It here so that’s pretty nice pretty useful. Ihave used it on a couple occasions. And yeah and depending on how much stuff. You have in here because it’s adjustable. You can tighten it to as small. Or as big as you need. It so that’s a really good feature of. This pack it makes. It useful you know no matter. What whether you’re using it in alright, so I’m just gonna show. It clips on everything fact. That there’s a waist strap. And a chest strap it’s really nice and it’s. All like fully adjustable here is a strap here’s a strap here’s a strap so depending on your body type. Imean I’m pretty skinny guy, so I’ve got to tighten. These a lot but depending on them you’re a size it’s very easily adjustable. Isaid before like fact the back is flat it’s not gonna like bulge out onto. And make any weird shapes it’s just.

It stays there and stays like really firm so that’s a pretty nice feature of. It is pretty comfortable. Idon’t have anything really heavy in. It rights I did like just in the way. You can pack the bag. And change around the center of gravity based on like what’s gonna be. More comfortable for you. Imean you’d do that with. Any backpack but especially with. It is a tall one experimenting around with. What you have in there it’s gonna be really useful for you so. All the pens on what you’re carrying I mean. It is a day pack but. It is a bigger day pack so. You know it really depends. You could be carrying really. Anything and for a long period of time — so alright guys. You want to pick this pack up.

You can get it for about 70 bucks on Amazon. Ibelieve that’s I do highly recommend. You are looking for a day pack. That carries 40 litres. Whatever you need something. That has that volume then. It is a really good quality pack high sierra is a really good brand. And its really durable so. Ihaven’t had any real problems with. Yet so again I would recommend. This review helped if you’re looking up a review about. This pack or you’re just maybe just looking for any pack in general. Ido give it my recommendation. And again this helped alright. This is Nate with American Wilderness.

Hey guys this is Jason from my 10 feet. And today I’m going to review my new backpack with. You well actually is not. That new I’ve been using this backpack for the last four.

Ican tell you the qualities is its perfect. Imean it’s not like no like. II have it just for four.

Or five months but so far it’s. Nothing happening and. You know everything is. It looks just like new so. You want more details about. This product just check the post. You have any question just feel free to ask.

It’s Wing Mykelti Red Wing 32. And it’s a beautiful pack. It’s lightweight, lots of pockets for your bottle. It has a two-side pocket. Only thing I don’t like is it doesn’t have any pockets on the waist belt but it makes up for other by giving you these straps to hang things on to strap extra gear to the side as pockets behind the pocket.

You can slip an axe or saw through there and slips right in there. They handle top little storage area here for quick to get to things. It also has the front storage over here with an organizer inside. You can put your telephone your ear essentials in here. I have a collapsible low water bottle, wipes, different things in there. It’s a very nice pack carries well. These sight pockets here are great for sticking in long things like my saw, my bahco laplander saw. And behind they just put something even longer, has an airflow back to it with plenty of padding. You can strap other things, here has a bladder compatible bring the tube out through here. I don’t need it, I’m not a big ladder person has a clamshell kind of way of opening this thing you can bring you completely around. It’ll stop here with these straps. You don’t want it to go completely down.

You just attach these straps to and it’ll just stop about here. You want to go completely down, just English and voila. It opens up. You can store lots of things in their pocket water bladder. And like it opens up completely, like a clamshell beautiful color olive-drab. Something like that it’s a it’s a beautiful Peck. Ihave my thrusts river pack. Itried on yesterday. And it’s great but it’s kind of heavy something inside which they make a basket for it but this one’s a lot easier to carry. You can go for a day hike couple day hike with this, carry a minimal shelter. Something in their great Peck beautiful day.

Today of the Kelty Red Wing 44. This is a 44 litre backpack with hip straps. And a bunch of external pockets it’s a relatively new release based on the. Most recent version of the Kelty Red Wing 50 which is a long-standing popular backpack on the market there’s also a much smaller Red Wing 32 which is the 32 litre. And Kelty’s got a whole range of products there’s a. Few reviews of this backpack on YouTube but. Iwanted to give some personal perspectives. And also some up close you’ll notice I’m actually quite zoomed in. You can’t actually see the whole backpack. And that’s on purpose. Because I’m actually well it’s probably because of how my camera setup is here in my studio. And it’s also because I’m going to be really focusing on a lot of the details. You can look at Kelty’s own product video. Or other YouTube videos for what it looks like on somebody’s back walking down the street but.

Iwant to focus on a. Few details and hopefully. This will be a pretty quick. And dirty review I purchased. This backpack just under a month ago so. Idon’t have a huge amount of experience with. Ipurchased it initially. And used it right away for a week trip to Hawaii with my family. Iwanted something. That could basically be a carry-on suitcase bag. It does fit carry-on parameters. One pretty full as well as. Igot there a day hike bag. That wasn’t too oversized. Or under sized as well as a diaper bag. Or just handling baby stuff which I’ve got going on in my life were. You know I may not need to pack a bunch of stuff for a six-hour day hike but. We might be just going to the beach. And there’s big beach blankets. And so forth that take up a lot of space.

That would be too bulky for a regular day pack. Something is more of a backpack style think so. That was my reason for purchasing it. This video could be useful to. Anyone who wants to use. It for hiking or travel again. Because it’s a sort of nice backpack but carry-on size for pretty much. Any airline I think would let. You on the plane with. You the basic overview again I’m going to start with I’m gonna focus pretty much on details I’m not gonna do. Everything that every other reviewers done but just. Some standout things. Ithink are relevant to a purchasing decision on. This pack because it’s been very well reviewed sort of as a legacy of. All the great reviews of the Redoing 50 which. Idon’t own, so I’m just coming to. It could my review is kind of next. You my feedback by the way.

This is orange tape here. And here as well as. This nite ize red plastic SP nor our add-ons. Everything else here is stopped so let. Me start with the straps. Most people most reviewers finished with the straps but let. Me start with the straps in general good lumbar support big padded hip strap with a good sized waist belt that’s easy to adjust little manali type attachments on the waist on the padded portion of the waist strap so shoulder straps are nicely padded with load lifters which actually did work in my experience with. What little Hawaii load. Ihad for my trip chest strap is included pretty normal with the adjustments up. And down on the chest zipping right along pat pockets there are sorts of the visually defining feature. This pack is that there’s. These vertical pockets on the left. And right both sides nice and spacious there’s a pass-through pocket. That goes all the way through which. Ididn’t really have much use for and put.

Some water bottle pocket the standard mesh pretty deep here from small to large there’s a. What I guess people call an admin pocket with. All the various slots for pens. And notebooks in your iPhone here no little mini zip pocket but pretty packed admin pocket with a little key loop in the lid actually let. Me in the main compartment has. This top loader feature. You keep the compression straps. That sort of stops the top load. And just lets you stuff from above. You quickly undo quickly is the key feature here. You quickly undo it unzips pretty completely I’d say 80% of the way down to be a panel loader finally last but not least there’s a little tiny pocket in the lid for sunglasses. Or your wallet keys. Or whatnot that’s what I use.

It for and that’s pretty much. It for basic specs and that’s. What you’ll see in other reviews let. Me point out a few specific features. That may or may not also be in other reviews there’s a pretty heavy-duty handle here on the front for lifting this. More like a suitcase horizontally. Than typical backpack loop on top. Although as you saw with the orange tape there is a small issue loop on top as well so that’s an interesting add-on. Idid use it’s an iceberg I’ll leave. Imentioned this briefly earlier but. Ididn’t use this trip. Iappreciate it there being little sort of straps here for potentially adding pouches. Or just putting a flashlight with a little pocket clip. Something for hiking outdoors use also on the bottom of the pack. Each other and ears have mentioned there is also webbing two rows of webbing for a bedroll with lashing straps.

You really wanted to expand. This to make this up two. Or three day backpacking bags so those are nice the last little detail thing I’ll mention. Idid find useful is on the backpack strap there’s. This little elastic tensioner. Where no matter what your level of tightening of the main tie there’s always a little tension because of. This elastic that actually very useful for keeping this functional as a chest strap as. Iwas walking along with a full load as well as the hip strap as well. One thing I will go over. Ithink is particularly relevant to folks shopping for this bag is water bottles for the side pockets. These side pockets scream out to be used with sort of your classic water bottle.

You can always put the things in the mesh pockets but a lot of people complain oh. If I’m packing along. II don’t know this could fall out along the trail. Iwouldn’t know till. Igot to my camp I had fallen out so people liked the idea of having the bottle storage on the side. It just seems common sense. You look at the design of the bag. However in their infinite wisdom healthy knowing. That there’s pretty much. One universal size of Nalgene bottle made. It a little small sea. It is a little snug. It does fit that last little bend. And the zipper was a little tight. Iwill tell this backpack is empty. You have a full pack. Everything has bulged out. This is extremely hard to close. And actually risks damaging the zipper so. Iwanted to just mention a. Few things first they as well. Ihave a clean canteen here. That really doesn’t fit. It sticks all the way out the top so. What I discovered well first of. All there’s these little 16-ounce. No jeans and outfit no problem those are great.

You don’t need a huge water supply but a solution. That worked you keep the 30 ounce sorry 32 ounce full liter capacity of the. Now gene of this guy but fitting in here with a little less hassle. Now gene makes these old school canteens shaped flat water bottles. And I’ll tell you again. These fit easier as I’m demonstrating it. Because the pole pack isn’t bulging at the seams but. This fits with a lot of room. And despair not a lot but. More room to spare less stress on the zipper. When you’re loading up so. This isn’t it’s still sort of knock against the backpack. That the standard bottle doesn’t fit easily.

This is just Universal among. Everybody but I know but there is a workaround. You still want a full liter water same capacity to fit in. These side pockets these pockets are also good for putting a little over shirt. You want to walk with layers. And not open your main pack over. And over again throughout the hike. Someone who’s walking with. You unzip and take. It out for you or a hat without having to take off the pack. And break all down anyway water bottle holders for the side given. Ifound a workable 1 litre bottle. These pockets you got is. One of these one of these. You may be in trouble. You may have to use the mesh.

And the risk of falling out so. This pack is just straight from Hawaii. Ididn’t wash anything my first general observation from the experience. You can see this with your own eyes here. Although the black is a little hard to see in the video is. It stays pretty clean the fabric is pretty good at standard distances a. Few marks but it down on the bottom not too bad unknown long-term durability again I’ve had. This just over one month. And really just took. One real trip to Hawaii not. That country hiking or. Anything but it worked good prose the main capacity main pocket capacity is very good it’s shaped in a way. It bubbles out all the maximum cubic inches inside. You can use the water bladder holder. You want to I didn’t use. That but it’s its well-designed. And a compress straps at least the way they’re designed to pull out.

And back to the four corners are good at holding the contents of the main pocket in as intended. Another Pro is that the fit. And weight distribution with the small amount of framing here with the aluminum rod. And the pack design. And the straps and the load lifters. All the strapping for me anyway was great for fit. And weight distribution. Ihad a pretty late load of mostly clothing I wasn’t carrying and that’ll cook kit for a backpack trip. Anything but I think for loads of. You know thirty pounds. Even forty pounds it’s its a comfortable pack. Another pro the final. That I’ll list is the looks. Or subjective in all consumer products but. Ilike minimal badging and labeling and reflective strips. And contrasting zipper pulls. And stuff this amount of badging just so. Icould see it on earth from a distance. And know it was my bag but really. Ilike the minimum minimalist look. You can decide in and other videos. You like the look there are. Some other colors but.

This sort of two-tone fabric. One is sort of smooth nylon. One is a little bit of a texture to. It is nice gives it a little bit of distinctive look but is minimalist which. Ilike let me talk about the things. And I’m rushing through here but let. Iwant to keep this quick let. Me talk about the things. Ididn’t like about. This bag first and foremost the buckles. All the buckles seemed incredibly cheap in terms of the quality of the plastic. And the design these are guaranteed to break so the material of the buckles. Ireally don’t like. And also the size these are the compression straps. It hard to even thread the tab into the slide. Many times it was just so small. Ifelt like I was threading a needle the chest strap which.

Iused every time it on it’s a little bigger. Then the compression straps but. Ifound myself you know trying 10 10 times sometimes to get. It aligned and then. Ifelt like again it was so cheap. Ithought and didn’t. And pushed I could very easily snap off. One of these guys the waist strap which is substantially bigger still feels for what it is super cheap. You just the hardware is like the material the fabric it’s the fundamental of the bag it’s got to work. Idid not have nothing broke on. This trip but is the first trip. Idid not have confidence in the quality of the buckles especially the compression straps which are tiny. And the chest rack which is still pretty small the other thing I did not like on the subject of small. And weak is the zippers. And the zipper poles are about as small as. You can get on a full-size pack again.

They work they didn’t break this trip but. They did not inspire confidence a pull cord seems like a big cut corners. You know it’s not so much an issue for. That in the pocket but. You fill out this big 44 litre main compartments let. You’re really yanking on these zippers. You come around the corner in. This sort of s-curve to get the lid shut. It did not inspire confidence. It again made me feel like. This is gonna break sooner. Then later it’s fine in Hawaii but. Iwouldn’t want this to break. Either the zippers of the clasps in a back country hiking situation the last sort of con. That I’ll talk about they’re really left out at. Iwas using this bag for my first trip is. That the pocket capacity in the pocket design didn’t seem great.

Icommented that the main compartment is great. Istand by it opens almost completely. It the sort of bubble shape of the pack. That sort of rounds. All serves to give the maximum capacity to the main compartment. This guy I feel like. Iput a shirt anything I mean there is like half an inch at the top of depth in. This bag and really not. That much at the bottom. Either there may be two inches. Ireally couldn’t get. That much in here I couldn’t access. Anything on the admin panels the other thing I’ll say is. Itry to flip this open as. You would do in an admin panel situation trying to give it. Something this thing shut every time. Icould like jam and open but eventually. It going going it would just shut on. It was like someone was putting a prank on. Something every time. Itry to open this thing and again. Iwanted to fall back. It what’s in here it was doubly hard. This goes for the top lid compartment to the pockets not.

That small but the opening is inexplicably small. They could have just made the zipper curved around just a little. You could get in there but again the pocket is maybe an inch deep at the front. And tapers to nothing at the back so you’re just really excite. When your wallet or sunglasses not getting a lot of. Anything in there it seems like it’s just a little. More thought of the design. These various issues. These various issues could have been addressed. One small break that won’t really say it’s a complaint but small bright. Idon’t know if it’ll come during the video is on the back you’ve got. All the padding for your back you’ve got the padding on the chest strap.

You got the padding on the waist belt the padding this won’t come through in the video but the padding that’s on the back surface is a nice sort of closed cell foam feeling like. You would expect in. This kind of padding however in the belt the waist strap. And the shoulder strap listen your. That crunchy it’s like. They crumpled up a bunch of saran wrap. Something I mean there is foam in there but it’s like it’s somehow it’s not just. This kind of traditional nice soft plush. Yet firm padding they just use. Something different in Enix Lucas inexplicably thinner. And a little noisier. Idon’t know it didn’t it’s not a deal-breaker for me but. Ithought I’d point. Ihaven’t seen it in other videos. Idon’t know why there’re two kinds of foam. If there’s just some other shape holding material in their anyway not a pro definitely at least a grape so. Some pros and cons. And a grape again sorry. Iput the clothes up here by the way the s beaner from night eyes. This is the number for size fits perfectly in the two lower loops here.

You want to have something to easily attach a couple doodads to just a little backpack hack. Icame up with after purchasing the bag okay bottom line Kelty Red Wing 44 it’s a good basic design. Isee why people like. Ilike the idea of outer pockets. And the mesh pocket. And multiple pockets in the main body of the bag the carry system is relatively sophisticated for a moderately priced bag. All the adjustments in the strap. And load carrying system are pretty good I’ll give Kelty credit for. Ihave to say the zippers the material the clasps my gosh the clips are just. Idon’t want to say unacceptable but just inexplicably low quality. And not confidence-inspiring for a bag of. This cost I got a deal on Amazon. Iwas sort of watching prices go up. And down as they do on. Any Amazon from about a hundred.

And twenty-two ninety-nine to. Whatever this bag on a day. It was actually about $80. Few cents and that’s pretty reasonable. And I’ll have to say for $80. This is a fairly priced bag. It does have quite a bit of capacity. It does have the weight bearing carry system for if. You are gonna go backpacking with. This for 80 bucks it’s a reasonable value. Ican recommend I don’t have a comparison with. Another bag of similar costs but. Ithink for 80 bucks its fair for a hundred. And twenty whatever else it’s been going for even a hundred. Even ninety I don’t know. Ijust think the materials are too weak to take. And carry out on a plane to go on vacation with your family in Hawaii maybe it’s not a big deal cuz. If a clip breaks oh well. You just go down the road to get a repair. You went back home on the airline with a broken buckle but.

One of the very essential zippers. Or clasp break in a backpacking situation for which. This bag was designed that’s no good. You can’t do your compression straps. Or get your chest strap on. When you’re carrying your load to pack out of the mountains. If a zipper breaks you can’t. Even keep a flap closed. Ijust think that’s unacceptable. Iwould not recommend. This really at any price certainly not over $100 to. Someone just going to use. This for backpacking use. It in the city use it for air travel use. It with my little water bottle hack for not breaking the zip. Or getting your bottle in. And out of the side pocket. You know as this sort of backpack diaper bag for a vacation. That worked for me I don’t think I’m going to use.

This for its secondary intended use of hiking and backpacking and camping which. Ihope to use it for but it’s just not up to snuff that’s. This review has been helpful again sorry I’m sort of zoomed in here. This is kind of how my setup was but. Iput the black bag. Everything I wanted to be able to gather enough detail to show. What I was talking about with. All the various pros. And cons I’ve talked about what’s important to. And relevant based on my use of the bag for a month tell. What you think in the comments. You disagree or agree. You have a different Kelty bag of different attributes. Or weaknesses another brand. You think I should try. Idon’t want this for backpacking would love to hear comments.

And get the dialogue going if. You liked the video. You like my other videos like comment. Or subscribe love feedback. And we’ll see if the next video.

This is an update to the guilty Redoing 30 leader tactical packs I’ve had. This thing for I don’t know well. Now take it out a lot it’s been great so far don’t have. Any issues other what I said in my original video about the belly belt. You know it’s seen some use. Now I’ve got some mount st Helens ash on. It maybe at the top taking on other excursions. And things like that itself well the other thing. Iwould like from this pack is. You remember in my last video. This pack was the only. That didn’t have side pockets like I’m like the 44 50 liter packs. It didn’t have a metal stay in the frame. It has a flexible frame sheet which. It can come out you’ll notice. That mine’s kind of curved. It kind of permanently curved. Idon’t know what that’s from. Iwouldn’t mind it being more rigid so in an effort to swap. That out I went onto Amazon. This is a Blackjack assault pack frame sheet. It has an aluminum stay in. Ilooked at the specifications between. Iwas like oh and my fit similar measurements so unfortunately no. It does not fit you can jam. It in there that but it’s a really tight fit. And it’s a Boeing this. It makes it curved so unfortunately it’s just a little bit too long. And wide for it you look at one. This thing you’ll see a little sleeve. That has the pocket. Where the aluminum stay goes. It is the same Kellie. Imight do some Frankenstein. And make a better frame sheet anyway that’s. Where I’m at with this pack it’s still a good pack. Even run it without a frame it’ll work just fine there’s.

Nothing wrong with the frame sheet. That is I’m just saying but that’s why I’m at with. It great pack get one.

The smallest in the classic Kelty Red Wing line our Red Wing 32 is perfect for cruising around town. Or trekking in the hills to start the hybrid loading use. It burns lets you fully access your gear from. Either the top or the side of the pack with a top pocket. You don’t need to worry about burying your smaller items. And don’t sweat if the weather turns. Because the stash pocket keeps an extra layer accessible at. All times the daisy chain. And handle hideaway so they’re only there. You need them electronics. And maps stay organized in the front compartment. These loops make for fast storage of your trekking poles on the sides. You have secure zippered pockets up top. And stretchy water bottle pockets below inside the pack you’ll find the dual use hydration sleeve which doubles as a protective laptop sleeve the hex mesh throughout the harness system provides excellent ventilation so. You stay comfortable regardless of the temperature. Or terrain and the HDPE frame sheet provides load stability. And carrying comfort for those days you’re just running to the coffee shop the hip belt can be stashed for a sleeker appearance don’t underestimate the Kelty Red Wing 32 the small but mighty pack is Kelty built to be your everyday carry.

The Kelty Red Wing 44 is able to carry. All of your gear for a long day hikes overnight travel. Or day to day use if you’re looking for a larger capacity pack but. You don’t want to go into a full-fledged multi-day pack it’s got convenient pockets for all your gear a large u-shaped zipper access into the main compartment small side pockets spot for your water bottle. And lots of organization for your smaller items on the front the rigid back panel. And padding on the shoulder straps gives support but the mesh gives a lot of ventilation. Even remove the hip belt. When you’re not using it. Ican see using this pack as a carry-on. Or an overnight backpack for lighter loads. This as being a mid sized pack. It falls somewhere in-between a smaller day pack. And a full-fledged multi day pack but. That means you can get a lot of different uses out of. If you’re packing lightweight. You could probably take. This on an overnight. Or weekend backpacking but. You can also really cinch down the compression straps. And make it a much smaller pack for those day hikes for travel. Ican see this being great. It would fit into an overhead bin. You can really pack. Even know someone who uses. It as a diaper bag day-to-day. And it’s the perfect size for. That so digging into. All the pockets want to start at the top here. You have a pretty shallow pocket up here. You can store some smaller shallow items, so we’ve got. One up there it’s even got a key clip on the inside so. You can access your keys so. They don’t get lost in the rest of the pack feature. Ireally love about. You have a large u-shaped zipper into the main compartment so.

It starts here runs. All the way around the pack. And over to the other side. You have these compression straps on top. You can actually open. It up just as a top lid. And almost use it as a top loader so. You don’t have to open. All up to get to the items the top of your pack but as. Iremove some of the items here. You can see how much space. You really have to get in there. You open these compression straps. You can open this pack almost like a piece of luggage so. You can really fold. That down you can see. All the access you’ve got here. It has a zipper on either side. Even open the pack just on the side. And grab some things on the side. Or the bottom of the pack so really convenient zipper there. Iremove some of the things in there I’ve. Even got a sleeping bag tucked away in there. Some other items you can see. That big pocket on the front you’ve got an organizational pocket.

Isee the pack shining for kind of the day to day use I’ve got a little notebook my phone in there. Some pens and actually. Ihave a tablet it fits really nicely into. That sleeve as well so. You have access to put the tablet different places. And then just got an extra layer tucked down in there so it’s a pretty deep pocket. You do have stretchy water bottle access there on. Either side and then. These side pockets are really nice. These bellows pocket. When you’re not using them. They actually tuck away really nicely but. You do have access into the back so. You could store something longer like. You have tent poles. You can store them back there.

If you’ve got trekking poles. You have that pass-through to the stretchy pocket down there. And then again all kinds of compression straps on. You can make it a much smaller pack. You need to on the outside here. You have a tuck away carry handle. You can use to pick up the pack it’s a nice durable handle. When the packs on the ground. Or laying on the floor it’s really easy to pick. It up by you have daisy chain attachments there as well. And those tuck away really nicely so. If you’re just using this day-to-day those don’t get in the way moving down. You do have some tool loops here. You can use them as ice axe loops. Or trekking pole loops. You have these compression straps up here. They work really nicely. And attaching gear to the front of the pack. It around check out the back panel. And the shoulder straps. Ireally like the design here with. All the mesh this is called hex mesh.

And it’s really wide open mesh. That allows a lot of breath ability turn the pack to the side. You can see how much padding there is on those key areas of your back so as you’re wearing it. That padding is really going to keep the back panel up away from your back a little bit. And with these channels it’s going to breathe well down here on the bottom. You can see a really nice lumbar pad that’s going to really transfer the load of the pack to your hips. You have that same mesh in through the hip belt a pretty substantial hip belt for this size pack. You can really cinch. That down to carry the load on your hips. Now again you can remove. If you’re just using this as an everyday pack. You don’t need this big of a hip belt but. This works really well nice contours in the shoulder straps. And really good padding there so.

Ican see that lasting a long time. Now as far as stability. You have an HDPE frame sheet there keeps the weight down but. It has nice rigidity in the back panel. And then this is a slightly larger pack there’s a single aluminum stay there behind the scenes just to give it. More rigidity to transfer. That load down to your hips. This pack does just come in. One size but you can adjust. These shoulder straps with the load lifter straps up here so. You can adjust you can adjust. It up depending on your torso length. This is considered a man’s pack it’s got a woman’s version that’s a little bit shorter in the torso but. Ican see this pack working well for a lot of different people overall with. All the features you get here.

This is a great pack for traveling again store. It in Handover then a pack. You can use for lightweight backpacking if you’re just going out for the weekend. Or doing an overnight just a multi-use pack that’s really durable. And it’s going to last a long time it’s the Kelty Red Wing 44 you.

The Kelty Red Wing 32 is a pack. You can use every day. Whether you’re traveling downtown. Or taking it on to the trail it’s got convenient pockets to store. And organize all of your gear a large u-shaped zipper to give. You access into the main compartment small side pockets for smaller items. You want to get your hands on quickly a place for water bottles. And lots of organization here on the front to be able to store those smaller items the rigid back panel. And padding on the shoulder straps gives support. And the mesh gives a lot of ventilation. Even tuck away the hip belt. When you’re not using it. This is the perfect size packed for day hiking or traveling so let’s take a closer look at. All the features the main compartment is accessed through a large u-shaped zipper. That zipper starts here runs. All the way around the pack. And down to the other side. What I really love about.

This zipper is you can open. It just on the top so basically having top access into. This large compartment but. You open these two compression straps. You can actually have panel access into. This pack of well so. You have to do open. All the way kind of fold down. That top part and then. You have access to all your gear on the inside. This is a pretty small day pack it’s got lots of room here so. Ican put all kinds of gear. One thing I want to point out is. You have a padded sleeve in there. That can double as a tablet pocket. Or put your laptop in there. You can put your hydration reservoir in there. That can be routed out through the pack so multifunctional access there. And then moving down the pack you’ve got plenty of other features. Iwant to point out. This area right on the front. You could store an extra layer in there. You have these compression straps closed. It really holds any sort of gear. That you’ve got in there so maybe a rain jacket.

Something like that. You want to grab for quickly. Now on the sides I’ve got a little travel pillow popped away in there just to show. That got either side. And there’s actually a pass-through behind there, so I’ve got a pair of trekking poles stashed back there. All the way down to the bottom of the pack. And up through here so. You can grab those if you’re just traveling and. You need to tuck them away for a. While that’s a great spot for those obviously you’ve got stretchy mesh pockets here for water bottles. And then on the front. Ireally like this organization. That up there’s plenty of little areas in there to store gear got a phone. Some pens all kinds of gear there.

This is actually pretty deep, so I’ve got. Something stored in the bottom there too. Now on the front of the pack. You have a grab handle here. And then two little daisy chain attachment points down there they’re tucked away so. If you’re just going downtown with. This hat doesn’t look too much like a trail pack it’s got really sleek features there but. You need to pick it up buy. That carry handle you need to attach gear on to the front. You can certainly do. That down here on the bottom. You have two loops you could put trekking poles on there. And attach them up here on the top. You could use them as ice axe loops. You want to and then attach them there so lots of features. All over this pack for such a small pack. It really has got a lot of going for it. Iwant to turn the pack around. And talk about the back panel. It carries the load as far as support. This gets its rigidity from a lightweight HDPE frame sheet that’s behind the scenes there so.

You don’t have a lot of rigidity there but. It gives you just enough for the size of the pack as. You can see I can bend. That a little bit the pack is going to move with. You hike you move it to the side. You can see all the breath ability. And lots of padding and. Ireally like that feature. It gives you patting against your back there but then. You have those channels. That warm air can escape so. If you’re moving fast. If you’re on the trail. If you’re walking down town you’re not going to get sweaty behind. That pack now behind. These shoulder straps here. You have that hex mesh. All throughout that just aids in the breath ability a nice contoured shoulder straps here. And again for such a small pack you’ve got. Some really substantial shoulder straps. And a pretty substantial hip belt down on the bottom so nice lumbar pad there. And then the hip belt also has air mesh so. If you’ve got that around your hips. If you’ve got that kind of batten down it’s definitely going to breathe with.

And it’s lightweight enough. You can actually tuck away the hip belt into a little area right there so again. If you’re headed to the coffee shop. You don’t want to have. That hip belt out you can just tuck. And that’s a really nice little feature as well. This does just come in. One torso size but you can adjust. It here you’ve got load lifter straps. You can adjust or down depending on your torso length. And then you do have a sternum strap. That goes across so you’ve got a lot of trails specific features here so. You can take this out on a day hike bring all the gear. You need for that hike but. Because it’s got so much organization. And those little pockets. You can store gear you can really travel with. This take it downtown. It every day it’s the Kelty Red Wing 32 liter pack you.

I’m inside swirl I’m inside a Dicky bow. Iam inside the Delhi bow with my new healthy backpack on. Iordered this on Amazon yesterday Sunday the 21st at the 11:00 am. It is Monday the 22nd got. It left Tallahassee at them. It arrived in Tallahassee at 5:00 am but. What I got it for trips. And day hiking I already have a Kelty 3500 backpacks. It will fit a little bit smaller a little bit smaller. Ijust got all fit in the airplane a little bit better. It really does it really does. Ihave a pair of shorts in here a collared shirt a t-shirt two pairs of underwear two pairs of socks. All of my camera gear 2 GoPros. All the cords I need an external hard drive my headphones Oh my laptop my laptops in here the laptop cords in here. Istill haven’t even used. This entire pocket I haven’t used. This pocket I haven’t used. This pocket right here. Ihaven’t used this that’s really for how. You can really put some water in their go check. It out check I will do unclip. That unclip this right here that’s a whole little thing right there.

You can put a jacket hold on okay so hold on a second there. It is headphones bag with. All of my cords and mounting brackets mounting straps for my GoPros. Another bag for your memory cards GoPro batteries you’re talking adapters. When you’re over in Europe for your electronics underwear sorts to shirts I’ve got the GoPro. This mounting thing I mean in my laptop is my laptop right. Now with them it’s still plenty of room plenty of room for toothbrushes glasses. And contacts it’s about. Imean that’s what you need. Ineed your camera gear. And just in case they lose your luggage. You two of your best shirts pair of shorts two socks its awesome very very compact. It’s preferred day hike lovely out. This stuff back in and I’ll show. Something checks this out there’s really cool things.

All right you can grab. It up here right here. That but check this out there’s like a hidden right here look at boom a hidden little grab handle. It so that’s it mans very cool guilty Redoing 32 a buttered on Amazon for $75 free shipping I think tax is like 5 bucks 80 bucks that’s frickin outstanding oh look at. These right here you could put like hiking poles. Ithink that’s what they’re for hiking poles go in there. And then up through here alright that’s. This is waiting this is a longer. Iwanted it to be yes.

hey everybody. This is Brian with everything there is. This is the Kelty Red Wing 32 the smallest version of the Red Wing line 32 liter back 75 to $100 depending on. You find it on Amazon I’ll put a link below the video. You can get I paid about a hundred for it. Ireally like this pack it’s a very good size for me I’m about 510. Iweigh about 160 570 pounds that’s 178 centimeters. And about 75 to 80 kilograms depending on. You weigh this pack expands to a pretty large size. You can use it for an overnight backpacking trip but. It also compresses down really small. And can be used for EDC it’s got hydration compatibility there’s the hole for the hose at the top of the back there it’s got a nice grab handle the straps have load lifters which is really nice, and they’re very heavily padded. They have an elastic band.

That mid way down to hold the hydration hose. And it’s got a chest clip. That slides up and down for adjust ability the plastic on these is kind of cheap not the greatest but. It does have these little elastic bands. That hold all the straps strap keepers built into. It those are built in. You can’t lose them is really nice it’s got a hard back there’s a piece of plastic running down the back. And it’s very breathable it’s got. That 3d mesh it also has a stow able waistband. This will not carry. Any weight on you can’t actually put. Any weight on your waist with. This but it is designed nicely to. You pull out and away from yourself to tighten. It but again it’s pretty cheap plastic hardware on. This so here are the measurements. These measurements are in centimeters always metric never Imperial on my channel so. You could wear this with the waistband. Or the belt right at your waist at about 20 inches. Iwould say if that’s your torso length.

It expands on the inner compartment to about 16 centimeters somewhere around there the stitching for the shoulder straps for the hardest system it’s pretty good. Idon’t think that’s going to come apart on. Me but I’ll do an update in about a year after I’ve used. It for a while so the front of the pack here is the top pouch it’s got a little key fob thing on. And it’s a decent size. Ikeep tissue and stuff like. And there are things. Imight need to grab as. Igo on the front it’s got. These little straps. You can tie things onto the pack but then. They hide away under. Some fabric which is really nice. It keeps it to have a nice clean look here are the measurements for how big.

Each of those little straps are the biggest. One can be used as a grab handle the two side pouches are not. That big but big enough to hold my hazard four mil pods. And also my trauma kit on the other side so. You can fit a decent sized amount of stuff in there. You might need to grab on the go about five centimeters is the max for how deep. You can stuff it fulls of stuff. And then the front admin pouch has a little bit of organization to. It’s got one big back pocket. And then a couple of smaller pouches on. That panel I can fit pretty much. Everything I need in there. Ican fit my van quest EDC em organizer in there really easily that’s the Husky here’re the measurements on. All those pockets for what you can. And can’t fit inside there the two smaller ones are about 10 centimeters maybe 12 centimeters long the side pouches are vintage mesh. They have elastic bands. You can fit a 40-ounce Klean Kanteen so that’s not like.

You could use this for overnight backpacking trips. You did a minimalist type of packing anyway the strap to the top the compression straps have clips but the ones at the bottom of the pack do not have clips so. You can only unclip the top straps under those side pouches there’s a channel. You could fit a stool like. This is my ultralight camping stool. You can also fit a hatchet. Or an axe handle down through there but. What it’s really designed for is. These clipped out of the way cuz. Idon’t use them this around as an EDC pack but. You can put your trekking poles. And have them held in place under those pockets. And then those little loops at the bottom keep the poles out of the way it’s got a stash pouch but behind the admin pouch between.

And the largest pouch. You can put like a jacket. Something in there it’s got a little drain at the bottom so. You put your jacket in their wet the water will drain out it’s pretty nice and then the main pouch has. These two larger zippers I’m not real impressed with the zippers on. This overall you keep. It strapped it can open up as the top but. You undo those straps then. It can open up almost. All the way down you can really get in there. And grab everything so. Ican fit my electronics module my clothing module by decon bio hazard module by bartering and emergency shelter module. And my water module. All in there as well as in. This back pouch you could put a laptop. Ikeep my anchor solar charger in there as well as a three liter Camel back.

Some emergency documents. It does have clips on. Both sides to hold the bladder in place. You do want to carry a bladder. This is a really nice pack for the price. You know you’re not going to get the best Hardware on. You don’t but for the price it’s kind of hard to beat so. Iwould recommend if you’re looking for a pack. And possible overnight packet also I’m very happy with. It as an EDC pack so far I’ve been using it for a. While please subscribe to see. More videos give some thumbs up giving some comments in the comment section let. What you think and share. This video you get the chance please thanks for watching take.

All right this is a Kelty tactical Read starting from the exterior there’s three tool loops here. And there’s some daisies chain on the outermost pocket it’s also doesn’t carry handle here. And on the bottom here there’re two rows of fouls wedding for cinching whatever. You want on it zips on. This thing our para cord with. Some rubber on them. This pocket here is an admin pocket. It goes down someone deep but not. All the way to the bottom it’s got. Some admin the course laid back here. You have some stuff in there 550 cord is a felt pocket glasses in. It’s got a hook and loop field here. You can put a patch on. It says guilty underneath. You didn’t have anything so that’s got cinch straps on. Either side for all together no pockets on the sides like on the 44. And the 50 liter packs. That does have the water bottle pockets. That don’t do very well so. You have to slide your water bottle in behind.

This cinch strap to keep. It in their Rose it’s gonna fall out. This is the lid pocket got a single zip. And it’s large enough. You can keep a pistol in there’s no organization on the inside of. Though just it’s all just open so in the main compartment. You keep the cinch straps closed. It will just be a top loader for you. These animals a zip off almost to the bottom. You can load either way. This is a PC sleeve. This is the only organization that’s inside here there’s no other pockets in here it’s got hook. And loop field here so. You can get some other pouches. And things like and kind of organize. It yourself one thing to note on. That there’s no aluminum stay frame like on the 44. And 50 liters this is just has a flexible hard plastic frame sheet in their hits somewhat flexible whispery well. It has a hydration tube port here on the inside it’s got a carry handle. That folds down in between your shoulder straps. Now shoulder straps are nice and thick.

They work real well they’re adjustable from the top let’s go sternum strap it’s adjustable it’s got. Some elastic there so that’s cool. This waist belt this is probably the. Most garbage thing about. This thing’s a decent pack other. This waist belt it’s not really a waist belt its kind of belly belt the pack being so short. It comes above my belly button so it’s very flimsy so good padding though lots of air flow in here.

A classic in the kelty line up the red wing 50 is a great hauler for urban or. Backcountry adventures with a variety of organizational features and a comfortable carry this pack is designed to do it all let’s take a look at its features first i want to take the pack turn it around and look at the suspension system so kelty is implementing their perfect fit suspension system on the red wing 50 it’s a highly adjustable system that’s going to allow for multiple different sized torsos to fit comfortably into the. Pack you can actually make all your adjustments while you’re wearing the pack so if you loosen everything up put the pack on and then make your adjustments you can ensure that you’re getting the perfect fit with that highly adjustable suspension system we’ve got a really nice dynamic airflow back panel. So you’ve got really broad spaced mesh with really comfortable padding here a single aluminum stay provides support. And stability and a hdpe frame sheet adds to that structure we do have a nice. Padded hip belt as well give you some. Extra comfort and support around the hips and that is removable so if you. Don’t want to use that or if you’re going on just a really lightweight adventure and you don’t need it you can take that off and leave it at home so really nice features on the suspension. Side of the red wing 50 turning the pack. Back around we’ll take a look at the access to the red wing 50 so the access. To this pack is unique it’s kind of hybrid loading system so you’ve got. Kind of panel loading or a total kind. Of luggage opening for the pack so on. The top here we’ve got kind of u-shaped zipper so open that up and you. Can access the contents just by opening. That top flat if this is not quite enough for you can actually extend the opening all the way down the pack to. Access it just like a piece of luggage and that goes around both sides so you can really open that flap all the way to get easy access to all the contents of your pack really nice feature here allows you to get into things without having to dump everything out it’s a really cool system there that’s not something I’ve seen on a lot of other packs so unique very cool and. Like i said if you don’t want to use that whole zipper you don’t have to you can just use this top flat to get in and out of the pack so excellent features. They’re really cool hybrid zipper on the. Kelty we do have a lot of other pockets. On this pack that allow for a really good organization so on the front here we’ve kind of got a stash pocket so. There’s a little buckle that either connects or disconnects to allow for. Access to this stash pocket really nice you can throw an extra hoodie in there an extra layer or two maybe some other gear if you choose to it’ll stay secure with this mesh on the sides so you can. Ensure that it’s not going to fall out on you on top of that we do have a front. Organizer pocket so that has some good. Place for some journals pens pencils if you’re traveling you can store your travel necessities there to have quick and easy access to so a nice pocket on. The front another u-shaped zipper there on the top. On that kind of hood ish portion we’ve. Got a nice organizer pocket as well so single zipper just going to access really easy pocket there for small items maps travel necessities extra snacks if. You’re out on the trail but a really nice top pocket on the backpack there on. Either side we’ve got two larger pockets. So if you’re on the trail and you need your water filter your first-aid kit maybe a stove you’ve got a really nice. Pocket there to store that gear in pretty sizable so you can definitely fit some larger items in there if you need to we’ve also got lower stretch water. Bottle pockets or just your pockets if you want to use those for accessory gear and that’s on either side of the pack a really neat feature behind this pocket. There’s actually a really cool pass-through so you can actually store gear through that pocket whether it’s trekking poles tent poles or something. Along those lines you can store those behind that pocket tuck them into the stretchy pocket and have a really cool little access point there while keeping them nice and secure, so they’re not going to go falling away on a few other features that we have on the. Red wing 50 include a hideaway daisy. Chain and hall handle so on the front here we’ve got kind of this double flat. System you’ve got daisy chain attachment points there and if you open up that top. One there’s a nice durable haul handle that’s very highly reinforced so it’s going to be very strong and durable so really nice additional lash points on the front of the pack we do have some tool loops or ice axe loops so you can. Definitely stow your tools there if you’re out and you need that extra storage on the outside we’ve got some. Compression straps as well so on either side you’ve got top and bottom compression so it’s going to allow you to cinch down the pack there make sure that the load is not shifting on you without you wanting it to and on the inside we do have a hydration sleeve and. That also doubles as a laptop sleeve so. If you’re using this in the back country you’ve got your hydration at the ready if you’re traveling or if you’re in an urban environment you can use that for your laptop and have comfortable and safe storage for your electronics so really nice organizational features a. Very comfortable back panel on the redwing 50 and an innovative and unique opening provide really good structure really good support and just overall versatility it’s the kelty red wing 50. You.

I’m just going to give you a quick rundown on my pack out from my new 511 rush 12-day pack. Alright, first compartment here up front your admin colonel opens out. This is just to show how much I can actually just pack in here that’s just to fill up some space here. You’ve got a couple of pockets, handy for utilities bushman’s torch headlamp. You can fit that blender straight across the bottom here. I usually like to keep my laplander at the front in a pocket down the bottom. You know the good feature is it has these hooks on the side which I’m used to having you my other backpacks to hang my keys off. Another pocket here which keeps quite a few bulky things in it so that’s the front pocket. Now the main reason for this video it’s not a product review but what it is, it’s just showing you how I’ve packed my cat Kitty out into my bag. I’ve just got this bag today so this is kind of my first pack out with the items. I usually take on a day hike in this pocket here, perfect size for my snake bite kit. It’s at the front, it’s out on the outside of the pack which is good. It fits perfectly, snug awesome. All right, the other awesome thing I worked out today is on the side here and the small.

A system I’ve got. This power cord handles that I’ve made a couple of weeks ago from picking up my bottle. And just walking off with. I found the thickness of that tucks nicely into the system. I walked down here about 10-minutes. Walk to this won’t it doesn’t swing loose.

It can’t come out unless it’s pulled up. You could have a something on there and lock it on there. It doesn’t come off. You unclip that that was a pretty handy little feature. All right, the next is the main pocket. And I’ll show you just how much Q is in key. I will show you as well. This is packed like this without this bag in there. I’ll show this actually weighs in at 21 kilos that 21 kilos in this pack that is quite heavy for a daypack but this is just to show. That a 24 litre pack can carry quite a lot of gear. I mean not used to carrying 20 kilos but I’ve packed. It out spit specifically just to show what it’s capable of.

Now I’m used to having a 20-liter pack, the extra four liters in this really allows some versatility. Alright, so there you can see, opens like a clam which is awesome and look at the way. This stuff’s packed in here. You can play bag Tetras with this so basically. We’ve got one two three pouches which could actually. I had my clips, I could clip them on the outside of the system. Now I’ve got up a small hanker power cord here clipped on the lower. This section. On this section here. I did have this a couple of carbines just on here. So you can have that on there in an emergency situation. You’ve got access straight away to your med kit, so I’ve got a medkit, gas canister, small pouch. Just got my gloves in it. I’ve got a cooler bag here which has got one liter of water in it. I’ve got my survival kit and I’ve got my EDC so there’s all the kits and then you’ve got this pocket at the back which I keep and the boys put in their go fear with God. You see a couple of drain holes in that bottom here which is pretty awesome up. Here there’s a pocket. Its fleece lined, that’s for your sunglasses or your glasses case. Whatever so that’s in there in these pockets here. This profit here actually fits. You know you’re cooking windshield, these aluminum windshields. It fits in this pocket here perfect exactly the same fit give it takes probably two inches so that’ll be the slop in there.

You can also fit quite a. Few other things in their in here I’ve just got my brew kit. And my canister stand so that’s those two pockets. Now around the back of the pack words we’ve got. This will hold a bladder I did find. I don’t have my bladder in here but. Idid spit my bladder in here before. Ididn’t put this pocket. Ihave a two liter bladder. It can be held up by. These two little toggles. And your hose can come up through here. And up into and then. They will eventually lead to a port on. Either side of the bag at the top right so the only thing with the bladder. This pocket here seems to be a really tight fit right, so I’ve got a two-liter bladder I’ve probably only fetal liter in there I’m not sure of the specs on.

What it’s rated for but. Ididn’t put my I didn’t put. Any water in my bladder. And fitted either I’ll do. That later but I’m knocking around. Ijust wanted to get. This pack loaded up. And take it for a hike. It fits actually why I’m speaking about the back section here it’s. Another drain hole down here. You can see but I did find. When I’m wearing it. This section here they dug into my soft parts just above my hips that’s the only that’s the only down size downside besides the pocket for the bladder. Ifound the only negative things is the bladder pocket size. And those two little bits. That dig into me so as. These pouches here the demo light system can actually go on the outside of the pack.

And sit here like that could be on the front here so then I’ve got. You did have those patches on the outside. You can see there’s still a good 10 liters of room there that’s pretty impressive for such a small pack. You know and there are various other pouches like. I could have this small pouch out here. Or somewhere up on the side here don’t really need too bit but that’s the 5-11 rush 12:12 means 12-hour pack. Or half day pack the next size up is a 24 which is a full-day pack which. You could probably do an overnighter in as well. I might mention that down the bottom here you’ve got. This bowl tabs down the bottom. You could put your sleeping bag. Or sleeping mat and stuff like. That so yeah first impressions of. This bag I’m pretty impressed with. It just with various ways. I can set this out. This is the only bag I’ve actually owned with a mail system, so I’m new to that. I’ve had my other bags for you know 20 years. I just needed to step up.

I needed that extra room in my kit alright thanks for watching a check them out 511 rush. They coming. They come in a 24 and a 72. I forgot to mention the 72 is a three-day pack just zoom in the viewer mind.

Conclusion

Backpacks for hiking, climbing, and snowboarding have differences and their own peculiarities.

Knowing how to pick a right backpack that properly suits your needs is essential to a comfortable journey and sports activity. A backpack that is too small risks not being able to carry all your gear. Too large backpack risks causing back, shoulder, or even knee problems. Finding the right backpack can be sometimes tricky, but is not impossible.
