Hello, so I just want to talk about the new toy. And it’s got this the Leopold LTO tracker just got. It today so far you see the thermal ends the front here okay says. They got a lifetime warranty. Icalled to clarify. That it’s for pretty much. Everything inputs electronics the housing the switches. And buttons which I had to make sure. That correctly you would think. That the electronic but apparently it’s not considered them but. It does have a five-year warranty on. It for like trucks so far. It the reason why I bought. It I’ll go shop around for the thermal. Ilike to seek reveals. Ilike the pro the only problem with those units are. They have an internal battery. And then the way you hold them. And face them it’s almost like a flash like you’re looking down on. You have to look at the screen like. Idon’t like I want to build. You know get behind. And look at it like a scope. Something like now with the Torrey Pine logics couldn’t really find anything on the warranty. Ialso got a lot of bad reviews about them as far as like a file online just. Because the size of the screen not saying. This screen is any smaller bigger. Ididn’t want the chance. And the prices were kind of wacky trying to find them. And to get the thirty Hertz model you’re looking at a lot. More money and the detection range is nowhere close to.

What they say this is so just going to go through. It very quick I got a three chihuahuas here in the yard the mother. And two puppies they they came looking its kind of see them out there. They were looking at. Something in just a tree. And just grass you can see with the sun shining so on. This unit this little gnarled place. You say thing around. It right here is you would unscrew to break. It in half to get to the battery I’m not going to fill every. One hand but it’s pretty simple takes ones here. One two three and oh yeah by the way that’s. Another reason why I chose. And over everything else was. Iwanted something had a battery not. Something I had to recharge so. That was my problem. Idon’t not a big fan of stuff like. That having an internal battery. You know you charge. It sits for a while still dies out. And then it has a shelf life from the battery eventually. Any of the plug in charge of. Ijust pop into battery end. They also advertise the use time up to 10 hours.

Or so that’s also a lot higher. Then similar models but first off. You can see there’s three buttons in the front here. This is obviously an. You look through it’s like a TV screen. And then there’s the thermal camera but. You would press and hold. This button right here for a second. And you’ll see the lujah pool come on takes only a. Few seconds it has a reticle as. You can see the reticle by double tapping the power button comes on. That lets have to put. It back on the center button is the zoom so. If you’re looking up here. You can zoom Nexus 2x. It starts off at 15 X buts. Ilike to go to the. One because of just the fact. That the clarity is better. You zoom in it’s actually a digital zoom. It just makes everything so fuzzy but.

It does help a little bit around the 2. If you’re just trying to get an idea. What you’re looking at like it’s a big object small object. Whatever those dogs are roughly about 25 yards away. And it’s very hard to see them, so I’ll cycle through the views pointing at them okay so here’s the One X. You can see the fence spot that’s lit up. You can also it’s hard to see on the cellphone camera but. Ican kind of make or employers. This defense section that’s lit up by the actual Sun I’m gonna change the views it’s black. You can see where it’s dark to the right of them is a piece of steel it’s like a metal fire ring hey guys come here come on here’s two of them running towards. You right you can see them they’re very small. And it’s black I must switch to. Another mode that’s the third button. This is kind of cool. Because it’s high white so.

What it does it kind of enhances the hottest pallets out there. And the things that kind of helps. If you’re in a situation in the woods. You look for something to pop out really easily. This is the pallet you want to use. You can see like that fence section. Where the sun’s been shining its pretty obvious. Now there’re small targets so they’re hard to make help with. That extra thing but. You can still see them with the contrast here’s the high black same thing except it’s. More of a blacker contrast. It shows like the white background come here guys come on give here. It comes a little small there. She goes that’s about 15 yards away here’s the red. You can see you’re pretty good okay. Iwould say the red. And the green more for nighttime yep just because of my vision stuff like. You can definitely see. It pretties damn good the white. And then we’re back to the black from earlier.

You can see her I set the quality a little bit better on the screen itself. This was in 1 x mode right here I’m just going to walk out here a little closer so. You can kind of see details here’s like the grass go through the views fish puppy come here buddy there. You go there you go see. You can actually make out their eyes. And those stuff like. You can your this dog is pretty small. You can see next my foot say so yeah look at. That a black and I’ll give. One here and zoom in on a seat guys get the optical see. Igets fuzzy kind of worthless. Ijust rather keep one action rock with. It there’s the other dogs right there’s. All three of them you’ll see him running trying to catch him do so quick about twenty yards away. Now I’m gonna walk towards them.

Imay use a highlight. They are in the corner playing right Adam here come on guys come here. One come here come on. One side come on you can see the refresh rate is super fast it’s supposed to be thirty Hertz. Whatever just be perfect for and. You can make Evalia so that’s 15 20 yards away so do. More thing here’s my crappy trailer see. What looks like here yes it’s a little like predator erection here pretty cool. Though right in green. Iwouldn’t use in a day. If you’re trying to look at facial features stuff like. You could use it turns a day but. Iwould definitely use the weights. And stuff I use those mess. Once a day at work you go outside. Some modes really can use because of the heat on like the blacktop. And a lot of stuff, so I’m gonna come out here it’s my car right quick just got home just do a kind of example here see. What you can go trying to get the line up here.

You can kind of see. And do much there where it’s off actually had a mosquito Misha look the dads for fun yeah see. We can see some breaks here oh yeah see the lug nuts lighten up there. You go very cool you can make out pretty much. Everything at close range so. This would be perfect. If you’re not going to use. It for hunting and again double tap. This take that reticle off. If you’re not going to use. It for hunting I think. It would be a sweet little piece just for look around the house. And stuff like that the only thing I will tell. That the it can’t really see through glass so. If you’re peeking at your window at.

Somebody I found the fact. That would just pick up the heat of actual window. And just show it as like a piece but there was. One instance someone walked up to the window. He was able to be viewed through the glass. You could kind of see a little fuzziness of the like. That predator view like the high white. And high black but not enough to detect. Anything so just keep. That in mind just at the end of. All exam I’m going to crank. It rights up see how Clarence inks. One to two seconds not too bad at. All here’s one of those little puppies seminars Oh it’s re-meet. It looks like I said from here to the backyard it’s about a 25 30 yards so. That gives you an idea pass.

You could probably see a vehicle. You could you know. If it’s a clear night. You know you’re in the middle of woods. Or Camilla feeling you saw. Something moving I’d be good for. That but you can identify damn thing. That distance here the houses it’s kind of hard to see. Some transit of the camera those lines aren’t. One there by the way see I’m saying by the contrast it’s hard too there. We go its kind of hard to pick up those lines are not there in real life. Iwant to see anyways that’s. Ithe show my new toy. Ifigure anything else out about. It I’ll show it off pretty simple to use it’s going to work for what I want to use. It for I’m going to use. It for backpacking music. Because uh we’re in the middle of nowhere so be cool at the villa night to kind of see what’s a jump around a tent.

It could be a squirrel could be a bear who know. That way at least I sit there wondering and wishing our batteries. Some lights on and a building across the street we’re not seeing any of the light the lights are not appearing on the thermal at. All yeah I think this black is like the best freakin color there is. When we truly get there’s my car. Imean what they get to the top of the hill up there’s probably about 300 yards away Idon’t know what else. You could ask for it. And see but ladies in the car Percy a glass.

And over and over it helps a lot of the ignorant people out but then again there’s a lot of stupid people out there. That Oh that’ll never understand. You can’t see your hand in front of your face, but we’re out here doing it. You know we’re out here protecting the animals. We raise and a lot of people just can’t can’t understand. Everybody thanks for joining us out here again today on. This beautiful day for another episode of the VSO gun channel. What we’re looking at today is the ATN thor optic Etienne is a tech company. That specializes in smart HD optics. You guys have been paying attention for any length of time. You will have seen our review on the X site which is their night vision oper offering they are. Now on Gen — of that particular optic. We are waiting one of those for testing as. We speak but this is their Thor. This is a thermal unit. It is also going to be the. Most cost effective thermal unit. You can get on the market today. That said we’re going to dive right into. This thing see what she’s. All about there’s a lot of functionality here. Some of which we’re going to be able to cover others parts. That are a little bit harder to capture. We may not be able to get to but there’s a lot of cool things. That we’re going to look at right here right. Now on the VSO gun Channel. All right as far as buttons dinghies. And switches and stuff. You know controls we have six buttons on top. Each of these have functionality inside of the user interface within the optic. That is gained access to by pressing and holding the Enter key but. They also have their individual uses as well the right key starts. And stops video recording the left key will take a picture.

Or a photo burst depending on. You have that functionality enabled. Or not up and down our zoom in. And zoom out respectively. And the power button obviously turns the thing on. And off but you can also being able to initiate a fast n. You see calibration which is the calibration. You have to perform. Each time you want to power. This thing on if your environmental conditions shift significantly you’ll have to redo a calibration obviously. Because it’s a thermal optic right it’s very simple to do. That supply the cap. Either put that in the front. And press initiate in. Either through the internal menu. Or the power button. If you’re missing the cap which. Iwould actually like to see. This be lanyard it’s not. You can simply place the prong on your hand over the front of.

And initiate and then. That way on the right side here. We have a panel here. That has a TN on that is your access for your power it’s powered by four double a’s. Isuggest using the lithium cells. Or the rechargeable lithium z’. They seem to do pretty good. They are projected to obviously give. You much longer battery life here is your media panel. We have access to micro USB SD micro SD. And hdmi here you guys. You know your choose your poison for moving your data out of. This thing you can put. Any size micro SD card that’s offered inside there. It will auto push your data to. That thing so it’s easily transferred to your computer under the reticle style heading we find these sub menus for the thor’s reticle in.

Both their shape and color the reticle is offered in a variety of different reticles. We have a solid duplex a duplex with a dot in the center dot with three lines a pepper with lateral hash marks a graduated ballistics ladder a small pepper. And a duplex with hash marks for this we’re going to use the dot with three lines backing out. One screen will take. You to the color settings. You can change the reticle from red orange yellow green blue gray. And black we’re going to go ahead. And use black the thermal tab is. Where you’re going to spend the majority of your time. When you’re using the Thor. You dictate how the optic is sampling the environment. And feeding data back to. We adjust contrast thermal sensitivity. How the optic is sampling the environment through its metering mode. You can also toggle off the fast. You see mode which allows. You to use the power button to re calibrate real quick.

This is also we find our color palettes so from the top. We have white-hot rain rainbow iron bo Globo fusion green hot red-hot. And black so while we’re in the black hot setting it looked kind of the worst out of. All those right this thing is set up for white-hot so. What I’m going to go ahead. And do is play with the settings a little bit. While we’re in here. And show how important. It is to play with those settings dependent on the mode. That you’re in this thing is Wi-Fi. And GPS as denoted on the top panel right there. This thing can search for Wi-Fi. Once it’s not going to find any here. Because weird the range right.

And the reason we’re at the range is we’re going to go ahead. And hop into our demos on. This product this thing is currently hard-mounted up to a mi 15 F in 556. This gun is very similar to the gun. And our 100000 subscriber giveaway, but we’re going to go ahead. And run over there grab up. Some ammo and get to. Some shooting all right guys we’re going to go. And power up the optic real quick shooting zqi 62-grain ss109 s it’s a weird day out here today guys it’s its cool air is nice and cool. However the Sun heats. Everything up so just to make sure. That we’ve got even targets in the shade heated up we’ve gone ahead. And taking some hot packs. And put them on the heads of the targets just to be sure.

We can’t blow them off here in a minute but. Some of our pea black, so they’re going to be hot anyway. What we’re going to do for. Each of these is we’re gonna use a different color palette just so. You guys can cycle through. What a hot target looks like. All of them for this thing so without further ado we’re going to heat up. This Midwest gun right. Now start the closest target. And turn on the recording okay intermediate target that’s a good. That one’s painted black with. And far target you can only see the hot spot on its head yeah. Imissed it there with the hot pack there. What it looks like inside the ATN we’re going to stop recording there. You go that’s what it looks like inside the ATN under standard conditions in iron bow alright guys. And gals we’re working in white-hot. And we’re going to be doing is looking at. One of the power saving functions of the 18th. This thing is a computer. And obviously when we’re recording we’re going to be using more computing power which would deductive reasoning tell.

That you’re going to decrease your battery life right also in the heat of the moment. If you’ve got buck fever. Something like or your kayo huntin. You’re very fast on the trigger. You may not remember to turn on the recording function of the camera right. This thing has a recoil-operated camera mode, so I’ve gone ahead. And turned that thing on I’ve set. It for 10 seconds we’re going to go. It out right now same series of targets. And white-hot go ah out of Evo who was the charge loaded the mags anyway your fires alright let’s see. She recorded another really cool thing about the Thor is as an integral rangefinder. We have to do is go into the range finding function take a reading above the target take your reading below the target. We have a range so people ask. All the time they’re like Kirk. Ineed a thermal for I’ll just. You know night vision is coming down in price it’s not very expensive.

These days especially for the cheap stuff I’m just going to buy. You know I’m just going to buy. Some cheap night vision. And it’ll be fine for what I need for and look night vision it’s ok. You can do some good work with night vision especially. You spend premium on. And get the really good stuff but it’s still not going to be as good as a thermal you’re going to have a green haze in your optic. And you’re going to have things moving around inside of. And that’s how you’re really going to be able to tell. If it’s a target or not the contrast is not very good on night vision the contrast is excellent with thermal so the other thing is night vision really sucks in weather, so we’re talking like rain.

And especially fog you know. That thing that happens in the dark in the evenings. It cools off and in the mornings. When you’re trying to cut things in the dark with your night vision. You know that’s when thermal really shows its power is. When you’ve got things like. That moving in on you have problems with your night vision thermal will cut through. That so to demonstrate. This we’re going to do. Some dark stuff later but right. Some of those heat packs down over the hill in a shaded spot. Ican barely see them. Iobviously put them there so. Where they’re at right but I’m going to swivel the camera around so. You guys can look at what I’m looking at. And you’re going to see the shinagawa you’ll see them very well we’re going to pick up a thermal.

And blast them alright let’s kill. Some hot packs all right we’ve expended. All our ammo for this sequence let’s go down. Any of them not sure. Idid but I could definitely see them so as. You guys could see I was through a bunch of different holes there to try. Iwasn’t quite sure. What the hole should be for. That particular distance on. That object, but we’ve got a couple here see. We can get these to focus in here maybe please there. It is so a couple hits on. On a couple hits on. And three on that guy right there so yeah. You can definitely pick out targets with the thermal. You can’t see with very easily with a traditional optic. And definitely would not be able to see.

These on night-vision. We should take a second to talk about the limitations of thermal. It is a 2-dimensional image. That two-dimensional image is made up of thermal data. That your optic has collected from your environment so. We can see this pepper popper very easily between. These two barrels and the red-hot mode but. Iput a piece of automotive glass in front of. You can’t see anything and that’s because the optic is. Now picking up the thermal data of an object in front of the target so. If you’ve got something hiding behind. Something you’re not going to be able to pick. It up internal not you would be able to pick. It up with a regular optic anyway but in specific instances like glass. You can’t pick up something through glass on a thermal. You could have picked.

It up on a traditional optic alright kitties we’re in total dark I’m going to go ahead. And switch over to the thermal version here. What we got here is a line of pepper poppers. And I’ve gone ahead. And tagged the last. And the first one with the blowtorch so. What we’re going to go. And do is whack these things. And I’m going to do. It off hand first ones about 25 yards out last. One is almost 100 freestanding some of the other functions. That just absolutely love about. This optic and quite frankly. All of 18’s optics do. This their two-shot zero system just absolutely love. This thing it makes zeroing your gun super fast it’s very simple.

You do shoot one round. And then this thing is recording all the time. You can basically mark. Where your round hit on your target. And then move the crosshair to. You want the correction to be. And shoot a second time. You should be zeroed. This thing literally two rounds to zero. This optic at 25 yards super fast. Idon’t know how much time. You guys spend zeroing your optics but. Iguarantee unless they’re right on out of the factory you’re going to shoot. Than two rounds definitely. Something I asked Etienne to do after. Idid the review of the initial xixi gen. You haven’t seen that video link in the description was make. It possible to record profiles for your optics so. That means is I can take.

This save a profile for this mi 15 F here throw. Another gun of completely different caliber zero. That gun and save a profile for it. Ican then take that gun. And throw it right back on the mi 15 F select the profile. Isaved for that gun. And she’s ready to go thank. You Etienne for doing. They are paying attention to user feedback on.
