I’m wearing the Marmot women’s and it’s easy to see why, in true Marmot fashion, this jacket has the tech to keep you dry. So no bad weather can keep you from the trail. This is made of gore-tex pack light fabric and is fully seam taped. The durable water repellent coating on the outside is PFC free, so you can feel good about wearing it. This fabric is breathable and with a ventilation of the pit zips, you won’t sweat inside the jacket.
The attached hood gives protection on stormy days, it’s adjustable to cinch around your head, so you can look left and right and not be blinded. The zippers on the hand, pockets are hidden away and it’s got a matte finish for a sleek look, so you can wear it downtown and you’ll fit right in the cuffs adjust to keep out the elements and the draw cord at the hem can be tightened if you’re wearing a backpack with a hip belt.
If you zip it all the way up. The dry climb liner behind your chin is soft, and the snap at the bottom of the zipper helps keep water out by securing the storm flap over the front, zipper I’m wearing a medium, and it fits well over layers with marmots regular fit. You won’t feel inhibited because of marmots angel wing movement, which is patterned to give more room in your shoulders and upper back you’re free to move your arms without worrying about the jacket riding up.
This jacket weighs in around 14 ounces, despite all its features and durable materials, its packable breathable, and will keep you dry and happy on rainy days. Amazing servus, see you on the trail.
Welcome to winter women I am Meg from Marmot here to talk about the Montreux jacket. This jacket is 700 fill down defender, which is our water-resistant coated treatment. This jacket has a removable, down-filled hood, as well as a removable, faux fur trim. This jacket has two hand warmer pockets in the front. It also has a plush fleece lining on the inside, as well as a little drop pocket for your stuff.
This is the adorable Montreux coat.
By Marmot this is an extremely lightweight pocket. Jacket. Pocket jacket means it’s going to stuff into its own pocket and pack up into such a tight little bundle that you can easily stick it in the pocket of your backpack or another jacket or your glove compartment or wherever you want to have this little piece. It weighs in at only four point six ounces, and while it is not waterproof, it is highly water-resistant.
It’s also wind resistant, but instead you get this amazing breathability with it. It’s going to be the perfect piece to wear and, like spring summer, fall seasons when you want to go out you’re doing a fast sport. So you’re running your mountain biking, you’re hiking, you’re, doing ultra run. You want a little bit of weather protection, a little bit of wind protection, but you need that increased breathability aside from being extremely packable an ultralight and offering that wind resistance as well some weather resistance and crease breathability.
The nano with portion of this jacket actually comes from a fabrication used on the inside. You can see here just across the chest in the top of the arm. Here. You’ve got a very altra light version of marmots dry climb fabric, and what this does is it allows moisture to be constantly moved away from the core of the body where you’re putting out the most sweat and the most heat moving it through the jacket and passing it off.
So it dries really quickly feature set on this jacket is meant to be minimal and simple. So you have a single chest. Pocket here, jacket does pack into this pocket for storage. You’ve got a full front. Zipper. You’ve got a single hem drawcord here, as well as a full front. Zipper that comes up into the collar and you’ve got a bit of adjustable in the color, so you can cinch it in around your neck.
Jacket, it’s designed with the mountain athlete in mind to give weather protection without slowing you down a common problem we face when moving fast or working hard outdoors is finding a piece of clothing. That’s just the right amount of protection while still offering a lot of breathability. If it’s not breathable enough, we end up taking it off if it doesn’t give enough of a barrier it becomes useless.
So Marmot has really struck a balance here with the air light, so that it gives all the features you need to be lightweight breathable but offer that protection. So, let’s take a closer look. The face fabric here is an ultra light. 12 D stretch nylon. The stretch is important, so it doesn’t feel constricting and it moves with you.
It has a durable water, repellent finish on it. So this is not a waterproof piece by any means, but it does offer the wind protection and a little bit of water resistance. They give you a full length zipper here, so it’s easy to put on and take off. You don’t have to pull it over your head, but they keep the features really minimal down.
Here, at the cuff, you have a little bit of stretch, but there’s really no adjustability on the cuff, and it actually drops down a little bit in the back, so that offers a little bit more protection there if you’re wearing a pack. If you’re moving it’s not going to ride up on you because of that drop ends. You have two pockets right here in the front and these are hand level pockets, cool thing about the pocket on this side.
Is it actually has a stretchy band? You can turn this pocket inside out, put the jacket inside of it and then that stretchy band actually acts as a strap for your hand. So if you’re just going out for a quick run- and you don’t have a pack with you- you can just put that right on your hand. So when the clouds roll in or if it gets windy, it’s really easy to just put that barrier on or take it off and carry it the rest of the way.
Even though, with a piece like this, you want to keep the weight down, really appreciate. Having a hood, the hood doesn’t have any adjustability to it, but it’s just the right size to fit over your head or if you have a lightweight hat on, it’s got a brim up front and then elastic underneath. So you can really just pinch that down it zips up and it covers your face when you move your head back and forth.
So it doesn’t blind you the overall fit and feel is spot-on to what I would expect from Marmot wearing a medium right now, I’ve just got a lightweight t-shirt underneath of it and it does fit pretty close to the body. It is an athletic fit coat papers in through the arm. This is a piece that fits into a small vest pack pocket and you pull it out when the weather changes when you get to the top of the peak or when the Sun Goes, Down and you’re still moving.
It won’t slow you down, like some other bulkier shelves, but it’ll go a long way and keeping you comfortable. So you can stay outside longer and at the weight of under five ounces. It’s the perfect light weight option. It’s the Marmot women’s air light jacket, thanks for watching. I’m wearing the Marmot women’s Avant climates this winter workhorse is a great choice for folks seeking an alternative to the traditional down. Puffy. Let’s check it out the big story on this jacket is the insulation. Marmot uses a synthetic 3m, Thinsulate recycled featherless insulation to make the Avant a toasty option that rivals similar jackets that use 700 fill power down. The big advantages to synthetic insulation are the durability and the ability to hold in body heat, even when wet Wow I would still pair it with a hard shell for days when precipitation is expected, this jacket will hold up to cold damp, New England winters or a light drizzle on the trail.
The outer fabric is a 20 denier, nylon, plain weave, which strikes a nice balance between durability and weight. Speaking of weight. I was really impressed by the compressibility and airiness of this jacket. It even packs down into its own pocket for easy storage. It’s different from traditional hefty synthetic jackets. There’s an attached insulated hood with elastic binding to keep it in place. The full length zipper allows for easy layering. It also features two zippered hand: pockets and a zippered chest pocket elastic, binding around the cuffs and a draw cord at the hem help to seal out the cold.
It’s a regular fit, so you can comfortably put a base layer or even a mid layer underneath I’m wearing size medium with a long sleeve shirt underneath and it’s the perfect fit for me. If you have either ethical or condition driven reasons to seek out a synthetic jacket or you just want to try something different. This is a great alternative to your typical down. Puffy and it’ll become your all-around a winter staple. Jacket, it is fully waterproof and with a longer length you have more coverage on windy rainy days. It looks like more of an urban jacket, but it has the waterproof breathable performance. You can expect from Marmot in a technical, hiking garment, it’s made with recycled fabrics and PFC free trims, so you can feel even better wearing it. Let’s take a closer look: it’s made with waterproof and breathable membrane Eco fabric and all the seams are taped to keep water out.
This works well, when layering underneath and the longer length means you have extra coverage when the weather turns there’s an attached hood, but it tucks out of the way, if you don’t need it, the stand-up collar looks nice and protects your neck. Even when the hood is stowed away, there are zippered hand, pockets and one pocket on the inside for small valuables, the adjustable cuffs work well with gloves and the storm flap on the zipper seals out.
The rain I’m wearing size medium with the sweater on underneath, and it fits perfectly. This is marmots regular fit, so they give you room to move and room to layer underneath this has the technical performance you’d expect in a rugged hiking shell, but it has the aesthetics to be able to wear downtown. Degree sleeping bag, it has a relaxed mummy cut for those of us who move around in our sleep, there’s an extra zipper on the side to regulate temperature and it’s filled with treated down. So you get the best benefits of down without the worry of it, getting wet in humid climates backpackers, who want a good value and want something lightweight, but don’t want a close-fitting mummy cut will love this bag. Let’s take a look starting at the top. The hood is really wide. So for me, that means a large camp pillow will fit in there.
The bag stays wide until you get to below the knee area. This allows you to sleep on your side with bent knees and not feel crammed. There’s plenty of room around your shoulders to toss and turn, and a little extra zipper on the side allows you to open up the top of the bag and create a quilt like feeling. If you get too warm, you can unzip from the bottom to vent your feet or release the entire zipper and sprawl out on colder nights that are getting close to this bags. Comfort level.
You can batten everything down cinch the hood secure the zippers tight and you’ll have all the best benefits of a thermal efficient, mummy style bag. The Teton 15 traps in your body, heat with 650 fill powered down. Marmot goes to great lengths to guarantee the down certification. So you know you’re getting the best quality. The plumes are treated with down defender, which is a water repellent coating that ensures the down stays, drier longer, maintains loft if it gets damp and dries out faster than untreated down.
Most importantly, it retains its ability to keep you warm even if it gets wet the nylon rip. Stop shell fabric has a durable water, repellent treatment to further protect that insulation. A few of the small details make a big difference in comfort, especially when camping in cold weather, Marmot uses ground-level side seams because heat rises, a lower seam makes it difficult for by heat, to escape through the zipper and the scene. There’s a draft tube to seal out the cold and a comfy collar to keep your heat at your core.
The foot box has a wraparound construction to increase warmth rather than having multiple baffles at your feet for a 15 degree bag. It packs down pretty small in the included stuff sack but stow it in the larger storage sack when it’s at home. This is a warm high-quality sleeping bag for a great price. It has features to keep you comfortable with a down defender. You can head into the backcountry and know you have a warm place to rest. At the end of the day, it’s the women’s Marmot, Teton 15 degree sleeping bag.

Down jacket, that is extremely versatile. It is great as a stand alone, piece in mild to chilly temperatures, and it is also great for layering. It has got the perfect balance of warmth to weight. The first thing to call out about this jacket is the premium high quality 800 fill power of goose down So, you have got ultra packable design here, It packs down to be really small. It is lightweight It weighs in around 12 7 ounces.
With that you have got really small baffles here. These baffles are great because it is not going to have unwanted shifting of down in the jacket. It provides really even heat. Distribution It is going to keep you nice and toasty. Warm And, like I, said it is ideal as a standalone piece like I am wearing it today, but it is lightweight enough. It doesn’t feel too bulky. You can wear it underneath layers. The features here are streamlined and simple.
True to its ultra-lightweight design, You have got 10 denier fabric on the outside. Here, That is pertex quantum fabric It is very light weight, but it is also durable, very high quality fabric. There And that fabric also kind of reflects your heat back to you as well. So, not just the down insulation is keeping you warm, but that fabric there is lightweight, and that is keeping you warm as well And up against maybe a light snow or a very light rain that fabric the water is going to bead up and run off, but it is definitely not a waterproof jacket by any means.
Looking at the features here, you have got a full length. Zipper It is a very light weight, zipper Down at the bottom hem you do have a stretchy draw cord that you can adjust in two spots there in the front. You have got two hand level pockets here so nice and warm for chilly hands. Down at the cuff, just a stretchy Lycra, cuff There is no adjustability there But, it is really comfortable. You have got a nice collar here as well So when you zip it up.
If you don’t have the hood on, you can just protect you neck there with the collar But. Also, you just have stretchy Lycra around the hood So. There is really no adjustability in the hood, but it is a small, low profile. Hood So that fits really well around your head. There is a small chest, pocket right up here for smaller items, and then this jacket does stuff down into the left side pocket So. There is a zipper on both sides.
You just turn the jacket inside out stuff it down, and this is the perfect piece if you are hiking or backpacking During the day when you are hiking, you don’t need that layer on, because you kind of work up a sweat while you are hiking, but when you get to camp you cool down, and if you throw this in your backpack, it is so light weight and small that you won’t even notice that it is there Also. If you are climbing, you know attach it to your harness.
That kind of thing It is very lightweight, so it is great to use as that And just the overall fit and feel of this piece. I am wearing a medium now. It is a little bit big, but if I want to wear a lot of layers under it, I would stick with the medium. I am just wearing a light weight t-shirt underneath now, So I would probably size down to a small. If I were going to be wearing this as more of a layering piece and putting things over top of it But, it feels really comfortable on I feel like I can move, You have got Marmot’s angel wing movement in the arms and the back So.
You are definitely going to be able to move in this piece. It is a little bit generous in the fit for that But. Overall, this is just your go to ultra-lightweight down jacket. You have got an excel-lent balance of price and performance of warmth to weight And again for those chillier temperatures, it is going to take the edge off In, really cold temperatures you want to layer it with other items. It is the Marmot Quasar hooded down jacket.
Mr Energy’s extreme energizing women’s Georgina featherless jacket, with a Marmot membrane, waterproof breathable fabric, no matter what weather you’re facing this suckers gonna keep you dry and warm speaking of warm. It’s got 3m sense of a featherless insulation. Remember what I said about warm super warm and it also has tons of storage pockets. You might just lose a chapstick tube in there. Oh yeah.
So, you have got some technical features that are going to be great for taking it into the backcountry So. It would also be great for camping backpacking. You know, whatever else you can throw at it. In those chilly temperatures, This is filled with synthetic material, so that gives it a really budget friendly price But. The synthetic material is Marmot’s proprietary spyrafill synthetic So spyrafill is supposed to mimic. The structure of down. It is packable, It is pretty lightweight And.
Unlike down, it is not going to lose its thermal efficiency when it becomes wet. So synthetic materials re-ally hold up better in damp or wet conditions. If, you are taking this into an area that is really humid. It is going to take on a little bit of moisture and it is going to lose its thermal efficiency, but with synthetic it is not going to do that. It is going to hold up a lot better against those wet conditions. The other materials. Here on the top, you have got a DWR finish: durable water, repellent finish on this taffeta material So.
That is going to be great against condensation from the tent and also in those damp conditions. The synthetic materials are going to dry out really fast if they become wet as well. So. Definitely some great technical features there On the inside of the bag. You also have a taffeta material, but it is a little bit softer on the skin One thing. I, really love about the Trestles sleeping bags is that you do have a full length zipper on the one side. It is a two sided zipper So you can unzip from the one end vent your feet.
If you need to at night, You can obviously unzipper from the top But. You have a shorter zipper on the other side as well So. It is kind of a halfway zipper. It makes it re-ally nice to use the bag in a couple of different ways. So, as you can see, I can just kind of fold that down and it feels more like a blanket at home So. You know this whole flap. If you are a side sleeper, you can kind of tuck it around. You If. You just get really warm at night and you need to vent or if it is on warmer nights, you can definitely use it in a cou-ple of different ways: So.
It is a small detail, but it makes a big difference and it does a lot for just the comfort of the bag in general. While I. Have it open here? I want to call out this a little sash pocket on the inside It is a hidden zipper And. You can just put things in there that you would want to get your hands on quickly at night. This is a traditional mummy style sleeping bag. So, you do have a hood at the top. The hood is nicely baffled and it has got a lot of shaping. Here is with this kind of flat design.
You have got a draw cord on the bottom So that is going to be right under your chin. It is going to hold in the heat around your neck. And, then, on the hood itself, you have an-other draw cord on the top and you can cinch that down If. You are getting close to that temperature rating and you really need to batten everything down. You can do that with those two draw cords at the top And then, since this is a mummy style bag, it does give you enough room in your shoulders that you can move around So, unlike some mummy style, sleeping bags that feel really claustrophobic.
The shoulder girth here gives you enough room, but it does taper into the foot box as well. Just to save on you know, ther-mal efficiency and to make it a little warmer The foot box here is nicely baffled. They certainly give you enough room to move your feet around So again, you are not going to feel claustrophobic in this sleeping bag. It definitely gives you some extra room there Marmot uses EN or European norm ratings for their sleeping bags. And. This is called a 15 degree bag, but he comfort rating is actually around 13 8 degrees.
So. You are going to be pretty comfortable at that temperature in this sleeping bag. But certainly take that EN rat-ing into consideration before taking it out into the elements. It comes in a couple of different sizes, So. That is also something to consider Check out those sizes to see what is going to be most comfortable for you And. A little added bonus that Marmot includes a compression stuff sack with this sleeping bag. So. Not only do you get the stuff sack to put it in, it has got compression straps on the sides And this being a synthetic sleeping bag.
It doesn’t pack down to be as small as some other down bags, so these compression straps are really going to come in handy They are going to save space in your pack. So. All you have to do is stuff the sleeping bag down into this stuff sack and then kind of cinch down those compression straps to save that space So with all the features here with the different sizes and the technical features that are great for the outdoors, but also the budget friendly price. This is a great sleeping bag for a variety of conditions.
It is the Marmot Women’s Trestles 15, Degree Sleeping Bag.
Scott here with Louisville non-sports sequoia mitten, this is a great mitten full on gore-tex, which means it’ll. Keep you really dry, really warm and will be.
