We are going to take a look at the Katadyn Hiker micro filter This is a lightweight backpacking water filtration option And. It is a micro filter so. It will remove bacteria {?}. And {?} from your water It is not a purifier. And will not remove viruses Capacity for the hiker is going to be about 200 gallons And. That really depends upon the quality of water. You are filtering So dirtier. Or muddier water is definitely going to fill the cartridge. It will require replacement at. That point a lot sooner. You were pumping clear water with less contaminate in. It So overall you can expect to get about 200 gallons out of. This filtration system This system does use a synthetic cartridge. We will pop it out here. And take a look We can see there is the synthetic filtration system set up You have got kind of folded material so. You have got tons and tons. And tons of pores there. That the water needs to be forced through in order for filtration It easily screws back in there That is the piece. You will be replacing when. This filter cartridge is completely clogged. And finished It is a plunger style filter so. You can see here is your plunging mechanism So. It is kind of easy up. And down motion with the hand And your in hose anchors here So a hose. That is coming from dirty water. And going in will anchor into. This point and the output hose anchors up here at the top Katadyn does include. Some other items here to work with the filter. And just some things to make. It a little bit more convenient Obviously. We talked about those hoses earlier So here is your output hose This is a pre filter at the end This is the part.

That would hang in the water You do have a little bit of a flotation device here to keep. It from sinking and picking up mud. And silt at the bottom of a creek. Or a stream And that easily tucks away into. This storage sack they are including here We also see the other sack is called outlet hose So basically. This is going to be your dirty hose. And the outlet hose is going not be your clean hose You don’t really want to get. Whatever sort of microorganisms. And bacteria might be on. That came from the creek on the clean hose So. They are giving you. Another sealable bag to stow. It in The whole thing can stow inside the black storage sack So here is.

That clean outlet hose You do get a couple of little options here to make. This a recall convenient for using with a whole different variety of water containers So here is a piece. That will easily attach into. Any sort of hydration bladder Easily connects into a hose there so. You can fill a hydration bladder with. This You don’t need to have a water bottle necessarily And then. This is an option You can see a couple of different levels here. That will fit inside a variety of size water bottles. You can pump into those instead General maintenance for this filter is going to be pretty simple Katadyn does include a little bottle of a little tube of silicone lubricant This is for the plunging mechanism You just need to kind of dab a couple of bits there to keep. This flowing smoothly. It starts to feel a little stiff. It is scraping Other thing you just want to do is.

This is not in use it has been wet. You have filtered water. You want to unplug that cartridge for long term storage You will want. It to be completely dry before. You do stow it away for long term storage The best way to do. That is to take it outside of the filter housing Let. It dries in the sun or at home on a table. Or windowsill or somewhere. It airs connects Does. It very easily So that is a look at the Katadyn Hiker micro filter It weighs in at 11 ounces It has an out-out flow of about. One liter per minute so. It is pretty quick It is very lightweight packa-ble This filter along with. All the items we looked at earlier does stow inside the black storage sack So. It is not going to take up much room in your pack It is an excellent option for anyone doing some backpacking If. You are just doing some back country travel. Even looking for some of an option to put in. Some sort of emergency. Or a survival kit It is the Katadyn Hiker micro filter.

This is the katadyn hiker pro. This lightweight filter is. One of the most convenient. And easy to use pump filters I’ve ever had. It takes up minimal space in a pack. And doesn’t weigh a lot. And it’s incredibly easy to maintain in the field it’s perfect for backpackers. Anyone in need of a light pump filter the hiker pro works through. This 02 micron glass fiber filter. It has an activated carbon element which helps neutralize odors. And odd tastes that filter will get rid of 999% of bacteria. And sediment and protozoa so. You don’t have to worry about Cryptosporidium Giardia ecoli. That stuff having used. This in water down in West Virginia’s New River Gorge. And also out in multiple areas of Wyoming and Utah. That filter definitely works. It pumps about a liter of water per minute which is pretty efficient. What makes the hiker Pro special is its ability to quickly connect. And disconnect from multiple devices at the output areas you’ll find a quick disconnect tab. And there are multiple adapters included with the filter.

That let you customize your hydration systems. You can easily attach. This to the top of a wide mouth water bottle. Even rig up your reservoir to have a Quick Connect attached directly to. That it’s incredibly convenient with. All those quick disconnect pieces the hoses are separate. You can keep the clean items away from the contamination by using the included zip baggie it’s also a very easy filter to maintain in the field like. Imentioned before there aren’t. Many moving parts so cleaning and replacement is easy. It comes with a few pieces. That help you clean the pre-filter for more efficient water flow. You find it getting a little harder to pump just unscrew the housing and access the filter. You can then wipe down the outside to get a better flow rate out of the unit the translucent outer shell makes.

It easy to see when the filter may be gunked up. And ready for some cleaning I’ve been using my hiker pro filter on the same cartridge for quite a. Few years these things can filter somewhere in the realm of 750 liters of water so. They last a pretty long time it’s perfect for backpacking or long days in the mountains again it’s the katadyn hiker Pro thanks for watching if. You have any additional questions about the gear. You just saw feel free to visit back country edge comm to get in touch with. One of our other gear specialists. We have detailed product descriptions. And specs and often for a lot of our products. We have additional bonus videos. You like what we do here on YouTube please subscribe.

Hey guys Eugene here from review auto gear. We are at a beautiful beach here. This is the second beach in night here. And out here we’ve been using this filter right here the katadyn hiker pro filter. Iwanted to do a review of. It for you guys it’s not gonna be an in-depth review just. More of an overview of what this thing is we’ve used multiple filters. And products from katadyn way back in the day. We actually got the katadyn pocket which is their highest the highest line professional filter. They have that’s made out of aluminum. And it’s really robust. And sturdy and it’s really expensive too. You can see that review by clicking in the information button but today. Iwant to show this other. One which is the katadyn hiker pro oh by the way we’ve also read a lot of their bottles. They have really nice filter bottles. If you’re on shorter trips. You have multiple people. Each carry a bottle that’s. Another really nice system but. More of a long long-term use kind of filter so just. Some quick specs on. It before I get into the details in terms of its capabilities it’s a point two micron filters. You want to see more information on filters.

And like the microns. That stuff we’ll have a video actually up here of. Another filter review. Italk about and then. This pumps or cleans about 300 gallons of water per the filter element so just keep. That in mind let’s get into I’m gonna pull. It out shows you what’s in here use. It a little bit show. How its cleaned that stuff so here. We go alright guys so. Everything comes in. This nice black pouch with a loop. You can secure it on to your other gear with. And right off the bat I’ll show. You the filter itself the main element. And main unit here it opens up like. You have this handle. And quick connector here. And then right off the bat I’ll show. This comes off right here. You just unscrew this piece here. And the slides out you have just a container hole here. That allows the water to be pumped through. This filter and in here in the bag. You have this little sponge. They provide also to clean.

That off you need to gets too dirty. You can see some of the pleated. You might be able to see. Some pleated filter material in there but. This is the main compartment. Or the main filter piece. These o-rings also they always provide katadyn always provides. You with a little silicone tube in here silicone lubricant. You can put on the o-rings to make sure. Nothing leaves so let. This back in here really easy to assemble. And clean you can see. It has a nice hard stop at the end as well just like. That so put that there then let. This weighs 11 ounces. And it’s three inches wide here by six.

And a half inches tall okay. This is the intake hose right here. It has a pre-filter then. It has a little floating bug floating a little bobbin here so. That can be dropped in. And it’s three feet long. This whole host put connector here so that’s really nice really quick then. We have a little bit. You know like an instruction manual. And here a little sponge like. And then we have a outlet hose pouch. This allows the outlet hose to stay clean, so I’m gonna pull. This out so let’s keep. This part clean this is what’s gonna go on our bottle. This just goes on here there’s a little spigot right here. You just put or a little spout really easy to slide. That on there you wanted to set. This up for quick connect like. You wanted to set up using this bottle connection. You wanted this to connect to like a hydration bladder. Something else on your pack.

They have these pieces. Provided here to you could insert. This between your mouthpiece so. You take your mouthpiece basically. You cut the tubing on your hydration bladder. You didn’t cert this into their so. You can disconnect this part. And then you’d put this on the end of. This tube here so then at. Any point you can disconnect. Or your hydration bladder plug. This into your hydration bladder fill. It up disconnect it again. And it’s ready to go out. These back together. This would always stay on your. This would stay on your hydration bladder too so. Even provide those pieces for you.

Whereas in the past. We actually had to buy those separately to build a system like. Now it’s all pretty included. Now here’s and again. This comes off of here really easy just like. And goes on almost just as easy. Ijust got to make sure. It slides on just like so let. This pumps I’m just gonna set. This up right here I know people are gonna go. All crazy about that it’s getting dirty but hey here. We go so that in the water I’m gonna start pumping and. You can see how easily I’m pumping and. How nicely that’s coming out of. That filter right there so it’s a liter per minute is the quoted speed on the filtration. We can actually test.

That really quick right. We have a liter bottle right here that’s empty. And I’m gonna go ahead. This fits like this big Nalgene just like. Even go to a bigger. One it’s if it’s a small no logy mouth like. This with the inside portion. It probably won’t I don’t think it’s gonna fit the very small mouth like. One time use bottles. You know but it’ll fit. These two types for sure, so I’m gonna put. This one here just like. It has a little out outlet air escape so. It doesn’t build up pressure on the inside, so I’m gonna set. This up just like and I’m gonna time. It here for a minute there actually I’m going to time. It start right and we’ll see. How long it takes to fill. This bottle up this is a liter bottle I’m gonna go up right to the 32 ounce so the thing about. It is as I’m pumping here. You can see I go too fast. Itry to go faster than it’s. Something it allows. This little chamber here. It goes light so the air bubbles are expanding so.

You have to go-slow enough to. That doesn’t happen. That actually allows. You to have the perfect pump efficiency okay, so we’ll come. When up on the leader here in just a bit okay there. Ijust hit a leader. And we’re at 40 seconds so. It took 40 seconds to do a leader that’s pretty good. And then so this is nice. Even have to try to somehow secure. That little thing on there. This thing on the bottle just holds right on let. One real quick so this is the smaller mouth. This goes just on just like. That again and then. You can pump the water no problem so there. It is guys I mean that’s the katadyn Pro the katadyn hiker Pro a very nice little filter it’ll last for a. You can replace those filters. You can buy that piece separately. And keep the rest of the system. It should last you for quite a long time I’m actually quite impressed with the way with.

How easy it is to pump. You guys it’s plastic it’s a little bit lighter. And it’s really ergonomic so. Ican just hold I can just pump. It without having to press. It into a rock anything like. And the handle is really nice and comfortable. You just put your you know put your whole arm into. If you’re a little bit weaker so there. We go guys that is the katadyn hiker pro very nice system thank get a katadyn for sending this to. Us we’ve purchased a lot of their stuff in the past. They just started to send. Some stuff as a sample to review so it’s a great item. And I’ll definitely recommend. That katadyn gear.

Anything that we’ve ever tried from them has performed beautifully so. You guys have any questions please leave those down in the comment section below check the description for links to buy. This thing if you’re interested. And we’ll try to get back to. Any questions anything like. That so again thank. You guys very much don’t forget to praise God for everything. You have and for everything. He gives and for beautiful times. And locations like this see. You guys the next one it’s been Eugene from review outdoor gear.

You hi I’m Audrey with platypus. We created the gravity works for leader system for backpackers. And campers who need to filter. And transport large volumes of water the system comes with two four liter reservoirs so. You can bring up to eight liters of water back to camp here’s. How you do it first fill the dirty reservoir with the cleanest water. You can find attach the hose. And filter into the clean reservoir. When the reservoir is full disconnect the hose. And fill the dirty reservoir again make sure the zip closure is sealed tightly carry the full system back to camp. And hang the clean reservoir separate the hose from the clean side of the filter use the shut-off clamp to dispense water from the clean bag until. It is empty this water is filtered to EPA. And NSF standards so it’s safe to use for all of your cooking and cleaning when the clean reservoir is empty refill. It by filtering the water from the dirty reservoir the ability to transport. More than two gallons of clean water makes camp chores like cooking and cleaning far easier. It also allows you to camp comfortably in areas. That do not have a natural water supply. Although it has a huge capacity the four liter system still weighs less. Than most conventional water filters on the market today. Everything I’m using here weighs just 107 five ounces.

These features make. It a great option for day trips as well as base camping you.

We are taking a look at the Platypus GravityWorks four liter system This system includes the dirty water reservoir a hose for the dirty water reservoir obviously your gravity works filter You have got a bag. That contains all the extras here You have the clean water hose with kind of hose clamp on their At the end of the hose. You have an attachment to attach. It to the clean water reservoir And basically. This is an excellent system for paddling backpacking with groups. If you are going on a trip. Where you have time to basically get water hang. It on a tree go do something else Within about two. And a half minutes you are going to have four liters of filtered water It is going to filter out particulates bacteria. And protozoa So this is not effective against viruses So. If you are in an area. Where that is a problem. You are you know going to have an additional water purification to get rid of those viruses But really easy to use system It filters a lot of water in a pretty short amount of time So. We will get into all the little features in a little bit. Ihave got the dirty water reservoir here. And we have a little over a liter. And a half of water in. It now But I will mention. This is you know Platypus reservoir really durable. And it is treated with an antimicrobial slime guard. You know finish on the inside So. You have got some protection there But basically in order to use.

This you have a snap closure on the top So basically. What you would do you would take. This to your water source The do have printed on their “dirty” for the dirty water so. It is really easy to keep the dirty reservoir. And the clean reservoir apart But basically. You go to your water source You dip. It in the water and. You fill this up Once. You have filled it. You zip the top You can invert. It to test it to make sure. Nothing is going to come out And. They have a nice strap on the top here So. You know when you get back to camp. Or you get back to your base camp. You can basically hang. This on a tree wherever. It is convenient Here. Ihave got the filter. That you connect in between the dirty reservoir. And the clean reservoir And. This is really innovative hollow fiber technology It is really light weigh. And super easy to use So basically. It is going to filter out.

All of your protozoa bacteria. And particles with this filter here Depending on the quality of the water depending on how dirty the water is. It is able to filter up to 1500 liters of water before. It needs to be changed. Or replaced And you are also able to back flush. This filter really easily to clean. It and to remove any air bubbles So really easy to use And. Iwill mention it has a nice big graphic here to show. You the flow direction of the water so. You don’t get them confused There is also a black cap on the dirty water side. And a white cap for the clean water side so. You know you are going to connect. It correctly every time So basically.

You would connect this piece to the dirty water hose like. That And I have got the dirty water reservoir on. This side which I would connect their So on the other side of. This filter that is. Where the clean water hose goes. And the clean water reservoir which. We will take a look at next Basically the differences between the dirty water. And the clean water reservoir the clean. You have a cap at the bottom. And this is where the filtered water is going to enter into the reservoir. And you don’t have the same type of zip top Basically. This is secure So it is basically just a bag of water here with a cap on the top Same webbing strap as the dirty water reservoir So the longer hose is the clean water hose. And it does come with a shut off valve right here So basically before. You have the dirty water filtering into the clean water.

You can shut that off. And it basically doesn’t allow the water to go through so. You can kind of get. Everything hooked up. Iam going to attach the clean water hose to the white side. Or to the clean side of the filter. And then attach the corresponding end to the dirty water reservoir So. Once you have got everything connected. We have your dirty water reservoir the hose going down into the filter into the clean water reservoir. You just want to hang. It from a tree or hang. It from whatever it is convenient for you Hang the dirty water reservoir higher. Than the clean water reservoir. And then take off the shut off valve And then. You can let gravity filter your water for you A little bit about storage You want to store your contaminated.

Or your dirty water components kind of separately from the clean water So. You know when everything is. All said and done if. You throw your dirty water reservoir. And the hose in next to the clean water reservoir. And the clean water hose. It could get cross contaminated So. You want to store them separately And Platypus does include a little mesh sack You know definitely. If you are in an area. Where it is really cold. You don’t want to any of the components to freeze So. You want to make sure. All the water is out of. It and as dry as possible But yeah storage is a breeze Basically the water reservoirs are bags So. When they are empty.

You can roll them up When the hose. You know the hose you just wrap up And like. Isaid the filter weighs next to. Nothing So storing is pretty easy with. That But all in all a really simple system really easy to use. And it certainly beats having to pump water. You know sit there for long periods of time If. You have got a big group. Or if you just have time to be able to hand the water up to use. It later you are able to filter out. You know four liters of water in a relatively fast time So with the ease of use with the confidence. That this filter is going to filter out. Everything you need. This is an ideal system for your next back country adventure It is the GravityWorks four liter system by Platypus.

The gravity works for leader system is the fastest. And easiest way to filter lots of water fast. Whether you’re deep in the back country. Or car camping at the trail head it’s large for liter reservoirs fast 175 liter per minute speed an effortless pump free filtering keep pace with high demand situations. And store up to 8 liters of clean water for on-demand use to set up connect the long clean hose to the filter via the white hose barb screw the other end onto the clean reservoir then just connect the short dirty hose section with the quick disconnect fitting to the black hose barb the flow direction is clearly printed on the filter to make sure you’ve got. It rights using the gravity works is incredibly easy begin by filling the dirty reservoir from his clean a water source as possible then pinch along the length of the zipper to seal attach the quick release hose to the dirty reservoir with the rest of the system connected. And release the hose clamp using a tree Rock your tent. Or whatever is available elevate the dirty reservoir above the rest of the system extending the hose as much as possible allow a little water to collect in the clean reservoir.

And then raise it above the dirty reservoir to purge. Any air that entered the filter after. All air has vented into the dirty reservoir reposition the system. And your filtering at maximum speed. If you’re camped far away from your water source. You can filter your first four liters at the source then fill up the dirty reservoir again taking 8 liters of water back to camp. When you’re ready to use the water close the hose clamp disconnect the long hose section from the filter. And hang the clean reservoir at Camp use the hose clamp as. You would a faucet for easy cleanup. And dispensing or choose. One of our other closure caps to replace the hose altogether to match your needs in the field a quick for second back flush is the only regular maintenance required to get the.

Most from your gravity works filter. And should be done approximately every 8 liters depending on water quality to back flush simply reverse the system for four seconds. Or until the water running into the dirty reservoir runs clear doing this quickly becomes second nature. And will ensure you the best speed. And long-term performance from your filter. However you travel. If you want the most water with the least hassle there’s no beating the gravity works.

The gravity works 2-liter system packs the game-changing speed. And ease of gravity works filtration into an ultra light. And compact package that’s optimal for high mileage lightweight journeys. It filters and a half liters per minute weighs as little as seven ounces. And meets and EPA standards for the removal of bacteria protozoa. And Giardia cysts in addition a selection of adapters adds the versatility. You need to create the. Most efficient and seamless integration of your hydration. And filtration systems possible every gravity works 2-liter system is super intuitive. And color-coded to prevent cross contamination with blue. And white indicating the clean side. And black components indicating the dirty. Or unfiltered side each kit includes a clearly marked dirty collection reservoir with a Quick Connect hose a filter.

And outlet hose to kit options let. You choose a two-liter platy bottle as a collection reservoir. You can streamline your system with. One of two adapters for filtering directly into a wide range of bottles. And reservoirs even reservoirs still in your pack to use. Any gravity works filter start by filling up the dirty collection reservoir thanks to the wide opening platy zip seal closure. This is incredibly easy in a wide range of situations be. It a lake stream something as challenging as a trickle flowing over rock. Because your water source is. Now portable you get to go. And filter you want. That you’re comfortable hook up the rest of the system place the dirty bag as high as possible above your collection reservoir open the shut-off clamp. And you’re filtering for maximum flow allow a little water to collect on the clean side. And lift it to reverse flow purging any trapped air in the filter up to the dirty reservoir. When the bubbles stop return the system to its normal position.

And you’ll be filtering at full speed the system is shown here as a complete standalone system using the 2 liter platy bottle. And push-pull cap adapter included in our. Most comprehensive offering the complete kit the adapter easily attaches to a platy push-pull cap which in turn fits. Any threaded platy product such as platy bottles plus bottles. Any container you’ve chosen in just seconds it’s so easy. You can make back flushing part of your normal filtering routine ensuring the longest filter life possible to back flush wait until the dirty reservoir is almost but not completely empty then reverse flow by raising the clean side above the dirty side for 4 seconds.

Or until water coming out of the filter runs clear discard the rest of the water. And that’s it no extra parts are disassembly required whichever system. You choose you’re going to love. And like so many others you’ll soon realize. That there simply is no easier. More versatile or effective way to filter water. Than with a gravity work system you.

Okay, so I’m going to do a review of the four litre platypus gravity-fed water purification system. It for about a hundred bucks on Amazon on sale. And so far been a pretty good little water purifier had. It for a couple years. And it’s worked out well so. They give you a nice little stuff sack. And things with your dirty. And clean water bags. And your replaceable filter so I’m. How to use I always start by just taking your dirty water bag get into nice running water preferably it’s. You know a lot of algae. You might not want to use. It the filters that well against heavy algae Laden water we’re on the McKenzie River in Oregon so. You could honestly probably drink. This water but we’ll do. Because try to get a nice running water spot. You can fill it up it’s got a little zipper seal on the top it’s like a ziplock bag close. And then you can hold. It upside down to test your seal looks good okay so. You got your dirty water.

Now the clean water bag it’s pretty obvious which is which. One doesn’t have a zipper it’s got the little fitting at the bottom a screw on fitting and then it’s got a tube with a little stopper on. It so makes it easy to start. And stop your flow so. What I do is hook up my clean water bag my filter take a little plug off. Provided do you like so take the dirty water bag hang. It somewhere up high that’s over we’ll just set. It right here this should do. You just want to get enough static head to. It will flow and then set your clean water bag down below. Something like and then. This has a little fitting on. It a little press fitting so. You just press that in stick. It releases your clip.

And your flow begin. It usually takes anywhere from five to ten minutes probably take a little longer since. Idon’t have much elevation change here, so we’ll take a pause. And come back to that Dunfield three thanks totally empty people good. Iusually unplug the clean water. And it’s the directional flow things that’s pretty cool truth so. Ijust unplug that lock off your big little. Provided plug putting it on the end of your filter keep. It cleans on the clean water end. And then we’re done with. This part so you can set. This aside I usually like to rinse off my bag. If I’m backpacking we’re on a short hike right. Iwas backpacking I’d refill. This again and then bring it with. Because then you can have eight liters of water essentially.

And instead of the side. And then, so we got our clean water it’s pretty nice. This little clip on here so. Iusually just put it around my neck. And then you can fill up your water bottle so. This little thing has a little action. You can just disconnect. And fill and it’s all gravity feed so pretty cool group the higher. It the quicker it’ll go okay so. We fill up and then. Istill have quite a bit of water, so we’ll take. This along with us things. Ilike about this it’s. All gravity feed so. You don’t have to sit there. And pump your water it’s a pretty good amount. Imean four liters is a lot. And then eight liters. You take another bag of dirty water with. And it’s pretty compact. It rolls up into this little bag here so very compact very lightweight good for backpacking and a drawback. Iguess is it takes so long. Because it’s gravity heat but. It doesn’t really bother.

Idon’t mind being patient. And other that it’s not really much else. Ican say about it’s pretty self-explanatory just make sure. You clean you get home rinse. It out with fresh water hang. It to dry let it dry out completely before storage. And yeah drink awesome clean water. While you’re on the go pretty near so alright thanks for watching you.

Just to show how easy. This is fill up your dirty reservoir. It starts to trickle we’ve already uses the problem is there’s air bubbles in the line so it’s not going to flow smoothly so let. What they do is what you call back cut back flush. It a little bit take your tank hold. It up water and basically you’ll see. All their bubbles looks like there’s. Nothing oh this is why you want. All those air bubbles out see. All the water easy as. You wait about five minutes get yourself water doing thanks for tuning in bye.

What’s up guys how y’all doing today I’m going to put to the test. This Guardian was more powerful portable purifier so it’s pretty much like our water purifier filter it’s bumped up to 25 liter per minute. And reach up to 10000 liters plus wow that’s a lot of water. This fire takes off. And then you can put a water bottle on. You know the camping water bottle so gym water bottles as well. You can just put the regular small water bottle over. And just pump and get water in a smaller water bottle as well here’s the microfiber filter right here it’s supposed to filter. All the bacteria up to ten thousand liters okay we’re going close. This back up this part okay. And let’s put this to the test just throw. That part in water so. Ihave to do is just go up. Some kind of continued water bottle. Whatever this time I’m just going to fold the regular water bottle. And look at it’s still enough pretty quickly state out of the little stream over here Wow look up Fox it the woods. And then what a look to. It clears right let’s do a quick taste. It tastes really good. And it’s supposed to be. All filter and purified so there shouldn’t be. Any bacteria they actually test every single filter before. They package that sent. It out so they say can. It first and wolf me very delicious water idea noise actually what’s so good so let’s do. Another test right here.

You see there is water. And I’m going to make. It really muddy. And dirty no big deal. Ihave to do is just put. This thing at your side waist. And let’s pump out some water into here look at. That dirty water on. This side let me just show. You close-up it looks a little muddy, so I’m just going to keep pumping it. And look right here the water is really clean why isn’t amazing in. This tube this kind of pour on water inside of. It comes in from. This way of filter or screen. Whatever you call and then clean water comes out from here. All the mud all the impurities comes out from here so it’s like separates of the clean water.

All the mud water that’s awesome. That layer screen is actually keeps away. All the big mud so it doesn’t go into the filter also amazing ten years like. It doesn’t have to submerge. All the way it could be only submerge like halfway. It will still work let. You can just pump. And look at it’s pumping water. If your survival is to doomsday people. You definitely want to have. You know what I’m going to put. It in my collection for doom papers. And stuff that’s a really cool to have. One of these things 10000 liters of water it’s a lot of water. And it’s drinkable water don’t. Even have to boil anything just ready to go purified water well guys that’s pretty much. It pleases give this video a thumbs up thank. You for watching and I’ll see. You next time also we will love the package.

And look at that it’s put. And it’s a little mess over here so that’s why all. That water can dry out. And not going to get molded Wow really cool.

If you love outdoor. And survival related gear please consider subscribing to my channel. Iput out multiple videos weekly. And all you have to do is click. That red subscribe button. How you been I’ve been good. How have you been so today we’re gonna take a look at. One of the most advanced water filters. That I’ve ever tested the MSR Guardian. You know I have a whole water filter playlist including some of the. Most popular models but I’ve never actually reviewed a pump model the model. Iuse most up to this date is the platypus. It is their gravity works system. Where you basically fill a dirty bag. You connect it to a clean bag. And it gravity filters into the other bag that’s great. And helpful for around camp. Ihave two liters of water. That I can use to cook with. Ican use to drink I can use to brush my teeth.

Ican use it even to wash dishes after I’m done. It hangs on the tree works really well but. One thing it does not do is filter viruses. That filters bacteria only which is. Something that you’re going to find in a lot of the. Most popular water filters including the Sawyer mini the Guardian is a water purifier as well. And it even has down to a point zero two micron size in its hollow fiber Sawyer for example has a point. One so much smaller hollow fibers in the MSR Guardian The Guardian comes with. This really nice stuff sack which has perforations up top so. It can drain out it’s got a little handle. Or a little clip right here.

That you could clip on to your pack. And just carry it that way. And that would allow. You to let the filter dry out after you’ve used. It simply has this tube which. You simply just unwrap from the filter. And you pump that’s. All there is to the operation of. This filter on the bottom here. You have a little cap. That you unscrew and then. You can either use the little dimple there. And put it you know put. It over a regular just 20 ounce water bottle. Or so but it’ll also screw on to. Most of your containers such as a Nalgene see just screw. It on there and pump away. And you’ve got fresh clean purified. And filtered water on the other end of the pump is.

This float here and then. You also have your screen that’s going to filter out your sediment. And give you that nice clean filtered water so again very simple design. It is very durable they say. You can drop it from up to six feet. And it’ll withstand. It also does have a replaceable filter I’m pretty sure. You can order a new filter. Ibelieve the filter will do up to ten thousand litres of water so. Ino longer have to carry heavy water with. Me in bottles I can simply just carry the Guardian with. I and whenever I reach a point to collect water simply just throw. One end into your water source screw on our water bottle. And then we can start pumping away takes a second to private. And without this being a clear water bottle not sure. How full I am about half full I’ll show. You guys the right here. This is clean water coming out of the bottom so. It doesn’t really matter. If we get it everywhere just like. That one water bottle is pulled.

And we’ll do our second water bottle so not only filtered but also purified in the water comes out crystal clear so with. Any other water filter let’s go ahead. And give it a taste test it’s cold. And it tastes just like. Any other bottled water so the Guardian also comes in really handy. If you’re a distance away from your water source usually. You got to bend over. Or actually get in the water to fill your container in order to pass. It through your filter with the Guardian. You simply just toss in the float. And start pumping away. Even if your water source is out of arms reach. This filter does not require back flushing or cleaning so. When I’m done I just pop. It right back into the pouch.

And if it’s wet I can clip. It rights onto my pack. And continue my hike so. What I really like about the Guardian water filter in addition to its filtering and purifying capabilities is. That it’s very easy to carry its lighter for example. Than carrying a water bottle. Or too full of water from home. You can simply just get your water. Wherever you’re at which makes. It nice I like the pump feature. That you can stand away from the water source dip the end in there. And then very quickly pump. It into any container. Whether it be a water bottle. Or a hydration bladder the guardian isn’t cheap so. What are you paying for you’re paying for the highest level of bacteria. And virus protection available in a water filter you’re paying for.

That ease of use and its portability. And you’re also paying for its high flow rate other filters. That you have to squeeze for example. They take a long time gravity filters can take a long time especially. When you’re on the move. If you’re a backpacker. Or a hiker that wants to stop throughout the hike for example it’s a very quick way to get a bottle full of fresh water so hope. You guys enjoyed the video today I’m going to throw. That you do purchase through my Amazon store does help support the channel. Igreatly appreciate. It, so I hope you guys enjoyed the video today please give it a big thumbs up for me make sure.

Designed to provide clean safe drinking water virtually anywhere in the world the MSR Guardian purifier is redefining back country filtration with an innovative hollow fiber filtration. And a self-cleaning system. This purifier is great in virtually. Any condition let’s take a closer look to see. What makes it so special the first thing I want to talk about with the Guardian purifier is. That filtration it is able to purify. Or virtually filter out. Everything in the water so MSR is using a hollow fiber technology in. This purifier it filters out down to point zero two microns so. That is super small that’s going to allow. This to literally filter out bacteria protozoa. And viruses or pathogens so you’re going to get clean safe drinking water in. Any condition the way. That is with these hollow fibers. And there are a lot of them so. You get a lot of surface area which is going to allow. That to maintain a really high flow rate. While filtering out. That really really small particulate so overall. That really large surface area those really small pores at.

That point 0-2 microns it’s going to let. This thing performs across the board. And in order to maintain. That flow rate MSR has designed. This purifier to take 10% of the water that’s coming into the system. And flush it back out so down at the bottom of the pre-filter here you’ve got two hoses instead of just. One of those is your input. One of those is your output so that’s going to keep back flushing the filter throughout the use constantly so. It maintains its life so. You never need to scrub. You never need to back flush. It every time it’s doing. That by itself as with. Most back country filters. We do have a pre-filter for the Guardian but a really neat design feature.

And a cool thing they did with. This pre-filter is a lot different. What I’ve seen in some other prefilters so. This bag that’s essentially around. That port is designed to work in fully submerged conditions. And only partially submerged conditions so. Most pre-filters need to be fully submerged in water in order to pull the water into the system. This pre-filter does not the way. That’s designed is. It hits water the water kind of gets pulled across the material here. And creates a seal like a liquid seal. It allows this to draw water from. Even really small puddles very easily so. You don’t have air kind of circulating through your filtration system so. It makes it very convenient. And very easy to use regardless of how big your water source is a. Few other things I want to talk about with the Guardian purifier happen up at the top side. Or the handle portion of the filter so as.

You can see we do have a very large handle on the filter. It makes it really easy to pump water through the system the output is about two. And a half liters per minute so with. Even with those really small pores. That really micro porous filtration you’ve got a really high water output much higher. Some of those other standard backpacking filters the top side is fully filled maintainable so. You can take those pieces apart. You need to give them a quick wipe. Or lubricate them if needed. It back together right in the field so it’s very convenient. And easy to use that way at the bottom. We do have a little cap there to protect the output portion. You can simply unscrew.

And you’ve got a really nice large opening there it’s going to give. That output port but. It also integrates well with a Nalgene bottle. Or a standard wide mouth water bottle so really easy to thread. That on there so you don’t get. Any cross-contamination. When you’re filtering your water so definitely a smart design feature. Something to consider. When you’re in the back country the filter cartridge. That comes with the Guardian purifier will filter up to 10000 litres of water so. That is a ton of water. If somehow you run the filter through its life. You can get replacement filters. They are sold separately. Though the filter over always about seventeen point three ounces so. It is a little more on the hefty side in the filtration world.

And the measurements for the system are around eight point two inches by four point seven inches so again on the larger side of things but with. That easy filtration. That purification aspect of the filter it’s definitely worth the size. And weight the MSR Guardian purifier meets testing protocol used by the US military it’s been tested in freezing conditions in putrid water it’s been dropped tested from about six feet. And MSRs microbiology lab it’s really been put through the wringer to make sure. That it’s going to perform virtually across the board in. Any conditions and again filter out. Everything bacteria protozoa sediment. And viruses so for international travel back country use. Or just emergency water filtration its the MSR Guardian purifier you.

It works utilizing hollow fiber construction the filter meets. Both EPA and NSF standards for the removal of bacteria. And protozoa testing out at over 999% effective. This means you’re protected from well-known threats like ecoli Giardia. And Cryptosporidium along with lesser known threats note. That it is not effective against viruses which are too small to be filtered out but the trail shots does remove sand grit. And other particulates which definitely enhances the experience of drinking in the back country the filter not only provides a high flow rate but. It also is easily cleaned without. Any need for tools or chemicals depending on water quality the filter can treat up to 2000 liters of water before needing to be replaced to filter water. Hi Jason here with the MSR trail shot water filter so. Igot this water filter here. Because the Sawyer really don’t quite cut. It as far as speed they’re not really quite fast enough they’re nice and lightweight. And nice and compact, but they’re not fast enough. And if you’re trying to do 20 miles in a day on the trails. You want you don’t want to spend 30 40 minutes filtering water every five miles so the trail shot I’ve tested. It out already it’s nice and compact nice and lightweight. And it’s real simple to use. You stick the one in with the tube in the water like so. And then the hand pump here the half the filter. And cartridge inside of. It you just sweep that. And out the other end comes here filtered water your clean water works off the other end. And you and you can do. That you can do that directly in your mouth to drink. Or you can fill up. Whatever water container. That you’re using as your on the trail so. This is great it’s fairly quick definitely faster. Than the Sawyer mini wake faster. Then the Sawyer mini I’m not used to store your Cui’s but. Iheard that it’s just a little bit faster. Then the mini but not nearly as fast as. This I don’t believe. This is pretty quick. This gives you this go up 700 milliliters pretty fast. And it’s nice and lightweight real simple to use very easy to clean.

And drain out and so on. Igive it all 5 stars there I’ve not found. One complaint about. It I like it I think it’s a great water filter for backpackers. You know Asperger you know small group for a groups of two. Or three or solo hikers. This is definitely a great way to go. This is a great water filter for. That size the group for just day hike destroy your mini. Or the Sawyer squeeze it’s a great option. Because it’s a little smaller a little. More compact and you’re not still Turing. That much water all. That often whereas for full just. You know full-blown overnight er. And on trips or through hike. This is definitely a great filter for. That for group you know for relatively small group. If you have a group of. More than five people. And you’re only wanting to carry. One water filter I would suggest. On the larger pump ones. That way too you know. Another three to four ounces. More than this but definitely works a way only.

One person has to carry. One of those and you have. One filter that filters. You know two liters per minute that’s the order. Or faster that’s great for large groups but. This one filter it’s about a liter per minute. And that’s plenty fast for you know smaller groups. You know or solo hikers so yeah five stars the MSR trail shot great water filters for backpacking again lightweight easy to use fairly compact no complaints about. It whatsoever from me hope. Hey guys thanks for tuning into my channel again. And I’m kind of excited about. Iwanted to show you my new micro Sawyer squeeze filter just came out its December 2018. Few weeks ago I haven’t actually applied. It in an actual backpacking trip. Ihave filtered with. It just to check it out but it’s pretty much like the old. Iwant to kind of go over the new. And the differences between the new. And the old I’m also gonna at the end of. This video show you kind of my plan for the PCT. How I’m gonna filter but also carry water. And the amount of water I’m gonna carry. Icarried in so stay tuned for. That at the end of the video so here. It is a new micro mini squeeze through the main differences well. One is much smaller as. You can see side-by-side the new micro mini squeeze is about four inches long. And about an inch and 3/4 wide. One is six inches long. And about an inch and 7/8 wide so definitely a difference in size so physical size in your pack the difference in the weight. One point eight ounces. This is two point six so just under an ounce difference so. Although it’s not huge. You fill them with your hand is a little bit different but not much but as.

They say ounces lead to pounds so definitely a space. And weight savings so. Ipaid $2799 and actually went to Sawyer site. And just bought it online there. It was $2799 what did. It comes with here’s the list right here like its predecessor it’s rated for 100000 gallons so. It hasn’t lost anything from the old. Although it’s much smaller so. You should get than a thru-hike probably up to two through hikes. You keep it back plush. And keep it clean the next part I’m going to put on a screen here for you to read. Because it’s way too technical. And too much of a tongue twister for me to say so here. It is right here you, so I’m still playing around with. How much water I’m going to bring in the early parts in the desert I’m pretty experienced in the desert but. And on the weather and the days. And the water carries. And things like that will dictate. How much water I’m carrying but. Iwant to have capabilities for at least seven to eight liters so.

Ithink I’m going to do. It as of now at December 2018 so. Iused to carry at least for one liter smart water bottles I’ve changed my mind on. What I’m going to do is I’m going to carry two. And a half liter bottles so a total of course of three liters so that’s gonna be in my pack. What I’m doing that is mainly. Iwant to have fewer bottles but also frees up two spots. Because normally I put two bottles in. Each side pocket so. It takes up all the space in my side pocket pack. And my pack so I’m gonna do. Each side that gives. Me a spot for other things like gear. It could be my tent poles things like. Or my umbrella things like. That so that’s my thinking is. One have to 1/2 liter bottles as well. Ihave a chest pouch. That I’ll be doing a review on soon that’s gonna hold a water bottle.

Iwant to have that is almost the leaders just shy of leader so really that’s four leaders right there then I’m gonna decided on which bags I’m gonna bring my roll bags but. Ihave three types right. And I’m kind of waiting on. One new the I probably want to use is the nock 2-liter. These are all 2-liter bags. This is great you don’t know about. It is super great he has the D cap color so. It down on the ground it’s its. You can find it easily it’s also different. Than your white caps. That typically come on your water bottle so. You could denote which. One is the right cap for this is threaded perfectly for the soy.

Or water filter as well. What it what’s the greatest thing about. These slides off super easily. And like and what’s great about. You can easily add a bigger water sources just dip in. And fill it up really quick. This will act as my dirty water bag which means. Even the water is pretty clean it’s gonna be. What I filter through into. All my other bottles. That are for the clean water so. This is the knock pepto 2-liter bag they’re coming out with its December 2018 right. Now they’re coming out a vecto to the newer model. This I’m not sure exactly. How it’s going to change, so I’m kind of holding out. That maybe would I go with, so I’ve talked to the owner of the company.

And I’m gonna try to get. Something from him probably January favor so that’s the plan so. That maybe you want to go with. This I’m planning on carrying 2 to 2 litre bags no matter which brand. Ibring so that’ll give. Me 4 liters there I have 4 liters here so on the super dry stretches I’ll have plenty of water. Ilike to err on the safe side on water. They roll up they don’t take up my space. Or weigh anything, so I’m gonna bring two of these the other packs. II’ve enjoyed this bag a lot is the ever new 2 liter bags it’s a little bit harder. It does not open on the bottom end but. Some things I like about. It is the cap is orange but. You take the cap off. It doesn’t go flying off it’s still there it’s connected with. This string what I like is.

When you’re not using it. You roll it up through on the cap like. That what’s great about. You can wrap it around. And just kind of goes around the top like. That keeps one thing I got. That on Amazon so that may be the. Ibring the I haven’t really enjoyed it’s set up basically. You likely ever knew but the cap is not connected so. You can’t lose the cap but what’s weird about. This bet this bag is it’s not threaded correctly for the sawyer filter so. You put the swimming filter on there the filter works but a lot of the water is being wasted just going out on the ground so. Ididn’t like I haven’t really used. While because of that so anyway that’s that’s. How I’m gonna be caring my water also let. You a couple other things. Ihave in my bag with my water filter so. When my water filter is in a bag. This bright orange bag so.

Ican find it easily in my pack. And here and I’ll have the two two-liter bags in. This with and then. What I also bring to. That I’ve really found is great is. Iput my filter in I have a very small personal water plastic water bottle. And I’ve cut the top off. This is extremely great for very small water source I’ve used. And very small Springs come in the mountain. That we’re barely trickling and. You need water bad it’s time-consuming but. You can get water of. This it’s very hard to get a big bottle like. This in the stream or a rivet. One of your two-liter bags its very hard to do. This is super easy you can scoop. It takes a little while but. You can pour it into your bottles.

And eventually filter. It so weighs nothing so I’m bringing. And then one extra sports top just in case. And really important to bring one to least. One of these caps they don’t weigh. Anything but you will lose them out there eventually. And it’s just good to have. You get time to maybe get. Another new bottle so that’s really. What I’m bringing I hope. This helps and educate. You a little bit and don’t forget to subscribe. And like thanks for watching

    Katadyn Gravidyn Drip Water Filter

  • Hydration source for group situations
  • Filters eliminate bacteria, protozoa and more
  • Activated-carbon granules reduce chemicals
  • The Katadyn Drip is your go-to hydration source for group situations – like a base camp, cabin or construction site – that require large volumes of filtered water. The filter uses three ceramic filters that eliminate bacteria, protozoa, cysts, algae, spores, sediments and viruses in combination with particles greater than 0.2 (0.0002mm) microns. These types of microorganisms cannot pass through the mini-pores of the filter because of the small, 0.0002mm pore size. The filters also have activated-carbon granules to reduce chemicals. Unlike disposable filters, the ceramic filters can be cleaned to extend its use. The free-standing gravity filter includes three ceramic carbon filters and a 10-liter water container with spout. The katadyn combi is the only outdoor water filter. That can be easily converted for use in a recreational vehicle boat home. Even an emergency most water filter cartridges lasts around 200 gallons the combi filter uses katadyn unique silver ceramic. And provides up to 13000 gallons of fresh drinking water the combi filter is very easy to use simply place the pre-filter into untreated water connect the output to your water container. And pump to filter out harmful microorganisms. And sediment the combi filter works in the. Most challenging conditions. And is easily cleaned to restore flow rate also the combi is unique. It has a replaceable carbon core to keep water tasting fresh. And reduce chemicals through the life of the ceramic filter the combi is the. Most versatile water filter. It performs with almost. Any water container plus has an optional faucet mount adapter kit for recreational vehicles boat. Or home use the combi is the best-selling emergency preparedness filter in America.

Providing clean safe drinking water in the back country the Katadyn Gravity Camp 6L filter is perfected for group outings The first thing to talk about with. Any water filter is. How it keeps you safe. And what it filters out of the water So. What we have here is a 02 micron glass fiber filter It is going to filter out bacteria cysts sediment. And taste out of your water So. It is very simple to use As. Imentioned it is a gravity filter So. It doesn’t require any pumping or. Anything like that to move your water through the filter You just have to fill up the six liter bag with your water The filter is inserted into the bottom of the bag. And you hang it from a tree. Or some point above. You and gravity does its thing and filters. It at about two liters per minute So. It is pretty fast This is going to filter water really quickly So.

If you have got a big group If. You have got a family outing scouts. That kind of thing you are going to be able to filter water very quickly Also. If you are just out there in the back country with. One or two people and want a way to carry your water very quickly. And efficiently this is also a great option for smaller groups as well Katadyn is using their ultra flow filter which is just an innovative filter. That is going to allow the water to move through the filter faster again with. That group cooking in mind Underneath of. This flexible grate. That you have on the outside of the filter there is a filter protector So. That is going to filter out sediment first It is going to protect the glass fiber filter on the inside from getting too much sediment build up And. This over its lifetime is going to be able to filter about 1500 liters of water depending on water quality You can always back flush the filter to clean.

It out and it gives. You directions on how to do. That So it is really easy to clean But. This filter is going to last a long time It is going to filter out a lot of water over its lifetime The features. That come with the Gravity Camp six liter. You obviously get the bag And. This is what I call the dirty water bag If. You have a container. Where you can put the water first. And then put it into. This bag to filter it out. That is ideal but you can take. This bag to your water source fill. It up and use it that way Katadyn does suggest wiping off. Any excess water from the outside before. You start filling up other water bottles So. You get the six liter water bag. And there is a really nice see through window on the front of. This So you can tell.

How much water you have left inside Really great carry handle at the top So basically. All you have to do here is roll. That down and clip. It off This is going to allow. You to hang it from a tree. Or anything above you to get. That gravity going Down on the bottom. You have your opening It is threaded so. You are able to attach the filter. And the filter connector It attaches really easily on too there. And that is going to allow. You to have a nice seal with your water When the hose is connected to. This filter connector the water is going to be able to flow freely out of. That but when you don’t have the hose connected. It has an automatic shut off valve So. That makes it really convenient to carry your water to. And from your water source Your other pieces include the output hose You have got a black connector here for the actual filter. And then you have a white connector on the other side This is going to be a quick connect to other water hydration sleeves.

And things like that You don’t have to have. That on their You also have a shut off valve here for the actual hose So. Iwould put that on the hose Once. You have got your hose connected to the filter. You can use this just to stop the water flow And then. You also have a little sponge for cleaning They give. You also a little stuff sack so. That you can keep all the pieces safe inside your pack Once. You have got everything set up. And you have got your water. It is really easy to connect the hose to the filter It is a really quick connect And my overall impressions of. This whole system is. That for one they are using very durable materials It is made to take into the back country So anywhere from the materials in the bag to the welds.

And the stitch lines the buckle here. And the hose everything is very durable Should. You need to replace. Anything all of these parts are replicable. If anything should happen And with the cleaning sponge. That they give and the way. You are able to back flush the filter. This is going to last a really long time It is a really simple. And easy to use system. And it is going to be great for groups. Or families any time. You want reliable clean drinking water in the back country It is the Katadyn Gravity Camp Six filter.

Everybody this is Delta forepaugh productions doing in the little gear review here we’ve got. Some weird camera angles we’re working on, but we’re going to talk about. Some water filtration stuff I’ve done a bunch of reviews on the little pocket style filters. And backpacking filters by K&N; as. You see here it’s why they’re drip filters. This is the Kevin Sheridan Sarah nine star ceramic drift builder. Ipurchase about over a year. And a half ago from jrh enterprises. Iwant to go over a little bit about the filter itself it’s a two-piece that’s let. Me see it’s hard for y’all to get but it’s two pieces it’s a made out of a plastic. You know probably that fancy non cancer-causing BPA junk there Rick cries male the filters are the katadyn rates. It out on their website for about forty K. You know 40k gallons for the set up. They rate each filter 13 K but the thing is. They can be used over three to two to five years basically. You can clean them up to a hundred times during. That time depending on your water quality. These are the filters right here as. You can see IV like. Isaid uses for about the year the water week. We have over here it’s pretty clean but. You could see some stuff right here starting to come up. Some goop but basically to clean them the kid is supplied with a little scrub pad 3m scrub pad.

And basically just run. It under water and give a little scrub. If you’ve done few dozen times. Whatever there’s a feeler gauge. They provide you can actually test the filter diameter to make sure. That it’s inspect before replacement. It actually comes with three the elements. It with two it doesn’t slow. It down very much at. Icould put five to six liters. And the top part and within. And two hours or so it’s already. You know drip through pretty much about 90 percent the. One good thing and the reason why I’m going on the cab business style is like a lot of times. You see on reviews everybody wants to do the Bur keys well unfortunately Cadden doesn’t have a bunch of guys runs around the web plugging her stuff. And giving it away for free swag so. And katuns been in the game as far as I’m concerned a lot longer well. You know at least one states out here. One reason why I went with the CAD in. It not just only its filter life. You know it’s proven tested. And proven reputation.

And also the fact that I’ve used. Or used a bunch of their products since two. Or three is it is made out of a plastic as. You can see there’s. You only have three holes in the bottom two for your filter two three free filters. And there’s a plug that will fit in. One of them that’s supplied with. You get like I said plastic. Though it’s a drip filter. Ido have to take it somewhere I’ll have to worry about again dented. Or ding see all still good I’ve seen people online. When we’ve talked about. Iwant to sit there. You know my wife doesn’t want. Me to get the cat in. Because it’s made of plastic well. You know so you almost drop down the court again is I’m bending it right here. And those who know me know I’m not a little weak dude nope their lid fits right back on.

This was a metal filter. It dropped off the counter. You know metal-bodied filter. It would probably you know be dented. And dinged and you’d have to hammer. It back in the shape don’t have to do. This with that price of these filters run anywhere from 200 around. That 200 to 250 mark depends on where. You shop like I got mine over here a half ago to GRH. Iwas able to get a good deal on. It from them they’ve been selling these for a very long time. They actually use them daily like. Isaid I’ve been using this. One daily for a year. And a half and have had zero issues with. All matter of fact I’ve never cleaned those filters.

Yet so but again the water quality. That I’m filtering through. It isn’t that bad it’s relatively clear water. You can go get the name see a swamp mud water. You want it in here. And just like the katadyn backpacking filters. Any of the other backpacking filters. It will come out clean as can be so parts wise parts. You can turn around. You can get them directly through the manufacturer. And pretty much it’s pretty simple. They stay cell to parts kit for this unit it’s basically a replacement spigot right here spout your drip. And also your retaining nut for your filter. It passes through the filter body. That I’m sorry the water the body there. And the seto rings on top of the filters. That little rubber gasket plug there’s as well. Another ring that goes on the spigot part over here too it’s relatively expensive. Ithink on Kevin’s website you’re actually. You can buy both parts kits for like sub 20 bucks. And that’s about I mean there’s not much to them like.

You know the foot filters filled filtration is pretty good like. Isaid they’ve got it rated at 40 K thousand gallons. You know I filter anywhere from 10 to 20 litres a day on average. This to make like Crystal Light type drinks anytime we’re cooking pretty much just, so we’re not dependent on what it comes straight out of the tap. And that’s an everyday thing for a year. And a half and I’ve had zero issues. Ihaven’t had any problems with. These filters mysteriously disintegrating like. Some other companies. Or falling apart anything like. That but these are not pleated filters. They are ceramic silver impregnated filters so but pretty much.

You want to have a table-top filter that’s got an impressive rating. That has a reputation for a really good line of filters not only just for backpacking but for all kinds of water filtration check. You know like I got mine through jrh. They offer some good prices on them so. You want to check them out but besides. That cat in satin drip filter hope. You join and help. You need more info about. It go ahead some questions. And I’ll help you the best. Ican so cat and drip thanks.

You hey gang vicen here they’d like to show. You guys a cool new bottle. Ifound a few months ago. Iwas in uh either REI. Or EMS actually possibly Dick’s Sporting Goods. Iwas looking for a bottle to keep in my everyday bag. Some basic EDC items. When I’m uh out doing jobs. And stuff I thought to myself. You know an emergency situation in an urban environment. You know from in a building or somewhere. Idon’t have the ability to actually start a fire. Or bottle boil water. And whatnot I didn’t have my little UV water purifier tabs which. You know they work but the d UV purifiers I’m skeptical I’m seeing good things about them. And the tablets as you know. You know you need some time. They need a little while to do their job. Some have horrible taste. Some take several hours tablets powders what-have-you but. This is the LifeStraw portable water filter. This is a on Amazon for about twenty-eight dollars. And it’s really cool. It has integrated filter in. Some information up here award-winning technology makes micro biologically contaminated water safe to drink. It felt as a thousand liters which is 264 gallons meets US EPA drinking water standards removes 9999% of bacteria E coli etc. And 999% of protozoa. Or Giardia Cryptosporidium etc so. Ithink is a very cool to have I’m not sure. You can replace the filters. This is disposable you got to keep track. Than 264 gallons some instructions here fill the container with dirty. Or unfiltered water sip water through straw.

You have to drink cess. Each drinking session unscrew the lid blow through the life store to expel dirty water so. If using this for everyday use is filling up with your tap. Or water fountain I wouldn’t be worried about. That step but if you’re scooping out of a lake. Or a stream something you think has. Some dirt in and definitely that’s the path. You want to take so let’s just open. It up here this is a pleasure for a change a little baggy tires opposed to those stupid things. You got a snap the top here has a little protective cover over the mouthpiece which is not easy to get off hold on okay it’s off there’s the mouthpiece. It doesn’t pull up anything it just stays like. That has a little ventilation up here so. When you’re sucking your liquid out. It has air flow it is a little tag on here little beaner which is removable pull the clip on to your pack. Or your belt loop whatever. Because little paperwork a user manual for a bottle inside the thing here which.

Igot to get out with my big shrek hand let’s take a look at the manual real quick English a bunch of different languages life Stross story cautions tells. You again the stuff. Ijust read on the back. And the rest is all foreign language pretty useless here’s look at the filter it’s pretty much to. Me the LifeStraw itself in a bottle form. It doesn’t look like. It does pop out so you can buy. And replace them which is very cool. And it’s got some nice Oh rings here to make a nice seal. It back in let’s fill. What the suctions like. What it tastes like. Istill have the water in. This bottom hold I showed. You guys the other day the Hydra pack in a previous video, so we’ll use the water that’s still in here of course.

Ispilled a little but that’s okay so let’s just do a little blow test. It feels like it has good air flow for suctioning so. Now she’s all screwed in to try taking a sip very nice the first couple sips took a bit to get. Some of the it’s a little air bubbly little aerated tasting but um tastes good in a form as well. It again and there is a slight effort. When you’re sucking through the store to get the water out but. Ithink it’s pretty cool to have I’m going to grate. This as a part of my everyday carry it’s closed let. Me just do a little leakage test note it’s good to go seals nice very cool. And I’m sure this cap. It would fit on other Nalgene type bottles I’m not sure. Igot to try them out. Igot a bunch of the ones with the smaller tops on them. Or may work with some other various bottles a. Few guys and girls out there know. This cat might work on.

You have this already let. Me know so again these in the stores. They retail for about 30. Some odd dollars 34 35 bucks but. You go to Amazon you can actually find it for 28 98. And it’s called the live store go water bottle integrated 1000 liter life straw filter alright guns there. You go likes to a portable water filter in a bottle thanks for watching vicen out you.

We have the combi micro filter from kaettadhum it’s the endurance series so. That is the best series. They have for expeditions camps. And professional use. And the class ‘to is up to fifty thousand liters of water depending on water quality. It weighs approximately 580 grams it’s 27 centimeters by 6 centimeters. It includes a bottle adapter a pre-filter. And a carrying bag and I’m going to demonstrate. You take it apart rights. Now so first you pull. That up unscrews that a quarter of a turn. That lifts up and the pull handle. Or top comes off where the carbon goes right in here. You can pull the lid off like. That we’re going to fill. It on carbon comes with. You need that’s good stuff make sure the threads are clean before reattach the lid. That just snaps right on there. Now the instructions say. Ishould pump half a litre through. And then I’ll have to clean the harmless carbon dust off of the ceramic filter okay. It tells us to pump a half a liter of water. We fill the carb carbon cartridge so make sure we’re inside a little bit block. More person we needed means. That the Cardinals has been a talker leader in city we’re going to clean out. This filter the ceramic filter with. Any black dust says to use the opposite end of your bottle filler to unscrew. Because would usually go in like. This actually pretty neat system. And then your sink water bottle will go on the bottom. Or your other bottles so. It has a room for a big bottle. Or a little bottle it’s a pretty good system.

You can use the opposite end to open the unit counterclockwise there. It is Wow amazing we’re going to clean. This off here comes with the scrubbing pads after quite a bit of scrubbing I’ve got an excellent almost brand in there that’s so record able runs. Now we’ve cleaned in silico on. Both top and bottom parts. This little gizmos for measuring it to tell. When to replace the ceramic. It will fit around there. When it’s time to replace the ceramic so. It just slides back in silicones are. All lubricated quarter-turn tightens. And we’re ready more water well. Now to taste test the katadyn combi expedition filter we’ve decided to try our aquarium water here.

And so we’re going to give it a. Few pumps either go on my friend will give it a fun important taste test good Joey a tree which looks clearer in the aquarium. Most definitely it’s a fresh carbon filter — it’s just bubbles oh wow with your brass oh yes just buckles are. All decision so that water is perfectly clear actually really clear. Once live out some bubbles in. And second so cheers was pretty clear. Though different is. It does taste dead fish no. Idon’t know that there’s. Iknow there was one in the tank before. We started it’s not bad but wall is pretty good it’s pretty order list for me tastes pretty good. Icould drink that mm-hmm oh.

    You did no bad serious.

There are many demonstrations of how to use. This product on YouTube. Ifigured we’d make. One here for the old homeless guy channel give. You a little we’ve used. Few times so you can tell. What we thought about the product so it’s 1495 at REI which. We read our you get at other places. And it’s designed for treating potable water drip stored in tanks so like in an RV. Or a homestead it has a big water reservoir obviously. You wouldn’t need this crucible but similar product. And it’s basically chlorine dioxide. And phosphoric acid which is the activator it’s a two-part system with models with a little mixing cap right there. You take the cap off get a 1 litre bottle fillers water seven drops of Part A into the land seven drops of Part B in the lid set a timer for 5 minutes turns yellow. And the chemical reaction is completed then. What you do after you add to your 1 litre bottle we’ve been doing it in batches using these 1 liter bottles there’re 5 minutes on. One second alright so. This one’s done that’s. What it looks like in 5 minutes completely yellow. And right then after you’re done. We get the water on the pan show. That the chef’s water get a shake. And then you set a timer for 15 minutes. This case the waters closes 30 minutes for cold water. Or turbid water it changes the color of the water a little bit but. It really doesn’t change the taste. It doesn’t make it taste like chlorine which is.

What I was concerned about. It enhances the flavor. It makes it taste closer to bottled water well water over. And Instrumentation really clean air out of a hose lady’s house there was. It was fine quality but. It had bacteria taste. This product damn near got rid of the solvent a11 treatment probably should have gone a little heavier with the chemicals. Igot the whole treatment out it’ll hold the whole I’m sorry the whole sulfur chased out but. It did a good enough job. It took water you could barely drink without throwing up. And made it was easy stomach. It so far we’ve done about two gallons of water plus. This today so five six gallons total. And it’s pretty good real expensive. You still need a filter. And you’re not to be drinking really nasty water with. We have pretty good water. You just want to make sure there’re no bacteria.

And make sure the taste decent instead of like algae. Or slime mold containers so. You need to treat your RV tank. Or water you get story. You have long-term storage water containers in. One tree I recommend. Irecommend you guys see. What we do occasionally drink out creeks filter like everywhere.

Hey y’all it’s calling this is day 9 of my thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail the beautiful day here stopped at Betty Creek which is about 97. And a half miles from Springer Mountain. One question I keep getting asked is there water out there are the faucets no but there’s lots of water creaks. And springs there’s an ongoing conversation amongst hikers of what the best way to sterilize water is I’ve gone with chlorine. It worked for civilization for 200 years so it’s good enough for me. What I have here is aqua mera there’s part a of the treatment which is chlorine dioxide. And there’s Part B which is a phosphoric acid. You put seven drops of. Each bottle into a cap. It activates seven drops will do. One liter of water I have a three liter reservoir. And the way I filter large sediment out is with the piece of pantyhose cut the toe of. And it’s as simple as dropping it in stretch. It around the mouth. And with the water all right reservoir is full I’ve already let the chemicals activate for five minutes. They turn a bit of a yellowish color so jump a min shake. It up let it fit 20 minutes. And good to go thank. You for watching happy sunday to. Everyone you have a great day.

we’re gonna look at. This SteriPEN today. Ipicked it up from Sports Chalet for about a hundred bucks I’ve been wanting to get. One just to have been good for camp in. And put in my car in case. Something happens we get stranded out for buying or. Something like that go ahead take a look at her. All right looks like. We got a little instruction manual see. If it’s in English here. All right that’s the winner. These can get shaded okay in case. Imade out of feels like neo print purifier USB cable. And mystery charger. These are actually supposed to work out pretty good. We have a little interface here alright I’ll go ahead. And scan these instructions. It in the video here. If anybody’s thinking about giving one. They want to see what it takes to use huh. It looks like you basically you’re gonna do. One liter push the button. Once stirred around in the water submerge the metal pins.

And stir until you see a smiley face. And then that means you’re done let’s get a little bit of water. And test I just realized. That the screen is cracked no. You could see that it’s probably worth. Me taking back it’s not too cool bummer also give it a test real quick. It works okay we got about a half liter here so. It says to push it twice, so we’ll push. Once right now half liter smiley face looks like. It might be asking me to charge your battery as well see. It gets hot nope pretty trippy right. Some clean water I guess looks like. This is vintage so we can go ahead. While wet and pack. It away in a little bag here. Although I think I’ll be taking it back for. That crack screen yeah. Ithink so we’re gonna look at. This SteriPEN today. Ipicked it up from Sports Chalet for about a hundred bucks I’ve been wanting to get.

One just to have been good for camp in and.

This is the SteriPEN adventurer opti it’s a lightweight water purifier. That uses high-energy ultraviolet light to blast viruses bacteria. And cysts from your water. These little units are perfect for back country hiking camping trips. Even international travel to purify water it’s fairly simple. Whether you’re doing 16. Or 32 ounces it’s quick. And efficient takes about 48 seconds to purify 16 ounces. And 90 seconds for a full liter the UV light breaks down the DNA of viruses bacteria. And cysts rendering them harmless. It works with cr123 batteries which are included in the package it’s got. Some advanced electronics which are designed to activate only. If there is enough juice in those batteries to produce the power required to purify your water. If there isn’t enough battery power to run a full cycle. It won’t function and you’ll have to replace the batteries. This is intentional so. You don’t end up with partially decontaminated water. If your unit stops working your first steps should be to simply replace the batteries the UV light is undetectable by the human eye but there is a visible LED light. That indicates when the unit’s working and shuts off as soon as the full dose of UV has been delivered again it’s only gonna work.

If the batteries have enough juice to run the full cycle so. It doesn’t turn on change them keep in mind. This thing is designed to work with clear unfrozen water discoloration. And debris can limit the penetration of. That UV so you should use a pre-filter. If you’re gonna use. Any water that’s cloudy. Or murky to begin with. This unit is perfect to give. Some reassurance that your water is safe to drink. Whether you’re drawing from a tap in a foreign country. Or just want to give yourself. Some peace of mind after quickly pre-filtering some rivers water the SteriPEN adventurer opti is worth having in your kit thanks for watching if. You have any additional questions about the gear.

You just saw feel free to visit back country edge comm to get in touch with. One of our other gear specialists. We have detailed product descriptions. And specs and often for a lot our products. We have additional bonus videos. You like what we do here on YouTube please subscribe.

Reasons why I got this one-hour USB charging means no batteries at. All as well as convenient drinking water so for 1 liter. Ihave to put this in the water for 90 seconds. And for half a liter it’s only 60 45 to 60 so. We do to go I literally have never used. This before, so we’re gonna pretty clear water which is good for the staring peg. You want that UV light to be able to penetrate over water here. It says for one liter at the power button. One time coming on one liter as soon as. These sensors will activate. You can see the UV light has come on. Iwant to agitate the water a little bit to make sure. Everything it’s kind of counter on there so. It tells how much longer I’ve got to keep stirring this UV light is completely harmless. All the UV gets absorbed by the plastic. And through the water. It kills all the bacteria in their 40. More seconds want to make sure. You keep stirring it fifteen. More seconds bitch lights off we’ve got a smiley face indicating this water is safe to drink so it’s awesome so that’s the SteriPEN ultra thanks for watching you.

Everybody welcome back to Jitsu mm here today I’m back with the interesting video for you today. Iwant to talk about the aqua mera frontier straw. This costs under 10 bucks on Amazon. These will filter 30 gallons of water. These will remove 999% of protozoa Zion cysts. They will remove Cryptosporidium they’ll remove Giardia. They weigh around one ounce. They have what they call the blue line parasite protections so. This thing’s wet inside. It won’t cause mildew. And things like that inside the filter so. You leave it’s not gonna harm the filter. Now I’m gonna read some of the specs on the back. It says the ultra light frontier straw filter has been tested. Or excuse me has been trusted sorry. And used by hikers campers. And back country enthusiasts for more. Than a decade add more to your backpack. Or travel kit to protect your thirst. Wherever you go blue line protection removes Cryptosporidium Giardia bio toxins such as micro cysts. And then it says increased capacity filters 50%.

More water than previous design. And simple straw design connect. And sip to the filter 1 ounce portable protection lightweight compact. And again it says suppresses the growth of bacteria algae fungus mold mildew within the filter media. It comes to this filter. This has something that’s a little different. Than a sawyer filter. You watch this video might be thinking that’s not a life straw that’s not a sawyer. And believe I love Sawyer’s. Idon’t know what the micron rating is on these. Iknow a Sawyer is 01 micron. And that’s a really tight tolerance but. Ican tell it says right here on the package. It says chlorine taste. And odor removal right here.

Now that’s something folks. That the Sawyer line of filters does not have. Ilove the Sawyer’s. Ithink personally I think they’re the best on the market but for 10 bucks. This is perfect for throwing in your bug out bag. You can put it in your car things of. That nature now again it’s BPA free. And it’s only good for 30 gallons. Now why is why am I so excited about. It I’m excited because 30 gallons is a lot of water to drink in a survival situation so. You get caught in a pickle somewhere 30 gallons is generally gonna get. You out of there for you know. You probably have five days of water six gallons a day times five days that’s 30 gallons right so that’s a lot of water that’s a lightweight straw. And it’s good you know. If you’re in the back country. And you’re finding yourself in. Some water this is the old packaging this is the same thing with the new packaging and.

Ireally I think the melmans here. Ireally like the new packaging because. They give you a bag a water bag so. You got like the Ziploc kind of enclosure right here on the top it’s got like a ziplock. It comes with the filter inside same price just new packaging why is. This cool this is cool. You can use the bag to collect the water. And then you could drink out of the bag with the filter so. Ithink that’s pretty cool, so I’m gonna go ahead. And open and show what it’s. All about some water here. Because there is a thing. Iwant to caution you about. This filter has a charcoal inside of. You have the straw their tilt. That down just a tiny bit for you guys so there’s the straw there’s a little cautionary. That I’m gonna share with.

You so there’s the filter. What the filter looks like that’s. It rights there this end is the filter in so. You basically take the straw. You plug the straw right on top of the filter. You don’t drink water right away. You a lot of people think okay. Ibought a water filter I’m gonna stick. That in the creek and start drinking away no please don’t do. That I’ll show you why again. This has carbon element in. It as charcoal so what you want to do. You want to introduce the filter into your water. And suck about halfway up. And watch the color of the straw see. That’s the charcoal so. We need to discard this stuff right here see.

We need to get rid of. That’s because we don’t want to be drinking. You drink that it’s harmless it’s not going to hurt. We don’t want to drink. It takes a few sips until. You get the filter where you’re getting clear water coming through. You look at you can see. That the water is clear so. Now the filter is good to go. Ican sit here and drink. This untreated water through. This filter with no problems. Ishouldn’t let it dip underneath like. Idid there a second ago so. You want to make sure the straw is really clean but that’s. All the carbon you have to remove it’s not. That much it’s a couple sips. And then you’re done so. You have your water. You collected whether it’s in your bag. Or a container and sit there. You drink the water. And unlike a Sawyer filter the water actually tastes really good so.

Any kind of scent the water stinks. It tastes funny like a lot of times. Ido the Sawyer’s that the water tastes like dirt. Or tastes like grass. Whatever it tastes like that’s the beauty of the charcoal inside again folks. This is good for 30 gallons. And it’s in my opinion the perfect emergency filter that’s lightweight. You can put in your bag. Ireally like and the water tastes really good. You have to suck a little bit hard it’s not bad. Imean but you do have to put a little effort into. It but let’s not forget the type of filter the the customer base. That they’re looking for they’re looking for people. That want an emergency filter. Ithink it’s a great product so please my voice so please folks check the description box down below in.

Hi I’m Jason and today just wanted to show. You a piece of gear. Irecently picked up. This is an aqua mirror frontier pro water filter. What caught my eye is. That it’s only two ounces. It only filters down to two microns which isn’t a lot it’s not enough to take out things like viruses but. Ithought it would be a very good emergency backup filter so. You can see it’s a filter. You have to actually suck through it’s not an inline filter. Or a pumping filter. And here’s a bite valve right here it’s protected by. This little cap that keeps. It cleans and free of sand in here there’s actually a pre-filter. You can change yourself. You can’t actually clean the filter inside but at only twenty dollars. You can pretty much consider them disposable. And use them for backups. Or emergencies only. Iwouldn’t trust my life to. This thing because it only filters down to two microns but for two ounces it’s nice to throw in your pack in case your water filter breaks. Or you’re carrying all your water in. You know you might run out. And be an emergency. That at least got it back up so it’s very simple to use just take a bladder. You can also use a you can also use a coca-cola bottle. Or a plastic water bottle. Anything like that just to fill. It up I’m not going to flow them up. All the way but get the idea here. And then there’re threads in the bottom just screw.

That together like this okay pull off the cap. And suck so it’s got a pretty good flow rate the water comes through ok like. Isaid it’s not it’s not the greatest thing to use. This little awkward. It kind of flops around. And things like I wouldn’t use. It as my main filter but as a backup it’s greatI’m going to put the specs on my website so. You can see the different dimensions. And weight and things like. That but it 20 bucks is a great value. Idefinitely recommend. You want something from your pack for an insurance policy.

Hey guys Brian with. Some fire a calmer here again look at the little water filter today it’s from aqua Mara it’s the front air pro small portable water filter it’s rated to filter 50 gallons of water. It has the functionality. It will tie into a hydration pack a standard water bottle. Or standard water bladder says removes ninety-nine point nine percent strike two sporty m. And dr de put the dhitha little filter a little less. Than twenty bucks so pretty hard to beat look at size-wise here. It comes with the filter itself a suction tube to adapter heads instructions. And two additional pre-filters for a total of refill for pre-filters. And well its size wise here’s the filter unit here’s my trusty quark mini 123 tactical that’s a small filter. Ienvision this filter. You don’t want to use a water purification tablet. You need filtration in addition to purification great for an emergency kit a little survival kit. You don’t anticipate needing to filter.

Than 30 gallons of water. You can do you want. One of the big or filters but. It fills a nice little niche. And your water filtration needs. It has a bite valve just to get your water out the two adapter has. One adapter head with a pre-filter in. It too tight directly on to a water bottle so say you’re out hiking you have a bottle of water. You drink it you’re out. You have you can fill fill your water bed your water bottle out of the stream. Whatever put this puppy on top. And drink right out of the water bottle then. You can also fill your water bladder with. This adapter which has a pre-filter two of the four. That come with you can tie. This into your water bottle. Or your water bladder. And drink unfiltered unsafe water directly from your bladder. And then with this first adapter say. You don’t have a water container. You don’t have a water body done. Everything you can plug. This adapter straw on here. You can suck directly out of your water source size-wise it’s pretty hard to beat.

It in my emergency water kit small economical quality filter can’t beat. That for less than 20 bucks that’s unfair AMISOM so. When you’re checking out your water filtration situation. You know I also have tablets are compact. Ihave a larger filter. Iuse for camping and then. Ihave my large filter. Ihave for an actual static camp. Or home use, so I have 44 different ranges of water filtration which. Iuse depending on the situation but like. This little 2000 filter still fills a great niche. And is a value for the dollar thanksI’m going to try out a water filter here will front to frontier pro the print sheet notice my dog ears stir. It up the sediment in the water extra tests on. This filter lets’s fill being put on a bottle stuck through.

It before I have the straw dashed here so. Ican drink directly from the water source. Once I’ve got the one the rock. All wet let’s see it works oh say works pretty good the last time. We were our here camping we filtered. Some to a coffee filter. And then boiled this still had a little twang to. It go through the filter no pond water taste like. You come out my water bottle so. Iwas testing this to see. Iwanted to keep it my back it’s a small filter I’m happy with.

All right this is an overview of the aqua mera frontier pro it’s the ultra light multi use water filter. It comes with a full set of instructions to tell. How to use this thing and. All packs together in. This really cool heavyweight plastic bag which can also be used for extra storage. You can see the bottom here turn into a water pouch comes with four pre-filtersI’ve actually used. This andI’ve changed the filter already soI’ve got three left get your hose. And the filter unit itself. It doesn’t come with. These on here these are M&S;. And cat eye tape just in case. Idropped something out in the field. That a lot I also have. It on the back of my knife here. You drop something at night. It helps you to find it I’ll get into. This after a while okay you’ve got a nozzle here a little nipple. And with this rubber seal affixed. It will fix to the drinking tube of the Nalgene. Even the source water systems to make a Camel back compatible. You do is remove the rubber o-ring this makes a great in-line filter for camel backs. Or other hydration systems. This can also be removed. And your tube placed on the internal nipple open. You have a patent to bite. Me valve this makes. It easy for drinking water out of cracks crevices stagnant pools. Whatever water source. You may find also this is removable. Where the filters go inside the pre filters.

This will purify up to 50 gallons of water. This can also be turned into a drip filter by removing the bite valve it’s a little tough but. It off of there this makes. It into a free-flow drip filter. You can remove and screw. This on to a two-liter bottle. And drink out of that way with the bite valve. You can also reconnect. This end and hook it to your Camel back. Or your other hydration system. It as a free-flow to purify water. While out the field. This is probably one of the handiest little filters. That I’ve seen another really cool thing about. You notice these threads. This is meant to thread onto a hot water heater. You have 40 50 many gallons of usable water in your hot water heater. This can purify in the event of a disaster scenario power outage. Whatever the problem may be. Any type of emergency situation in the home. You can quickly utilize the water that’s in the hot water heater with.

This filter making it safe to drink in case it’s contaminated inside the tank itself. Ireally encourage people to carry small filters like. This for the simple reason. That it’s lightweight it’s compact it’s inexpensive. This unit will probably cost about $25. And it’ll pack just about anywhere. You need it to pack. You strap it to the outside of packs with small velcro straps. Whatever you may have on hand to secure. You can throw it in your cargo pocket. You can throw it anywhere. You need to make. This handy now the number of uses of. This thing the versatility. Idon’t see any reason why I wouldn’t carry. This in my pack in the desert. We come across such nasty pools of water. This little suckers a lifesaver well does. It works well let’s go find out okay.

Now I’m here to actually demonstrate. How to use the occupier of frontier crow military. This is actually a really good survival item to carry in your pack as. Isaid earlier it will purify up to 50 gallons of water having the capabilities to purify 50 gallons of water at hand is priceless. Once you’re done with the internal filter unit. You just throw and go buy. You can’t gripe about the price okay. What I’ve done is I’ve put the drinking tube onto the filter system. What I’m going to do is I’m going to drink out of. This to demonstrate. How well it works and I’m also going to use the bag. It comes in I’ve also got a hydration bladder as well as a small soda bottle. Ican use to demonstrate the drip filter. All right let’s drink up it’s actually not bad. All right let’s move on to the next step for. That I’m going to put the drink tube back on. And remove my other contents from the back doesn’t.

That look appetizing tell them little floating critters in there but basically I’m going to do the same thing I can honestly tell. You so far there’s nothing that’s going to get through. This filter all right let’s see a couple. More uses now I’m going to use a standard bottle like. We found in the field just lying around with the filter there’re two ways. This can be done you can leave the tube on then just screw. You have a drinking tube. You can remove that screw. This one remove the bite valve. You have a drip filter let’s see. It works okay now with. This can actually be turned upside down. And poured into another container. You can see how that’s dripping in. That water is perfectly clean. This can be done until the Camelbak. Or like reservoir is filled up okay.

This is just a cheap hydration bladder. Iwanted to test it would work on a variety of hydration bladders but. It didn’t mention this particular. What I’m gonna do basically I’m just gonna stick. This one here make sure the o-ring stays in place okay. This is put in the pack. This can be drooped over the shoulder. You can drink from it just like. And not worry about the quality of the water that’s in your bag yeah. Ithink that’ll work well for the demonstration okay basically we’ve got our contaminated water. And our filter it’s actually pretty good alright. Iwas saying you can remove. This bite valve stick. It in my pocket here so don’t lose.

And again you have a larger capacity drip filter. Iwould carry this in my kit. Because I’ve got 50 gallons at hand. Iwould also use this at my home should a natural disaster happen by removing this can fit on the hot water heater. This is also a time saver by utilizing this filter in my kit. It keeps me from having to wait for purified water. Ineed hydration what I’m going to reach for I hope. This video gave you a little bit of an idea of an inexpensive filter. That can be carried. That could be a lifesaver in my opinion a 50 gallon capacity water filter easily carried anywhere for 25 bucks can’t be beat I’m John Campbell from Arizona Bushmen comm.
