hey guys let. Me welcome you back to the channel my name is Justin. And you’re watching survival mindset today. What we’re going to be looking at is the Cabala’s caught nightstand right here. Ijust reviewed the cot the XL cot. And the cots are awesome. Idecided to get the nightstand here’s. What it looks like all the way down. It’s actually a really nice nightstand to have with. Any caught it’s full-length. It can fit a rifle or a shotgun your fishing poles. Many of accessories its multi compartments we’re good with medications clothing toiletries. More the Cabala’s caught nightstand will fit the outfitters XL in the alaskan guide cots so yeah only two different cots. You can put and actually the XL Outfitters by Cabala’s is an excellent. On the dimensions on. This nightstand are 80 inches long. And 14 inches high it can hold a lot of weight as. You guys can see I got a couple knifes in their right. You could put a beer there. Igot a knife their cigarettes books. Anything and everything can fit in here so remember guys also too with your rifles with the scope. It will fit most of them in there as well sometimes with scopes. They run higher or lower so always check on. That before you take. It out so let’s look at. This real close so I can show. All the compartments.
You got a compartment here. They show toilet paper being held in there I’m not going to be using. Idropped my flashlights in there. Ihaven’t got everything all set up. You do have a pocket below. One as well sorry about the lighting in here it’s getting kind of dark right. You do have a pocket here as well very nice. One zips open so one zips open like. That goes down you know a good 10 to 12 inches. You do have a pocket here on. And the pocket with the two knifes. You go down about eight inches in. This pocket in front of. It zips open like so. And then you have this mesh liner. You have a hook here to hang your keys right here. You got a beer cup holder that’s very handy down here. You got a mesh pocket a long mesh pocket goes. All the way to this end so yeah that’s a couple feet right there. And it’s always nice to have a mesh pocket.
It helps like electronics breathe what-have-you but. This going to be a short review on the Cabala’s cot nightstand. This five stars it’s a five meaning the best it’s an excellent product over. All thanks for watching you’re watching survival mindset peace.
We are taking a closer look at the pack able lightweight. And very affordable Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Venture WV Sleeping Pad Stand out feature here is. That you have got all the durability. And the great features. That you would expect from Therm-a-Rest in a very affordable package And unlike. Some other inflatable sleeping pads. That feel more like a raft. Or like a pool raft. These horizontal baffles give. You a really bed style feel So. This is a fully inflatable pad That allows. It to pack down to be really small You could throw. It in your pack when. You are traveling or back packing So. It makes it a really great back-packable option You have got an R value of 18 with. This pad So it is definitely meant for warmer temperatures And with the lightweight. And affordable nature of. This pad you can definitely pair. It with a lightweight closed cell foam pad like. Ihave right here These are also very lightweight. And affordable And if. You are going into the back country in colder temperatures.
You can use one of these to pair with the NeoAir Venture. And you will get that R value up a little bit. More But all in all. This is meant for warmer temperature backpacking and camping You have got. All the features you would expect from the high quality of Therm-a-Rest You have got really durable materials here on the top. And bottom And on the top here. You do have kind of brushed fabric a brushed finish So. That keeps noise down These does have a little bit of noise as. You are sleeping on. It and as you are moving but. It is not as crinkly. Or as crunchy as some other pads. That I have seen in. This style So if that is. Something that would bother. You as you are sleeping at night. You know this would definitely cut down on. That noise with the brush fabric there Up here at the top. You have a really nice durable valve And.
These valves are really easy to use. Ireally appreciate. How you can use the Therm-a-Rest valves to make minor adjustment as. You are sleeping on the pad So as. Isaid this is a fully inflating pad Once. You have it all the way inflated. This valve makes it really easy as. You are laying on it to adjust. It Some people like to kind of sink down into heir sleeping pad to be. More comfortable And. You can use this valve for. That purpose Again it seems like a really durable valve. That is going to last a long time And just. All the seams on this pad have the durability. That you would expect from Therm-a-Rest This pad comes in four different sizes small medium regular.
And large The small is 20 inches wide by 47 inches long. And that would be a great three-quarter inch pads. If you are looking to save weight. Or for a youth or shorter individuals The medium is 20 inches wide by 66 inches long The regular is also 20 inches wide but at 72 inches long And then the large is 25 inches wide so. You get a bigger girth. And it is 77 inches long So. That gives you a little bit. More sprawling comfort with the different sizes of. This pad Therm-a-Rest also includes a stuff sack So. This does pack down to be pretty small The inflation deflation valve is really easy to use It does. Most of the work for you. When you deflate it So in the morning when. You are ready to pack up camp. Iwould just undo the valve pack up.
Everything else and let. It does its thing But. You just have to pack. It down into the included storage sack. And throw it into your pack All in. All this is a really great option for backpackers campers. Or travelers who are looking for an inflatable pad. That is really comfortable durable but is also very affordable It is the Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Venture WV Sleeping Pad.
Thanks for tuning into the move otx get review channel. You haven’t figured. It out by we are still focusing on my outdoor adventuring and camping gear so. Ijust got back from a two-day overnight stay in the Santa Cruz Mountains in California with my son. And his fellow Boy Scouts. We had a blast I want to talk about my system overall. Iwant to also talk about the therm-a-rest NeoAir venture. And that’s my air pad. Iused for the first time for this trip. This outing because there’s not a lot of videos out there about the venture there’s a lot of other therm-a-rest pads. And they’re all kind of the same thing but. You got to pick a pad. That really fits what you want. All folds up and rolls into your entire sleeping system. You have so let’s get the Swiss sport trekker bag out of the way. You guys saw that in my other video go ahead. And check that out it’s a 30-degree bag but. It also fits right in line with the entire system as a whole so let’s see the start with the therm arrest the therm arrest pad is first of. All — air pad it’s 5 centimeters thick like. All well like all air pads with a thermal wrists name. That kind of crinkly. And crunchy kind of sound but honestly.
Ithink that’s what we’re played a little bit. Inever had found at. That bothersome at it definitely is not as crunchy as like a potato chip bag. Or a mylar balloon anything like. That it’s crunchy like a muted kind of crunchiness to. It so let’s move my clothing out of the way let’s get to. That later let’s talk about the thermal risk first ok so like. This is 5 centimeters fixed. When it’s fully inflated actually you’ve seen you’re seeing it deflated not. Because I’m gonna show. Iinflated but it’s five centimeters. When it’s fully inflated. It has an r-value of -. Ithink maybe a little bit higher the middle but a little bit. Then — but to supplement. What you’re saying is a layer of reflect ix a reflect ix is like home building material RV campers use.
All the time to insulate their windows so the reflect ix has about an hour value of 25. Ibelieve I don’t quote. That go ahead and look up reflect –ax reflect IX basically. And look I should probably add. It to the commentary below but at. Any rate this adds at our value of about 2 in addition to the r-value of 2 for the therm-a-rest venture. And cooked together. They work great I had no problems being called temperatures. This weekend and Santa Cruz Mountains dropped down to about the upper 40s. And in the upper 40s. They start to get cold. You start feeling it especially. If you’re only in a 30-degree bag okay. You don’t pick out your base layer clothing wisely. You don’t monitor your temperatures wisely. You will feel cold therm arrest ear pads not the self inflating one’s mind. This is not a self inflating pad by the way so. You have to blow into the air inlet okay. Icould blow this up with about 24 big breaths of air but unfortunately after 10.
Istart to get faint. And dizzy and not a pleasant experience. That very unpleasant so. Iwent also in investigate events invested in. This therm-a-rest neo air like a bellows inflator. It basically looks like a dry sack. It kind of is clay basically sir it’s basically a dry sack. You fill up with air. It to inflate your thermo rest pad okay so. Iapologize for being off-camera let’s try. And out there what you do is. You take this clear rubber piece right their can. That it’s kind of sticky. You just place and stretch. That over the air inlet. And I’m gonna try this on camera so. You can really see this here. Because as part of your learning curve. You go out there and get set up for your base camp. You basically just kind of stretch. It on there we go just like.
That so it’s not like screwed down. Anything really firm. Or rigid so you have to kind of be careful don’t pull. It off just leave that set. It back down again imagine we’re in my tent. It back down just like. What you want to do is get. This bag loose it kind of inflated with there I’m gonna do. This off camera just a little bit it’s just too big here it’s basically filled. You basically fill it up put your arm in your hand open up your hand inside out. It inside and then. You want to cinch closed the top of the bag by the drawstring and. You want to just kind of roll. It up like that okay. You just do this repeatedly okay. You pull it back out okay I’m gonna do. This off camera, so I can get a bigger bag full of air. You guys can hopefully see.
That a little bit more effectively there. You go put my hand back inside there. You go it’s open up just in fact two hands. You put your hands inside of. It gets to really spread out. And balloon out and close. It back up by the drawstring and here. We got a big breath. This time okay and just roll. It up just like that okay see I’m doing. You guys can hear that too okay so. You just roll it up like. This just like and it’s easier in a tent obviously but just like. And just keep doing this. Now as time-consuming as. This appears to be eventually. We get to a point after. Ithink six maybe six. Or seven six or so good sized bags. You get to a point where your air pad is pretty inflated at. That point hey you can go ahead. And manage three or four breaths to really bring it up to a comfortable level of inflation for you.
Ithink at thirty bucks okay is a great investment okay. Unless you’re like you’re really in good shape. You can afford those breaths. You can do that without getting dizzy. Or fatigued for me the average Joe. This is a great investment okay not only. That okay it’s also dry so it’s almost a dry sack okay so. This past weekend number wanted to carry my clothing so. What I did was I put my clothing in here. Ishould I put my clothing in a separate like target plastic bag. Ijust showed that in here okay so. This also contained my clothing for the trip okay. He got to my camp target bag out put my clothes aside went ahead.
And pumped up the new air okay. This also served a third role as my pillow okay so got three things in. One with one piece of gear okay. And it’s featherweight. It weighs nothing it folds up just roll. It up stuff it in my pack. Idon’t need it okays so. This has been a real knockout addition to my load out okay. Idon’t need to carry a dedicated pillow okay. It will make use of my clothing you make use of my extra Chloe. And I’m good to go for. That but most importantly. It allowed me an easy way to inflate my air pad okay so. Something for you guys to consider okay not only. You get an air pad you got to think about. How you’re gonna inflate. It too okays so keep. That in mind it was kind of afterthought to. You honestly that was an afterthought to. You see a lot of product reviewers. Iguess they’re in really good physical condition in a really good shape.
They can just don’t totally blow into their air pads. And not have any problems with. It but for me this was awesome. This was a total awesome addition to my kit in three. Or for three different ways basically — so let’s focus back here on the Sleep System so. You saw my reflect ix pad underneath. This is basically an earth pad so to speak. It just protects the air pad the thermal risks from rocks. And sticks and things like. That of course I go through. And do diligence before. Iput my tent down I’m clearing the earth. And things like that but still. You can’t clutter everything so. This adds an extra layer of safety plus like. Isaid earlier it’s a piece of thermal gear. That reflects heat back into my body. And want to really want to retain. That heat do not want the earth cooling you down in the middle of the night that’s just the worst experience in the world. Ithink you’re basically lying on a drafty ground so speak.
It feels like you’re lying on a draft basically. All the heat just leaving my body leaving my body. This was a major upgrade. This past trip so the new air venture is about 70 bucks. And the reflect ix at my local hardware store again was like eight. Or nine dollars whatever so definitely money well spent at. Some point I will replace the reflect ix with like an eight crate foam therm arrest pad of. Some sort but for now I’m totally good with. This until this thing basically falls apart so that’s the therm-a-rest NeoAir adventurer gets a big top big Tom thumbs up from. Because it’s not mummy shaped. Either so I’m kind of stretcher. And a sprawl er so to speak. Isleep okay so let’s take. You off the candidate so the whole thing is square um. And my mummy sack my mummy sack over there fits right on. It really nicely okay so. Ifind I like to stretch. And move around a lot. Isleep so the smaller mummy shaped pads.
Ifigured would be like. Me rolling off a cliff basically at night. Something that didn’t do’t really appeal to. Imean who knows maybe. Icould try a friend’s. And borrow someone someday. This would become us obsolete but for now hey. This is great from head to toe I’ve got a lot of room to sprawl out. And stretch out I don’t really take a white penalty. This entire pad is only about a pound. And a half maybe it rolls up to about the size of a Nalgene bottle I’m gonna do here’s the carry case by the way so here’s here’s the carry case again it’s again like. Isaid but the size of a Nalgene bottle really compact. And nicely lightweight so. Ialso want to talk about. This that’s the therm arrest so. You guys could probably log off here. You wanted to do is take a look at the therm arrest but. Ialso think philosophy of use has to play a big part of. This in my overall system okay so. You saw my Swiss sport trekker bag as a 30 degree bag but on top of.
That really the key element for me has been my base layer clothing okay, so I’ve made a significant investment of investment but. Iput significant time in upgrading my base layer of clothing and. This dry release type of fabric sports clothing okay so. This is like my long johns basically. This was right up on my skin. It keeps my skin dry so. Though the first half of the night it’s warm like 60°. Or 65 70 degrees whatever the temperature is. Ifirst go to bed I’m not hot. And sweating okay that is a huge mistake. Ithink people really overlook. Ioverlooked it personally. Isweat a lot in the first half of the night then the middle of the night comes around. It gets into the 40s guess. What I’m cold okay no matter. What I do at that point. Ican’t get warm and it’s a cycle okay. Ithink okay I’ll put. More clothing on well you’re basically wrapping more clothing over your wet clothing and it’s just a horrible feeling and it’s a cold feeling I mean.
Some of the most bitter cold. It doesn’t have to be bitter cold to feel bitter cold basically is the learning curve. Iwas on ok so just. Because it’s 48 49 degrees hey no big deal but. If you’re a base layer of clothing is wet cut. That in half ok you feel. It feels like 20 degrees ok so that’s that’s my Long John pants. This is kind of like my top it’s a an apologize. Ionly have one hand to do. This here but in yours it’s a dry release kind of fabric. They call. It yeah dries really dry release fabric is. What they call and it’s a really thin ok sports athletic wear ok. It doesn’t offer much by way of insulating layers ok so here’s your base layer dry ventilation. And the next layer is my insulation layer which. Ihave used fleece I like fleece I’m comfortable with fleece but I’m not married to the idea overall. You guys think hey I’ll throw. This out to you guys.
You guys think wool would be a better insulation layer for me on top of my base layer definitely post the comments below I’d really love to read your comments on. That so I’ve always used please. Ifind it very comfortable. This is a Timberland long sleeve sweatshirt. That I’ve had for probably 15 years. It just keeps on going strong the sleeve is kind of the sleeve stitch the sleeve stitching blew out but heck. This is so comfortable at night. All the time it Footwear definitely wool socks must-have period. And a discussion you don’t want again layered up sweaty feet. You want warm fabric. That wicks away moisture. And keeps your feet dry at the same time. This was a major upgrade over just.
Whatever cotton athletic sports socks. Ihad wool socks these from Costco I’m gonna pack of four for like 18 15 bucks. Something like I cannot believe. Ididn’t upgrade to wool socks years ago oh must of. You guys you know you guys take. Anything if you guys take. One data point out of. This video take one wool socks for your feet oh it’s just so unbelievably warm. And comfortable when you’re at night. And it’s cold so it guys okay. Icould say something more but quite honestly. Imight say something feel free to post comments. And questions I welcome the discussion so. This has been a quick review of the therm-a-rest NeoAir venture as well as. Some side commentary on my sleep systems overall I’ll catch. You guys later stay safe out there have fun. Everybody and enjoy the outdoors adios guys.
hi this is a going to be equipped with. You about my new sleep mat the firm OV s neo rare venture sleep map it’s got a lock of tissue type base insulation in. And it’s a blow-up mattress. Yet a blow-up yourself but um I’ve got fed up using the foam mattresses. Iburst in press all the areas of solid ground but in a way I’ll get. This for the colder months. And just for a bit more comfort basically just. Another option on cost. Me about fifty-four pounds of think the average phone belt. That to sixty pounds but don’t know. Me like to spend a lot. And sleeping mats but as. Igot fed up with having uncomfortable night sleeps so. Ithought obvious get. And take it goes it’s got a value of 18. This one’s the regular I’m 5 foot 6 so largely too much. And medium I thinkI’ll be like overhanging it a bit better for me but why it’s 51 boy 183 centimeters. Once blowing up its fossa nice fit apparently. It weighs five hundred. And sixty grams and get stuff sack. And repair kit comes off with squash but. It comes in this weird shape dong fake books warning yeah common sense bill foam iris alcohol what’s. This huh miss you clean. And patch it up just a basic patch. And then we use duct tape. That mommy just job for another big stuff set black. You like I want are. You do ball camping would get your gear out. You do it is like standing out from half a mile so blacks good green quite green glass 12:03 blaring there the focus on the top.
Idon’t know what that’d be like sleeping I don’t was gone get in the way but. This is a little bit. More put bit easier to get to. And the interesting to find out so of course. Any problems are not really think but feel the tissue II sort of bracing there oh let’s get. This blowing up what it looks like well that’s. It blow up it took about twenty-three breaths for me 23:24 so quite a. Ihad to sort of stop off a freak so skinhead rush but. They need soccer a bad thing. You can put around here. You feel that the back of just not sweat. And squeeze it was positioning which will be better. Than your own breath your own birth has condensation in.
What causes condensation just to make. And colder inside so just a natural surrounding air will be better but anyway so 23:24. Imight do less for it to be softer but that’s. It blow up does actually look really comfortable. It feels so strange fill top to bubble wrap Sufi so will. You know is the stuff inside. These columns I don’t know. Each coin but there’s. That to see sort of stuff inside to help keep them. And stuff as I say but it’s aa little nipple. And fell from the top here um triangle to put. Me out the wave like. You had your head up here with. And not to King on that bit on top there but. Iguess it’s easier to find it lip. More air out of your new tea. This is not look hard round bracelet. And already feels really comfortable really soft. Now he’s my daughter’s glasses case just to compare the size of. It he’s just a little bit lower they’ve got quite a lot of fitness.
Now the material itself. Idon’t know this feels fin but I’ve heard a lot good reviews about here people. Iknow who use them a lot recommend them. Iwould really like to pay 50 quid for a sleep man I’m normally. That does cheap round but. You go quite a few times. You get fed out of being uncomfortable, so I’m hoping this is done the job. Iwouldn’t want to pay. Than 50 is about 50 feet quid. That so that’s the bonus new your venture sleep
Hi I’m justice with the rest today. We are going to go over the different ways to inflate your neo air mattress we’ll cover five methods the first is using your breath the second is using the Neo air pump back looks like. This the third is using a pump sack that’s included with. Many Neo air mattresses. This guy fourth using the Neo air mini pump. And last but not least is our new air torrent prop inflating using your breath is the. Most traditional and dependable method. It is a good plan B for all the other methods. You always have your breath. One unique thing about Neo air mattresses is. All the materials inside are coated so unlike down. Or synthetic fill you don’t have to worry about condensation creating mold so. That took me just over 30 breaths. And about a minute and a half. We have two different pump sacs there is a smaller pump sack. That comes with many neo air mattresses. And then we have our larger pump back. This is a great multi-use piece it’s a very large stuff sack. It works really well as a pack liner. And for inflating your mattress.
We have a piece at the end with a small hole in. You just fit that hole over the fowl make sure your valve is twisted open completely. And then you simply create. Some volume inside the puck sack. And roll the air into the mouth. It is fully inflated. Ilike to grab the valve down here. And twist not letting much air out. And then you just pull. It off so that took about three fills of the pop sack. One minute and 10 seconds the Neo air mini pump comes with. All of our NeoAir all season mattresses it’s also sold separately. It weighs about 2 ounces without batteries so. It doesn’t add much to your pack weight up really easy to use start out by unrolling your mattress. And twist the valve make sure it’s.
All the way open you pull the flap cover off starts automatically pull out the nozzle. It over the belt it works so our mini Punk took about three. And a half minutes and pretty much no effort the NeoAir torrent pump uses. Either four cr123 batteries. It can plug into a car adapter I’m showing it here with the Neo air dream mattress start out by opening the valve. You insert the nozzle over the valve. And switch this the NeoAir torrent pump took just about two minutes. Now we’ve covered five different ways to inflate your new air mattress hopefully. That will help in your next adventure.
Everyone bent from let. Me survive and today we’re going to be taking a look at a great product from therm-a-rest. This is their NeoAir xterm so. This is the neo air X term. Now neo air is their line of ultra lightweight inflatable mattresses. This is the X term sub meaning. That it’s a four-season. It has a great warmth to weight ratio. It comes in at an r-value of 57. It is just a great padI’ve been using thermo rest pads for years. And years and especially in their NeoAir line. They make a ultralight. One for three seasons to season. And then they make the x-term for those cooler months so that’s the. That we’re going to be taking a look at today. You can see just how small. It packs right down into. This stuff sack and it’s very lightweight so the Neo xterm comes in a small stuff sack we’re going to be taking a look at. It today as well as putting it in. This new Katonah tent. This is their all new badger. Iknow a lot of you guys are excited to see. That will be coming up in an upcoming review so. We pop the pad out of the stuff sack here. You can see just how small. Now since this is their ex therm it’s a little bit thicker. And a little bit bigger.
Some of their other neo air mattresses so. You don’t necessarily want. Something that’s as warm. You can get by with the pad that’s about half. This size I might take a look at those in a future video the greatest thing about. This bag it comes with as. You can see on the bottom of. This bag it’s basically like a dry bag but on the bottom of the bag here. This plastic that allows. You to do is it allows. You to put it over the nozzle on the pad. And then you can use air to pump up the pad. It does go relatively quick so. We just extend the pad out here want to get. All the folds and things like. That out of it extend. That out we can just open the valve here. Ilike to just put my hand in the bag. And then just push the nozzle right through the plastic so. You can see you just open the nozzle there. And then you just press the plastic. That allows you to do is fill up. This bag with air and then quickly compress the sack here. It blows all the air into the mattress without using your breath.
Another thing I wanted to mention is. You can purchase these bags separately. Iknow I’ve seen them at REI it’s worth picking one up. If your particular mattress didn’t come with. Something like this but it’s very easy basically just open the front of the bag shut. And then you just put the air in open. It pumps the air in couldn’t be simpler. You don’t have to blow. You don’t have to wave. This around simply just open. And shut and enough air goes in there. You can pump this pad right up. Once you’re done blowing up your mattress. You can just reach inside. And then shut off the nozzle. And simply just pull the bag off plus. It makes a cool bag for clothes. Something like however have the hole in the bottom so. You wouldn’t want to use.
It for water collection. Anything like that but. It does make the sort a nice diddy bag. You can use this for all your other mattresses. That have that type of nozzle so as. You can get this pad in regular. Or Maxx the regular is. More mummy shaped and then the max is. More rectangular they also have a regular. And a large that’s got 30d nylon on the top with. More rugged 70d on the bottom to help from punctures. And things like they do of course include a repair kit but it’s very nice pad it’s got their thermo capture layers is. What they call it inside couple different layers in there. And then it’s got triangular baffles. That works really well to keep to the heat inside. When you’re laying on. That hair and warm. It up as I said it’s got a 57 r-value which is really good. And then it’s two and a half inches thick so it’s very comfortable so.
Iwanted to try this external mattress out in. This Katonah one man tent. That I’m testing out. You can see the regular size the mummy shape works perfectly. It actually seems like. It was made for this tent. It fits perfectly in there, so I’m really happy. Igot the regular and not the max but it’s very comfortable the times. Ihave used it so far. Ilook forward to using it in. This one-man tent as. Some further testing so hope. You guys enjoyed the video today taking a look at the neo air x term it’s a great pad for all year round especially. If you’re a cooler sleeper. You can sleep with and a lighter weight sleeping bag for me. That works out great. Ican take a lighter weight sleeping bag. And keep my weight overall in my pack down especially in the warmer months of the year I’m going to leave a link below to therm-a-rest website.
You can check out all the neo air stuff as well as. All their other pads. And things like they come in a variety of colors. And a variety of options as. You can see today one is the diagonal. Or the mummy style you can also get. It in their Exeter max which is. More of a rectangular pad but for using it with the shelter. Iwanted to use it with the mummy works fantastic. Ilove the fact it comes with. That bag to blow up the mattress. That means you don’t have to blow with your air you’re not going to run the risk of getting any condensation. Or moisture in your pad which can turn into mold. And things like you use your breath to blow up the mattress as. Isaid I’m going to put. Some links below to therm-a-rest. You can check out all their other products as well as current pricing I’m also going to place a link to Amazon. You can pick one of these up for yourself hope.
You enjoyed the video today please give it a big thumbs up for me leave. Some comments below please share. This to your friends. And family on social media. You can follow me on my social media as well. And as always guys you haven’t done so click. That red subscribe button subscribe to my channel for more videos.
Made in the USA in Seattle WA the Therm-a-rest Dreamlike provides the ultimate comfort for year round camping when size. And weight or packed size. And weight really aren’t of concern The Dreamlike consists of three elements. And those elements include a thick 3” self inflating pad stacked on top of. That is a plush layer of memory foam. And then a top protective layer with a microfiber surface. That provides just a great next to skin feel. And a comfortable night sleep The self inflating portion of the Dreamlike. You can see is a very thick pad It can be removed entirely. And used independently as a very warm self inflating sleeping base This layer of isotopic memory foam. That lies right over top of. It provides absolute contour hugging comfort; really bolstering the comfort level on. This pad An finally on top.
This protective covering which is removable. And machine washable not only delivers next to skin comfort but. This microfiber top. You know very easily allows. You to brush away dirt. And debris and looks brand-new On the other side of the Dreamlike you’ll see the exit valve here; the exit port for the inflater which makes. This easy to inflate You’ll see a nice haul handle here. And integrated roll up straps with buckling. That makes this really easy to store. And to transport A feature here on the side. Some lash straps that run up the side of the pad. That allow you to couple. It with a second Dreamlike to build your home away from home Therm-a-rest does recommend. You store any self-inflating pad with the integrated valve open When. They ship the pads they are in a compressed state so.
You purchase a new self inflating pad it’s recommended. You open that valve. And give the pad 24 hours. Whatever time you can give it open so. That the foam can rebound a little bit. And get to something closer to full inflation.
Hey guys thanks for tuning in to the latest episode of the Wasatch gear review today we’re going to be looking at the therm-a-rest base camp self inflating sleeping pad so let’s get right to. It first off one of my favorite things about. This pad it is the therm-a-rest. It is made in the USA. Ilove that fact that’s a beautiful thing anything made in the USA. Iwill definitely go for first again like. Isaid this is a self inflating pad. It is an open-cell foam pad. It has an r-value of five. Idon’t know if you guys know. What our values are our values are basically a rating for sleeping pads. Anyone from an R 1 which would be summer no insulation at. All for summer use. All the way up to an R 9 which would be for the middle of winter on top of snow. Or a glacier use this again is the R 5. It is rated for light winter very cold temperatures probably 20 to 20 degrees maybe. Something like that so. This is a pretty nice. One for season this would be a four season sleeping pad the stuff sack does come with.
It that you see here. It does have two compression straps. One on either side so. You can really cinch. It down and roll it tight. Once you’ve got it in the pack let’s get to the dimensions of. This your pad dimensions. When open and blown up for the regular which is. What size this is 72 inches by 20 inches by 2 inches thick so it’s 72 long 20 inches wide 2 inches thick the large version is 77 inches long by 25 inches wide by 2 inches thick. And the extra-large is 77 longs by 30 wide by two inches thick your pact size which is. What you’re looking at right here for the regular which is. What this is five inches around by 21 inches long the large is 51 inches around by 26 inches long. And the extra-large is 353 by 31 inches long so you’re of course the width is going to get longer. And longer as you go from the regular to the large the extra-large sleeping pad by the way.
This is a unisex pad. It is for a man or a woman which is nice the weight for this model which is the regular is 2 pounds 6 ounces so pretty darn light not as light as. You can go then again. This is winter this is. More of a winter one so. You can go lighter if you’re going camping in the summer. Or backpacking in the summer I’d recommend. You go with something lighter. Than this you don’t need. This much r-value for spring summer. And fall really this is for the winter the large size weighs three pounds three ounces. And the extra-large is three pounds 11 ounces the only color. That this bad boy comes in is. What you see right here. It is the blue Knights is. What they call this color. Ifound this is. This is my review on. It I love this pad to death other. Than it is only 20 inches wide. You don’t get much rolling room with. One of these the Alpine design.
One that I just did the recent preview on is 25 inches wide so. Ithink I’m gonna like. That one a lot better. Then this one plus it’s almost 4 inches thick. This is only 2 the R value on. That is less though. This has a better R value. Than the Alpine design. That I did the preview on the latest preview but. Ido find this pad to be with its thickness. It is very warm again it’s 2 inches thick the pad has expanded die-cut foam on the inside. That provides a dependable insulation. And great cushioning from the cold hard ground so. Ido like this very much. This is the one I’ve been using quite a bit. And now on my next adventure. You will see this 4 inch.
Or 3 and 3/4 inch thick by 25 wide I’m gonna use. This on the next adventure. Igo on so you guys will see. This in action I’ve never used. This before that’s why I did the preview on. It this is the one I’ve been using for months. Now absolutely enjoy. It absolutely wonderful alright guys, so I’m going to take. It out of the stuff sack. Now undo this compression strap do. This compression strap over undo the cinch tie stuff sack there’s your stuff sack here is your pad. Now unlike the other. On the last one which is the Alpine design inflatable air mattress. This again is the self inflating air mattress. You can see it’s not quite as wide totally 20 inches compared to the 25 wide the other pad roll around.
Now this is self inflating so. All you’re supposed to have to do is open. That air valve that. Ijust opened you open. That up and you let. It is and this thing will start sucking the air in. And I haven’t really timed. How long this one takes to do to inflate on its own. Because I’m impatient so. When I get to camp. Ijust blow it up with my. You know with the air in my lungs so for the sake of. This demonstration and not waiting for this to self inflate I’m going to blow. It up so there’s the pad blown up your two inches thick 20 wide by 72 long mexico pads. Igotta say I’ve slept. Many nights on this thing and. This is probably one of the motors. More comfortable pads. That I own I think. That Alpine design is gonna be the. Most comfortable but. It is probably the most weight out of the three.
That I own now I also own the therm-a-rest trail Scout that’s only an inch. And a quarter thick but. It is 25 wide which is a nice wide pad. Iwill be doing a review on. That soon well that’s. It for this review guys until next time be safe.

Hey I’m Brandon and I’m going to show. How to inflate the Neo air camper speed valve first thing you want to do is take the mattress. It out flats next make sure. This inner valve is completely tucked in. That the little valve is closed to inflate you’re going to blow into. This opening holding it open with your hands blow into. It like you’re blowing out candles to a birthday cake. And keep your mouth approximately 6 inches away. Once it’s completely inflated to about three inches. You roll up this feed valve the two top straps should be touching with. That inner valve stuck completely inside roll. It up tightly approximately seven to eight times. All the way to the end of the speed belt. And then buckle the top strap. You can lay on and use the little valve to adjust pressure as needed to deflate. It simply unbuckles and the patent-pending self reversing valve will just open up. You put extra pressure on. And let the air out. And there you have it.
This bed has never flat pumped technology meaning. That the bed truly never goes flat there’s a silent pump. That kicks on throughout the night. It senses any drop in pressure so. You can rest assured. That the bed will maintain the same level of firmness throughout the night. Another feature that makes. This airbed unique is. It has a self inflating option. You plug you turn it on the desired firmness setting the bed inflates. And then it shuts off on its own so. You can set and forget. It’s also unique about. That feature is it has a self deflating option as well so clean up is just as easy additional features of. This bed is the flocs top. This Velveteen material allows your sheets to stay in place throughout the night the supportive coil construction really does make. This bed feel like your bed at home the problem with regular air beds is. They get saggy over time rest assured. And welcome to another rock family video. Iam your host just Afr it. And due to the popularity of the crack grande truck sent. One of their double cameras for review set. It up for you and show. You about some of its features so it’s its quite small as. You can see so you can easily fit. This in your you’re climbing pack. You can just kind of latch. It to the outside it’s 20 ounces so it’s quite light. This stuff sack is actually attached to the hammock so. That makes it really convenient so the first thing you pull out the hammock are. These small pieces of cord. All of the features of. This hammock I thought were really well done it’s simple it’s light but it’s very effective so. One of the simple features of. You string this hammock up. What this is its just a piece of cord. They double and then. They tied a couple overhand knots on. You string the hammock up. You need to adjust the hammock. These two knots you can just tie. More overhand knots in. This piece of the tree. And that’s how we’re going to hang the hammock so let’s pull. It out so first thing again first thing about the hammock is its a very light parachute nylon so. That keeps the weight down again. This is 20 ounces so it’s quite light. These simple features about. You know it’s very effective it’s simple keeps the weight down. They have a small carabiner. This is like a carabiner. You can get at a hardware store. This isn’t like a climbing grade carabiner so.
What they did is I’ll come in close. What they did is they just ran cord through the loop at the end of the hammock. And girth hitch that through so that’s. One big girth hitch there. And then they just girth hitch to the carabiner so really simple but. It works really well just take. And click the other so the stuff static is attached so. That makes it easy you’re not gonna lose. Anything it’s very comfortable very lightweight. They have various colors of belief. One is kind of dark blue. Or purple and brown so. You can easily get into. It just fit in and then lean back. And relax so come on in. Iwant to talk to you about crag hammock etiquette so. One of the last busy weekends. Iwas at the New River Gorge. We went to a popular spot. And there is people everywhere well. One of the biggest problems were. Some some of the climbers. And their crag hammocks. What they were doing is. They were actually blocking the trail. And putting their hammocks too close to the wall so.
It just became it was inhibiting to. All the other climbers in the area so don’t be. That climber you know make sure. That you’re off of the trail don’t block the trail with your hammock there was actually. One guy who was literally blocking the trail. That was a problem so don’t block the trail with your hammock don’t be. If there’re trees right next to the wall right next to the cliff line. Where people are climbing and belaying and try to communicate with their climber don’t put your hand weak there try to step off to the side so. Ijust wanted to kind of say. That is a little bit of a kind of public service announcement about crag hammock etiquette. And with that it’s been. Another rock climber Lite video be sure to check out the blog rock climber live com for more thanks for watching.
All right, so I select the Grand Trunk double it’s the cryptic ripstop it’s 400 pound weight capacity. Ithink it’s about eleven. And a half feet long. Something why really nice very comfortable easy setup it’s gonna adjustable Sideline. Igot from there I have a good mix ass my house is under naval flight man. And I’m using war bonnet straps. And cinch buckles I like those better. Than just a Whoopee sling it’s a little bit. More strengthening for me it’s just easier to set up. And adjust just like the peace of mind of a heavy-duty webbing and that’s. And then also me set up the Yukon outfitter under quilts that’s only rated to like 40 degrees. Or very fast like that but it’s enough to keep the cold off your back yeah so that’s. It I’m just out here chillin today it’s a beautiful day. And I’ll talk to you guys later thanks for watching.

G’day my name’s Clive. And welcome to CDP outdoors. What I’d like to go through today is the new sea2summit Pro single hammock. And suspension yes g’day whilst. Iwas out in the bush. We caught in this video for you. One thing I forgot to mention the weight. And the size of the tree holders. Or tree protectors we’re gonna call them the hurry our tree protectors 135 grams. You want to four point eight ounces. You can here see here they’re about five feet in length so. You enjoyed the rest of. This video okay we have a choice of two ways I’ll secure a nice. Either wrap it around the tree. And then just push the buckle through the loop on the end. Or which is the way. Iwill do it today carabiner say. And there we go hopped on. Now I’ll go and do the other side okay. These suspension straps. They weigh has to read. It rights 170 grams which is six ounces. And they’re 15 millimeters wide by three meters in length I’ll show. They connect to the tree straps. Now let’s show how easy.
It is to connect the tree straps aren’t to. These suspension straps. You have the two block cause. Each end you just simply push up on throat. And cinch done this small buckle which is on the end of your suspension strap is. All image you can see. It of a tree and a arrow pointing up. This goes into the hammock buckle which is very similar to. That has to be pointing towards the tree. It the opposite way around. It will just undo and you’ll end up on the ground so remember small tree sticking up I’ll be good okay. This is the hammock. This is a an additional stop slack. Iordered for it because I’ve got a. Few extras on but the original stuff suck.
It came in compression suck actually as well at least half the size of. And can be compressed down to be probably the size of a large orange. And the actual weight was 368 choose twelve point seven ounces okay well I’ll do today I’ll just go over to a tall hammock. And then in my next video I’ll show. All the add-ons up out onto. It okays I’ll start with the tail end. And remember in this buckle. Any picture of the tree. And yellow as to point up towards the tree just like. That gaint up towards the tree just give it a bit of a tuck maybe the double-ended stuff sack up to the headend can help out the way oh it’s a hammock. These are the pieces. Or add-ons me get my piece of paper so. Ican give you the accurate weights again. It is for a single weight 360 grams which is twelve point seven ounces it’s made up ripstop nylon package die minutes packed away in the smallest package comes with the compression sack it’s 13 centimeters in length by 7 wide by 7 centimeters high.
And a weight limit is a hundred. And eighty-one kilograms my eyes are a bit heavier. Now so let’s have a lot let’s check in. Igot a zinc face in the right direction so. Idon’t end up flat on my ass ah yeah perfect height for my little legs Lane in a hammock. Everybody says you end up like a banana yeah. You lay in you do Natan in their correct way with your diagonal which is feet left headlight. Or head left feet right whichever is your choice whoever. You want and gives. You a nice flat comfortable lay. Ishould have put my head the opposite way but there. You go no banana no falling out just laying here relaxing just fall asleep actually been enough. That gave you a basic of the sea2summit single Pro hammock. It in my day pack perfect for overnight as. You forget stop or just to get. Isay chill ax relax. Idon’t know what they say nowadays but yeah its beautiful place beautiful. You know you have a great day. And I’ll catch you in the next video.
