You'd a bear shop you'd a bear pepper-spray wisdom is better. Than strength be prepared you.
Hi I'm Tim Lynch with. You deaf industries today I'd like to show. You our bear shock electric food fence we'll show. How to install this is a great item for Outfitters who want to protect their gear. And their food it works great. When you're above treeline. You don't have a tree to store your food in. If you're in a large group. You have a lot of equipment to store so let's get started so the first thing you want to do is you'll grab your electric bear mesh. You have a couple ties on here to untie let the mesh fall. It unrolled you do is. You can you'll be able to separate your steaks. They have these the step in posts so you're able to just put. It on the ground and use your foot to step. This the first one stepped in you're able to walk along. And step in just kind of pull semi-tight so. When you're finished you'll bring the last post back to your first.
It makes sort of pentagon shape. This is done and it's a little loose so. What you can do now is go back. And pull the corners. That are a little bit loose. And pull them tighter. That we're finished setting up our electric mesh. We can continue by setting up. Some LED blinking lights. And our electric fence sign here's our electric fence sign. And two LED blinking lights the blinking LED lights require two double-a batteries let's install them. Once the batteries are installed it'll automatically start blinking included in your fence kit is a little tie to hold. These blinking lights onto the posts of the electric fence you'll want to do. Each side of the fence. These also work as a great bearing at night. You come out of your tent. It gives your bearings of where your fence is. Now we'll install the electric fence sign warning people. This is an electric fence the sign comes with ball chains included. This just simply fasten onto the wire.
Now I'll show how to install the energizer onto the fence the charger is. What powers the electric fence. And can produce a shock up to nine thousand volts to install the batteries take the clip off the front the energizer runs on four D cells the battery diagram is located on the lid of the energizer. Once the batteries are installed. You replace the lid. Iturned my unit on. You power the unit you want. It to say p3 for full power. That our Energizers are set up we're going to install. It by first installing the ground stake. This is a two-foot ground snake. You want to install. This next to post number. One you'll want to push.
It into the ground one foot. And have one foot above the ground. This allows the energizer. That has a clip on the back to set on the ground stake which automatically grounds the energizer to the ground. Now we'll install the hot alligator clip which is the red onto the Energizer. And the fence to install the alligator clip. You want to remove the red knob on the top of the energizer. And place the ring provided on the alligator put on the screw. And screw the knob back next we're gonna install the ground clip same thing on the back of the Energizer there's a black knob with the ring terminal the same way. And then place the Energizer back on the ground stake. We want to attach the alligator clip to the metal clip on post 1 then we'll take the ground clip.
And attach it on the green wire on post 1. What this does is it creates a positive negative fence. That means is all the orange wires are positive. All the green wires are grounded before. We turn our energizer on. And step out of our fence. What we want to do is take the red alligator clip off of the hot wire. And attach it to the post. That will do is there won't be. Any electricity passing through the fence so. We can safely get out of the fence so. Now we're ready to put our gear. And our food inside the electric fence again. You can just take this last post step. It out of your way for a second. When stocking your gear. You want to make sure. You keep all of your gear. And food 18 inches away from the inside of the fence. We can safely turn on the Energizer. And step out of our fence without getting shocked. Once out we want to tie the two posts together to make.
More secure we have our gear in the electric fence we'll want to make the fence live by taking the alligator clip off of the post. And placing it back on the clip on post number. Now your electric fence is live. And ready to deter animals. That may come in encounter. It the reason for the 18 inches inside your electric fences so the bear can't reach in. And grab it without getting shocked. And it's a us Forest Service guideline for storing your food properly. You have a large camp. And your gear won't fit. You can increase this fence twice as large by adding another bear electric mesh so. Now we're going to expand the electric fence we'll have to remove the post. And bring them out wider. Now we'll grab our other electric mesh. Any areas you might need to take up slack. You can pull your posts out again to take the slack out of the electric fence.
That we've made our electric fence larger. We need to hook it together in order to make the connection between the two fences to do. That we'll want to tie the fences together. And then we need to connect the live wires using the clips on. Each end by sliding the clips together. That we've enlarged our electric fence we'll need to take. One of the LED blinking lights. And move it across the fence so it's on the other side. We have our LED lights properly installed. And they're across to. Each other from the fence. That we've expanded our area we'll want to continue to tie the fence post together. Where our gate is in order to make our fence live. That we're finished tying the fences together. We can make the fence live again by placing the red alligator clip on to the orange wire on post number.
Now in order to get back into your fence to get your gear. You want to be careful. And take that red alligator clip off of the orange wire clip which makes the fence live. And place it back onto the plastic post. Now you're ready to go ahead. And enter your fence. You won't get shocked from the live wire because of the red alligator clip grounded to the plastic. That the bear shock electric fence is installed let's check. It out to make sure it's installed properly. And troubleshoot any problems. We might have while inspecting our fence. We found that there was. Some vegetation touching the live wire on our fence we'll want to remove.
That's because that could decrease the effectiveness of our fence. One isn't touching but it's close, so we'll go ahead. And remove that just in case. Now we're ready to take down our bear shock electric fence. We want to cut the power by releasing the red alligator clip on the orange wire. And then just untie the gate. Now I'm going to go in. And unhook the energizer. And turn you can leave. These terminals connected for the next time we'll want to start taking our posts out. Each section allowing. That mesh to drape having all of our posts together. You go ahead it on the ground. And just roll your posts up in the mesh. Now it's ready to be placed back into the bag to wrap your Clips around in your energizer just carefully set.
It in the bag place your ground stake into the bag again allowing your the mesh to drape in between the posts the bag is large enough to hold the additional bare mesh. This system will run up to three weeks non-stop in the back country. It weighs ten pounds. It makes the Outfitters life a lot easier it's a lot easier to install. One of these fences. It is to hang food and equipment up into trees which can take a long time to set up. You have to have certain trees. It has to be over 15 feet off the ground so to have. This system and to be able to secure your equipment. And your food on the ground is so much easier the energizer that's included with the bear shock electric fence has an LCD panel. That displays the power setting the voltage. And the battery life the bear shock electric fence is designed for bears but. It can help keep out other critters as well like Fox raccoons wolves safety is our number-one concern included in your bear shock electric food storage fence is 30 feet of mesh.
You can see we can expand. That to 60 feet of mesh which is the maximum allowed by the Forest Service for food storage. You can purchase your bear shock electric fence from bear spray calm. You can call 866 bear 900 that's eight six two three two seven nines.
