Hi, my name is Jeff Evans with Streamlight I’m here today. To present to you, the 3AAA, HAZLO Trident headlamp, The Trident has a combination of both a close-up soft pattern, beam as well as a distance capable beam for downrange applications. It has two power modes high for maximum illumination and low for battery conservation.

The Trident features a tilting head, the pivots 90 degrees, so you can orient the light towards your application. It has a large push-button switch that you can operate easily with a gloved hand. The Trident also comes with a rubber strap, which fits nicely on a hard hat and won’t allow the light to slip off as well as a cloth.

Strap that’s more comfortable for your head. The light runs on three Triple A batteries. It is class 1, division, 1 rated for hazardous atmospheres. The Trident, with its low beam pattern for more detailed work and hype output, pattern for more distance oriented applications might be the right headlamp for you when you’re, not sure which applications you’re going to run into on the job.

Looking for hands-free lighting with lots of versatility? Well, that’s just what you get with the Trident led xenon combination, headlamp, it’s got a xenon bulb and three LEDs in the same reflector. It’s three position. Lighting lets you select the best combination of lights for the task at hand and you’ll really love the blinding brightness, and you have a spot to flood focus.

Now with three LEDs, you get 24 lumens and if you switch to one LED, this will run up to a hundred fifty hours on three Triple A batteries. Hey folks, Chris here with your beside doors out in the shop today getting hot here, so we haven’t been able to get out a lot, but we have a cold spell coming up, so we’re going through our gear, making sure everything is ready to go. I just want to do a quick little review on something we started using this year. That has made hunting a little easier for us getting in and out in the mornings and and that’s the Streamlight trident headlamp, it’s an LED c4 LED headlamp.

This is the Trident sponsored by buck masters and well. We started using this. We actually switched over to using green LEDs to get in and out at night or in the dark last year and had a lot of success with that. Didn’t spook the game near as much actually walked up on several nice bucks early in the morning that didn’t spook it all. Let us walk right up on it and I know for a fact.

If I was using a white light, I’d have never even seen them so this lights, nice, it’s a headlamp style, so it gives you hands-free. It has three LED modes: a low high vis, green, a high high vis, green and then a white LED, so comes from Streamlight, and this blister pack comes with three Triple A batteries and also comes with a rubber, strap I. Guess if you wanted to mount it on a helmet or something like that, more of a permanent mount instead of using the standard strap here, that’s mounted on it already real easy.

It’s just like I said three Triple A batteries and they go in this nice little battery holder. The only thing you have to do when you put it back together, there’s a red arrow and then there’s also a red arrow inside here, and you just have to line those up when you put it back together and then put it on so real nice easy, not a special battery like I said just standard triple-a takes three of them and you know you don’t have to go around look for some special watch battery or camera battery or something expensive just standard battery.

So it’s great. If I had one complaint about it, it would be that to turn it off. So if I go in in the morning or come out at night coming out at night, it’s not a big deal, but if I go in in the morning and I’m using the hive is green. When I get to the stand and I want to shut it off, I can’t just turn it off. I have to go through the high the standard white LED. So just something to be aware of that, you know just have to cover it when you turn it off kind of defeats.

The purpose, if you go in with the green and then you’re at the stand- and you turn it off and it goes to the the bright white so but other than that we love it, we’re all using them, and it’s been really good for us, so just want to give you a quick little review of it. So let us know.

Say hello to my little friend this is a um one most, I think one of the most important and under emphasized pieces of equipment you can have, and that is a good headlamp. This is a streamlight trade-it. I’ve had this headlamp for about three years. It’s been reliable. In fact, I liked it so much. I bought it as a second one for backup that rubber strap I’ve never used.

I’ve just been using the headband after three years, this thing’s starting to loosen up, but I don’t have it tightened up all the way. So it’s starting to lose a little bit has lost a little bit of its elasticity. So what is it about this headlamp that I like it is, I think it’s supposed to be water resistant though I haven’t really tested it on that front.

It holds up in cold weather fairly. Well, it has two settings for a green light and then it throws a high beam. I like the green light. I like the multiple brightness settings on it. Typically, when I’m walking um at o’dark 30 in the morning out to wherever it is I’m going hunting, I usually have just the one led.

If I’m looking around, I need a little bit more ambient light. Then I use two and then from something that I really need to look at then I’ll just throw the the high beam on there. It throws a light pretty far and the green light does not seem to mess with uh my night vision and it actually provides more ambient light than a red light and I’ll show a little experiment with that in it in a little bit.

What don’t I like about this lamp, the headlamp it can get kind of heavy, sometimes seems to fit better on some hats than others um. It’s bulky so wad this thing up, stick it in your pocket or in your pack or whatever it takes up a little bit of space. The other thing I don’t like is this button here, even though it’s recessed, I still had this button hit by accident.

While I was in my pack- and I pulled it out like a week later and found that it was on now- there is a um low battery indicator right there, which is helpful. It does work. I’ve had this thing run out on batteries, I mean before um see. One thing I like about this thing: is it’s not like a typical headlamp where it’s got the battery compartment and it flops open like this.

This thing is screwed in right here: um the batteries in this headlight will actually last quite a while I’ve I can put in fresh batteries, and that will last me an entire hunting season. If I’m going like on a seven-day trip, then I will put fresh batteries in it and I’ll change them out later or um at the beginning of a hunting season.

I’ll just put some fresh batteries in this thing. This, as better usage, goes. This thing seems to use one battery at a time. I’ve pulled them out and checked them, and I thought only one battery was draining the other two looked: okay, usually when I’m storing this thing for a long term, I’ll pull the batteries out just to prevent any type of battery seepage.

It um. If you see that right there, I’m sorry that right here this only goes in one way, just like that. You put the cap on and I just hand tight um. I think I’ve said already. I’ve used this thing three years. The only complaints I have about it is a little heavy, a little bulky and uh. Sometimes this switch can get turned on by accident other than that.

I’ve been really happy with this thing and I like the light color, it preserves my night vision. It’s very utilitarian. It’s very simple to operate. It’s not like you have to hold down a button or anything just sim, just three simple button clicks and that’s it and um when you’re hunting by yourself. This is one of the most important pieces of equipment you have because if you go out on the evening hunt and your headlamp screws up getting back to camp is going to be a little bit difficult, and that is why this is important.

You want to make sure you have a good headlamp if you’re going to be out in the mountains by yourself after dark all right I’ll show you uh a little clip just messing around with red, green and blue lights, all right, streamlight, trident lowest power, setting lowest light setting my daughter’s handiwork. This is a green light test.

All right now try the red light yeah. It makes a huge difference even on this camera red light is on maximum power. Now we setting on the green now this light is more cast of red light farther than my other headlamps. You can barely see it as opposed to the green light lowest power setting medium power. Setting yeah green light makes a huge difference: military flashlight, you know I should try the blue setting just to see what that looks like.

Let’s try, blue light yeah blue light. Um casts a good light too. I don’t know if it keeps your night vision as well as red or green, but that clearly makes a difference. Let’s try the green again now streamlight right. It only has two settings on the green light. This uh. Actually this other flashlight and I think, was just also streamlined, streamlight sidewinder, it’s pretty close.

I think the blue light just a stitch brighter whether or not it keeps your night vision or not. I don’t know all right, not much else to say this has been a good headlamp and there are probably better headlamps out there more expensive. This thing I think I spent about 30 dollars for and I gladly bought another one.

This thing has been worth every penny and I highly recommend it anyway have a good one. The elk, I could say the same in 2020.
