Let’s check some customer reviews review by D Jones I already had a celestron hummingbird, 56 millimeters scope and decided to compare it with the 50 millimeters Roxon blackbird here are the differences, one. The hummingbird costs more than four times as much to the Blackbird is quite a bit larger, even though the hummingbird has a wider aperture.

Three weight is similar for both give high quality images v @ 20x. The hummingbird has just enough eye relief to use when wearing my eye, glasses I have to remove my glasses when using the Blackbird, because there is less eye relief. Both scopes make me take the glasses off at higher magnification 6. The Blackbirds magnification range is a bit higher. That makes it a better choice for target shooters. The hummingbirds range is better suited for bird-watching 7. The Blackbird has a sunshade 8.

The hummingbird is also available in a 50 millimetres version that is small enough to squeeze into your pant pocket. It is less costly than the 56 millimeters 9. Both scopes have decent cases. The Blackbird case fits loosely enough that you can leave a tripod adapter attached to the scope when it is in the case, my recommendations get the 56 millimeters hummingbird. If you are a bird watcher who wears glasses, get the Blackbird, if you don’t wear glasses and you are on a budget, get the 50 millimeters hummingbird.

If you need the smallest good scope available, get the Blackbird. If you are a target shooter review by king Garang I bought this scope with the intention of using it at the range to view targets up to 200 yards away max distance in my area. Initial impressions, nice packaging, the carrying case with scope inside instructions in tripod, are the first things you see when you open the box. The tripod is made of metal with a really tough black coating and when I opened it up on my table, it was super sturdy, no wiggle at all and the rubber feet really locked it into place.

The arm that allows you to adjust the angle of the scope has a smooth articulation to it. In when tightened down, secures the scope into place very well, the bag feels like a lightweight nylon, but it will absolutely work. Fine in my range bag to protect the scope from anything that might busted up in there. Roxon should look into creating em aftermarket neoprene case. For it the scope is tiny. As you can see in the pictures, the length of the scope is 9 inches long and is just under 1 pound 2 ounces.

In the hand it feels like a quality piece. The dials have just the right amount of resistance, and the caps also had the right amount, ensuring they wouldn’t just fall off on their own. The rubber coating feels of high quality and the matte black finishes clean, clean, clean it it’d be pretty sweet if they offered it in coyote. Tan and OD green performance I quickly mounted the scope to the tripod and checked out the view across the street. Well, the image I had of my neighbors Dish TV antenna was incredible that weekend, I took it into Manhattan, while visiting my sister and was able to get an incredibly clear image of a building peeking over the top of some trees in Central Park.

While I planned on using this mainly for the range I could definitely see myself packing it for a day hike with the kids. So they can explore our surroundings through the scope during breaks. So far, I, like my new scope, a lot I’m fairly picky when it comes to equipment of any sort and always look for something that seems well-built and solid, which the Roxon seems to be things I particularly like are the rubber lens caps that are attached.

The focus ring is big, firm and perfectly situated on the barrel. If you are used to using an SLR lens as I am the built-in lens hood is clever and I didn’t even notice. It was there until I took a look at the manual, so that was a bonus. The optics seem quite bright and the focus is sharp I’m, not sure how much I’ll use the little table top tripod I think it is meant for people using it for target shooting I plan on using it for wildlife and I already have a full-size tripod, which will be better suited for standing up.

The only thing I can foresee might give me trouble is acquiring the object. In the first place, the magnification is 12 X 36 X, so the zoom ratio is 3. X, citing something at 12, X magnification might be tricky, depending on the distance, without some kind of alignment guide, I’m leaving for a trip to some national parks in a week, so I will have a better idea. If this is a problem, are not when I get back October 24th 17 update just got back from two weeks of driving around Colorado and Utah used my scope a number of times and, while everything I said was true, I did find a significant issue, at least with a unit that I have when using the unit with a tripod I found that I could not keep the object.

Clearly in view when adjusting the focus, especially when zoomed in the issue is that the tripod mount see picture is not solidly connected to the rest of the scope resulting in some flex, both horizontally and vertically, when adjusting the focus ring. While the Flex is only one to two millimeters, it is sufficient that the object such as a bird disappears as you are, trying to focus or zoom to a lesser extent, because it moves off target the greater the zoom the worse. The problem you can eventually get it focused on the desired object by trial and error, but it is made much more difficult than it should be, given that using a 12 to 36 X scope, pretty much demands a tripod for proper use.

This is a pretty significant flaw. I could try taking off the rubber pad on the bottom, as I would expect to find some screws under bear that I could tighten, but I might also make it worse.
